It's amazing how backwards they went from Legion to BFA compared to what they offered from WoD to Legion.
anything would be good compared to wod though so it's not like it was hard to increase the quality of the game lol
To me I don’t understand why people just expected another expansion to do as well as legion.. not saying it was the best expansion ever but for some reason everyone’s forgotten about the possibility of there being another WOD esque expansion it’s like people just see it only going up from here because legion happened... nooo...
> Implying that Legion isn't as good as it is
Really odd how for these past expansions, especially BFA, the question is not "what new abilities and things will I get?" Instead, "What abilities and things will I lose in BFA?". Huge bummer, really.
I would really appreciate Classic sooner than later. The game is clearly for a completely different audience now.
If I had the choice between 7 abilities to spam or 40 useless abilities or one down ranked spell that you cant spam but have to stop cast constantly Id go for the 7 everytime...I do miss mp5 though....wish they just diminishing return it harder
If Preach goes on holiday, then Asmongold won't have any videos to put out.
Fatal Exception Since when has asmon been putting them up?
Whether he puts them up or not Asmond is making public comments on Preache's vids and he knows they're going up. I was wondering the other day if Asmond makes his own product or does he just comment on everyone elses work?
Jelly mate?
Because people ask him to react to videos
>.> "I'm not making the content, I'm just reacting to other videos and they are being put on another channel"
sure thing. guess Asmongold gets his body mind controlled on a regular frequency so he can claim plausible deniability.
this is the least hyped i have been for an expac
no they werent lol, legion is praobably most hyped one. people were proabably just drained from wod and didnt expect much from legion. not me though
I swear people say this all the time
Remember when Preach said WoD was going to be an amazing xpac? HYPERLUL
“I might call it a day. “
*FAINTS*
eternAl3 the end is nigh
Pretty sure that is the case for a lot of us veteran players. It really is frustrating to see all these changes slowly killing the game, we all really want the game to be good and keep pumping out feedback for all the terrible decisions they are making. But all of it is ignored.
First expansion launch I'll be missing since Cata. I don't get how they can think going from all of the customization options we had back to just talents and the odd trinket swap (outside mythic plus lol) is a good idea. I'll check out Nobbel for the story I guess....
eternAl3 think it's over for me also been playing since April 04
Jakxx 5014 By customisation options do you mean the artifacts?
Enjoy your vacation and time with your family Preach, you deserve it.
The talk about personal loot is very important, I remember trying to farm tichondrius for his class set shoulders and every time I would get icon of rot or whatever the shitty trinket was called, it would titanforge often for me too, it was very frustrating and I know if my guild at the time were running master loot there's a high likelihood that I would have gotten the tier shoulders at some point
Removing this sort of choice is not good and my current guild master is quite upset about it
Yeah, you don't forget about the GCD change. That moment where you press a button, but nothing apart from a buff pops up is JARRING. You're just standing there, and it feels like you're doing nothing. :S
"Yeah I just used this ability, gimme 1.5 seconds to catch my breath yo."
It definitely feels like shit on my ret pala, he just stands there, contemplating his wings, lmfao...
* presses crusade, looks down a few seconds later to check buff, sees no buff, sees ability off cd, stops what doing, waits... waits... waits... presses crusade........ waits some more. * Okay time to play! oh the boss is dead.
We FFXIV now boys.
The theme for Bfa seems to be "Not as excited as I usually am for expansions", this is concerning. Will this expansion be worse than Wod? Will the lack of class development kill the expansion and the game?
I like new spells/abilties and it is always a nice thing to explore and then get used to, this is more of a step back and I'm sceptical, we gain nothing and lose alot. We will have to wait and see, the expansion is not out yet and I am trying my best to be optimistic but it's hard.
The expansion absolutely has a lot of problems but I'm just going to try to stay optimistic and just have fun playing the game.
love ur videos man
I wouldn't bother. most of the player base (including me) will just be waiting for classic
Dominant Right Wing Alpha Male fuck classic man even bfa has more content and complexity
Most of the player base LOL. Surely you aren't serious..
Most of the player base..... I really doubt that, If you played back then I think you felt otherwise, Most of the game was a chore especially not being able to play a class you wanted to in a raid. I came from Lin2 which was an actual grind BUT Wow didn't feel that great to play, then. I don't get how people are SO excited about Vanilla.
"Dominant right wing alpha male" (all with caps as well...) Your name basically says it all about yourself.
