Possibly the single best episode of "Escape". Incredibly compellingly written and acted (with the exception of the waifish girl, whose performance is far over the top IMO). The fact that a story set in London around 1920 can still be almost perfectly resonant a full century later is a testament to Mr. Blackwood's writing talent, as well as Mr. Conrad's excellence as a performer.
I closed my eyes as I listened to this thrilling tale from "Escape," enabling me to visualize more readily what was happening. This was an excellent episode of "Escape," ably voice acted with an engrossing script, background music, and sound effects.
The quality of the productions has always amazed me. I come back from time to time and listen to these all night, even though I've heard every one multiple times.
@@SuspenseESCAPEremastered Charlie, many times - like at least three times within this last week - I will listen to episodes of "Barrie Craig, Confidential Investigator," with William Gargan or "The Adventures of Philip Marlowe" with Gerald Mohr until I fall asleep. I have heard all of them within the last few years, some I remember and some I don't. I consider them all good listening.
