I bought my Craftsman black box 18yrs ago, it's 1 of the best investments I've ever made in my 50yrs on this 3rd Rock from the Sun!! I've added more 2 it, like 6,8,10&12" blue point adj, more combo wrenches, and thumb ratchets as well, mine came w/3 universals, I also got all extentions 4 all 3 drives, I haven't had any trouble over the years, except having 2 refurbish the drive ratchets myself from 2 much wear, and I did break my 1/2" breaker bar, being the 290 pound gorilla that I am!! 2 which they replaced 4 free, not 2 sure on these new Craftsman toolz?? But mine have stood up 2 many years of abuse!! $214 out the door, 4 a 253 piece set, way back in the day, money well spent, indeed!! Thank you for your time kind Sir.

I bought a set similar to this almost 12 years ago. I've had to replace a few sockets due to misuse, but haven't had any break from normal use. And I use them everyday for work.

I have this tool set. It's my "old faithful" tool set & I've done plenty of jobs with this. I've changed my spark plugs too many to count. I've done my first few oil changes. I've changed the valve cover gasket. I've used the wrenches to build furniture together.
I still have this set but I just bought the husky 290 piece set at home depot black friday sale. That one is going in the house. While this old faithful is getting worked on outside. As my old faithful, that 3/8 ratchet & wrenches were the most I've used on the set. Luckily nothing broke or got lost. Like that 10 mm or 14

I love this set. It's already paid itself off. I know they aren't USA anymore but I've grown up with Craftsman and would hate to see them good.

Looks like a good set. I need to get some more 1/2 and 9/16 sockets. Seems like I'm always losing those ;)

thanks. I just can't buy basic tools from the tool truck. they want way way too much. I'm always loosing 8 and 10 mm sockets and wrenches lol

I can imagine they would be expensive. They used to sell a ton of used tools at the local flea market, but I haven't gone in years.

I got the same one 21 years ago, had to buy a new box after 15 years. 30.00 for the new box so it should last you quite a while

For the price I guess it's not a ripoff.. but idk if I'd ever get myself to buy that.

I bought a 450 piece set and im really dissapointed, it doesnt have any deep well 1/2 sockets, drawers arent wide enough they fall through, the biggests sockets on the set deep well 1 inch 15/16 7/8 are 3/8 drive, got a whole lot of bits about 150 of them, only one 3 inch 1/2 inch extension, quality is bad you can tell its chinese made.
