Have you heard about a temperature blanket ? Small yarn haul and sharing my plans for #temperatureblanket Yarn: Impeccable by Loops and Threads from Michael's 100% Acrylic
You guys in the US and Canada are so lucky to have craft stores like Michaels or Joannes, with a large yarn section. Where I live in London, UK we have Hobbycraft, but they only have a small yarn section. When I go to the US I will look for local craft stores.
I love the colours you picked 🧶I like the idea of creating a blanket for the city you were born in. If you didn't want to do 2024 temperatures I've also heard of people creating blankets for historic years, there's websites that have previous years weather information. So you could do a memorable year or your birth year so it's sort of like a memory blanket 🤗 That might also make it easier to plan how much you need of each colour. I look forward to seeing what you make 🧶😊
I am currently planning my 2024 temperature knitted afghan sized blanket with twelve colors. Also will have a white knitted row designating a new month. Good luck with your blanket.
I too am hoping to start my first temperature project soon. I am glad yt brought me your video. I’ve decided to make a temp project for the year I was born and where I was born. Since my birthday is in December I will start on my birth date and continue until my first birthday one year later. Instead of an afghan I have decided to make a runner for my bedroom. If I fill the spot I want and still have part of the year left I can also make a smaller one. We should keep in touch about our temperature creations.
I have bought some “I Love This Yarn” from Hobby. Not sure for sure if that is what I’ll use. My birthday is Dec 10th so I need to decide for certain. I bought 16 skeins. So confusing. Where I live we have four distinct seasons. It can be 0-10 degrees to 100+ degrees.
@@janiereding3784I'm planning to do 2 swatches, a crochet and knit, to help me decide😀 I also like Hobby Lobby "I love this yarn" . They have a good colors selection.
I crocheted one a couple years ago. I did use the Premier Basix DK for most colors. At that time they only had 1 green color, so I used a couple from the Anti-pilling line. I used a simple moss/linen stitch which is single crochet. It was fun. I did high temps for the day. Good luck on your blanket!
I want to make a temperature blanket in 2024, but I'm going to do it for 2022 which is the year my great granddaughter was born. She just got her first big girl bed and I am going to try to finish it for her 2nd birthday in June.
That was the biggest time suck of my life. I planned so well and the dang thing would of been all one color here in Houston. It was over 90 most of the year
I would like to make a temperature blanket, but I live in Texas and this year it was a hot mess....literally we were in a hot dome of heat. Good luck with blanket and happy crocheting.
You mean the cakes? Those are from lion brand yarn. I've had them in my stash for a while. The yarn is Mandala Thick & Quick but it is discontinued. Thank you so much for watching.
Yes. I'm going to crochet using linen stitch. Check out my mini update "Temperature Blanket Update" . I'm going to have another update early next week as well after I cast on. Thank you so much for watching🙂
PLEASE CHANGE THE BATTERY IN YOUR SMOKE DETECTOR!!! I’m sorry it was very hard for me to concentrate on what you were saying because the beeping was so distracting. I’ve seen people do Tunisian crochet for the temp blanket. She used sock yarn. It is not turning out too big and is really quite lovely.
Sorry I did not realize the battery was beeping. Will change it ASAP. I don't know about the fingering weight yarn, it might take me forever to finish a row but it's a workable idea as well.
Watching u again the second time. Love it. Thank you.❤❤❤❤

I've made a temperature blanket out of the impeccable yarns, and it was so cozy...
That's wonderful, I guess I made the right choice of yarn. Now I need to make sure that I have the right colors. Thanks for sharing😄
I have made several afghans out of Impeccable. The colors are beautiful and yes, very soft and cozy.

Thank you. I'm super excited to crochet one☺

I am doing my first one as well, I am doing it for 1985 in my area as this is the year we purchased our home 😊
