I bought it on Amazon the same minute I saw it for the first time in the DinoToyForum. That green paint scheme and application is one of the best works of the company ever. So gorgeous.
It _is_ incredibly gorgeous indeed! This has one of the most soothing blends I have ever seen on any model, and where both colours are so good they are _both_ taking up precious space on my shelf!
Without a doubt! HLG has now cornered the market on herbivores, I would say! They have improved so much... just look at the unpainted fingers and the way the squiggles are integrated into the body this time!
The pattern is wonderful ! I slighly prefer the brown for once but both are amazing. I really enjoyed your review because of your great showcase of the model and thanks to the "science part". It's really cool to learn while collecting and enjoying figurines and that's why I love your channel. Keep going !
Thank you very much! I find as I learn more, I get more excited to share and hopefully, get people interested to learn more as well! I am usually one for the green version, but this time, I also prefer the brown. Maybe I've just been primed by the CollectA colour, but the association is strong. And the colouration on this is so buttery smooth and soothing! It's a very very very hard choice, but if I was forced to keep on, it would be the brown!
I just got a bunch HG ceratopsians, though I didn’t get this one. I’m now regretting that decision 😢. I am out of room at this point, but they just make such tempting Dino’s. I think they’ve surpassed PNSO as far as herbivores are concerned by this point and if their carcharodontosaurus is any indication of things to come then their theropods aren’t far behind.
I don't know what your set up is, but if you watched my video 302, you can see that I use these risers that can cheat a little to create more space on a shelf. It works better for more compact animals like the ceratopsians though! Their Carcharodontosaurus was a collab with GR Toys, and was sold at as a special, and so were a bit more expensive than the ones currently sold. So I'd say it speaks to potential more than portent. However, if you liked what they did with their recent Majungasaurus, then their theropods are going to follow with equal if not better quality. I want them to redo their Tyrannosaurus... I know they can do better than what we got! As for surpassing PNSO, I believe that they are certainly close in some and better in others. For instance, the current Styracosaurus is arguably better than PNSOs. They are now the go to for 1:35 herbivores, and for me I am definitely an ardent fan!
Another amazing review from you, my dear sir. If you ask me which one I like the most, I would pick the green one. As you've mentioned, the color palette suits camouflage and hiding. And it reminds me of the movie 'The Predator 1987'. I have a question, my dear sir. Why can't we speculate that these ceratopsians had patterns on the back of the frill? This figure looks so perfect, and I will definitely get this someday. Thank you so much, my dear sir. You are the absolute best. 🖤🖤
Ah do you mean Arnold's sick camo? There could well have been patterns behind the frill, although if it's always in shadow, then it might serve no purpose. Of course, one could also argue that have a bright accent there as it was running away from a predator and occasionally in head down position, it might startle the predator buying precious time. That's the nice thing about these animals... we can always speculate!
This great looking 'tops must have been told a surprising fact to have that expression on his face! You may need to have 2 paint variations of your trusty almond for future Haolonggood reviews, I think! A wonderful review as always!
Hahah I am thinking a review of almonds might be in the future of this channel! 🤣 This is so far probably my favourite ceratopsian from HLG, and that's saying a lot!
Binging these videos rn to see what I should get. I recently got a job and monetization so I can finally justify getting some figures! The decisions are so tricky though... This Utahceratops is quite nice, the colours are very reminiscent of their Chasmosaurus
Tell me about it! I think this is the first pair of colour variants where I can't decide which one I prefer. And I'm someone who usually gravitates to the green away from brownish themes.
I think that goes to inflation, natural increase in price, but also, the shipping and middle man charges depending on who you are ordering from. Purely from price view, it hasn't been such a painful increase in RMB for us. Unfortunately, there is always a suspicious of how much the middleman is 'skimming' off the total cost. If you have a friend in China, perhaps you could get that person to buy enough to accumulate and then send to you using economical shipping. Or, until you decide to visit China 😁
I received the brown version of this Utahceratops a day ago. Unfortunately I have to say that the mold quality is rather bad. The head and frill are good, but many areas on the body have a glassy almost molten looking appearance and they are not near as crisp as some other Haolonggood figures that were released this year. Also the paint in places is so thin that you see the plastic shining through. This has nothing to do with the design of the sculpt or paint scheme, but is a production issue. I strongly suspect that this has to do with poor temperature control during the injection molding process. One would see features of this kind on some other Haolonggood figures earlier, but not near as bad as on this one. This is light years away from the crisp and sharp resin like surface texture of recent PNSO figures. Given the poor production quality, this Haologgood Utahceratops is not worth the 20 USD that it costs. I rather pay 35 USD for a PNSO and will have no quality issue whatsoever.
How would you say yours compares with what you could see on my video? Do you see the same issues on mine as well? The only thing that struck me was the amount of flashing on mine. You can see how even though I'd removed some before filming the video, I still discovered some afterwards.
@@DinosDragons This could well explain the flashing that you have seen. I have posted some images of these glassy molten looking areas on the Dino Toy Blog.

@@DinosDragons Hell yes, Arnold's camo looks like this.
I love the cake layering like stripes i think it adds character to the figure
It definitely does! And its oblique angle adds just that bit more flash to the design!
My favorite ceratopsian, hopefully they make a basal sauropodomorph soon.
I will definitely support a basal sauropodomorph!!! In 1:35 please! 😁
My favorite ceratopsian!
Congratulations!

Ugh. So. Many. Great. Figures. And so little space and money.
Not your fault of course. Thanks for yet another fantastic video!
We are certainly spoilt for choice by HLG! What an amazing company in this day and age of dinosaur model collecting!
I'm seeing in the future that there's gonna be a new family of ceratopsians called Pentaceratopsini.
Aha! Is this a particularly favourite of yours? 😁
Have you seen their new majungasaurus their theropods are getting better
For sure! I hope once they really nail their theropods, they can revisit their T Rex again and do a model worthy of this iconic theropod!
Wow!
Pnso "has to dress warmly"
The ceratopsian look better without articulated jaw.
It is truly beautiful isn't it! But is it "titanic"? 🤔😁
I will continue waiting for an Anchiceratops 😅
Hopefully one day! If anyone will give it to us, it would likely by HLG!
HLG ceratopsian are always amazing but prices increased a lot in the last years....at least 50%...

Dino do you know of any good dinosaur models from the Triassic period?
The only one I have and love is the Wild Safari Coelophysis. Beautiful figure!
크 둘다 예쁜데 갈색으로 사야겠다
You know, I usually like green, but if I had to choose, I would choose the brown too this time!
i wonder if it's the same almond throughout all your reviews
Hahahaha! Should I keep that a mystery? 🤣
@@DinosDragons one day someone will do an investigation searching thru the almond patterns 😄
It’s better than the collecta one
Yes, but that is on a different tier almost. Hard to compare. The HLG ones are fast becoming the best representations of many models!
I hope they make more unpopular animals bc they made an Argentino,
Alamo and this
And they only made one marine animal
So I hope they make a 1:35 scale pliosaurus

It's not that deep, lil bro. To be completely honest with you. For 20usd, you are NOT getting a better utahceratops model than this atm.
@@theepicdoge8045 The fact that there is no better offer is no excuse for poor production quality control.

Utahceratops y Chasmosaurus 🤔
Compre ambos! 🤣