Seems like the idea that Legion gave us "too much" is looking more and more prominent. It appears most things in BFA are just a watered down version of everything we've been doing, combine that with the dumbing down of classes with less mechanics, more downtime and less talents with character progression etc and now Azerite armor is pretty much going to be the main sets of armor rather than getting new pieces is making this expansion look less and less exciting for me.
My body hasn’t been so ready for 44min of preach before
CJ Moffat how do you feel that?
Just what I needed as im eating my pizza, a long ass preach video
Damnit you release this on PreachCon Day! I don’t have 44 minutes to stop and watch!
There’s simply no way we can lose as much as we have and have it feel good. However, I think it’s something they had to do for the game’s longevity. Between talents, artifacts, netherlight, legendaries, and tier set bonuses, we had all these systems interacting and doing crazy stuff, and I just think that design wise it had to be deescalated in order to build upon a much flatter surface once more. I look at BfA as a kind of soft reset, both narratively and systems wise, that gives them a lot of room to maneuver going forward.
Certain things, while they don’t effect me personally, I don’t agree with because all they do is seemingly add hassle for people who enjoyed playing the game a certain way, and I’m not about that. You should be able to swap gear in M+ if you want to, turn on master looter if you want to, or click a button on world quest tracker to join a Zerg group for a world boss if you want to. I don’t see the upside from those changes, and I feel bad for the people hurt by them.
However, purely on character power. I think it had to be done, and things will only get better from here. And, if I may, a great deal of the worry about the expansion both comes from a need for content creators to push out content (not you, Preach. I love you, doge) and is often overstated, dramatically.
Now, if 8.1 rolls around, and Azurite traits are exactly the same, and people still feel bad after gearing up and getting used to the new mechanics, that’s another thing entirely. I hope, and have faith that won’t be the case.
Jason Deschain well said,i see it the same way. Even if its slow and boring now,its just a fundament for building anew, and atleast that has me excited. So i can see where they are coming from, design wise. I mean, come on,this was inevitable.
Finally somebody who gets it. Warfronts are another example, sure they are too easy now and you can't lose, but scale wise it's an important mile stone for WoW, one which can be expanded upon in patches and also future expansions.
If you remember the prepatches of the last 2 expansions it was "soft reset" in a similar matter with people using the same arguments. Yet we are still losing stuff left and right. I am very sceptical about this expansion feeling good but i hope i get to have fun with the game i used to love for atlest a couple of months.
I mean, if “soft reset” has been thrown around a bunch in previous expansions that’s not something I’m really aware of and don’t think it fits for them. Bottom line is this; if losing all the toys we previously had is a deal breaker for you, that sucks and I’m sorry it has to be that way. I’d like everyone to be having fun, and for the game to flourish. However, I think people in general are more likely to have fun if they dive in and allow themselves to enjoy the content. It is a loss, absolutely. But it’s the ground floor of a new tower to climb, and we only know for certain what the lobby looks like.
I think you're being too optimistic here. You're saying they can still build upon what we have now in bfa, but we know for a fact that aside from some outliers no classes are going to receive major work during an expansion. And there is nothing in place except for azerite armor that has the potential to provide changes to gameplay. So I don't really understand this idea that it's all gonna be fine 2 patches down the line.
Arathi doesn't drop 355 anymore. It's down to 340 and the drop rate has been lowered significantly.
Love that WOTLK login music in the background. Hands-down the best expansion in terms of music.
Biggest killer for me is personal loot. I don't think its just a mythic raider problem either. Speaking from personal experience for instance in legion. Throughout the duration of Nighthold I never got Convergence from Elisande. It wasn't my best trinket so warriors and DH's got it which was fine. Then Tomb comes and its suddenly my best trinket. I had never dropped this thing from Heroic pugs even but I needed it. Eventually after about 3 weeks I got my guild up in arms and we all went back to NH mythic to get the trinket for me. A DH buddy of mine got it and traded it over. I was very grateful to my guild. These are positive social interactions. Gearing your friends in dungeons and raids, gearing your friends alts in Heroics, these are some things that are very enjoyable to a lot of people.
You're disappointed in azerite armor (me too), but apparently Ion finds the azerite armor game changing for specs....somehow
Maybe there is more to this system that is to come in the future? I mean I do not really see anything good about it now but who knows.
He’d call his own turd revolutionary..
BFA seems more and more like Blizzard just came up with a few ideas and convinced themselves it was enough to carry an expansion on. :/
More like the Cata expansion to be fair...came up with a shitton of ideas but didn't have time to compete them all... big difference is Cata waited several months (wasn't much warning when patches came out) on end for new patches while now they use a 77 day patch cycle which is way easier to set goals and complete them
Also Preach brought up a while ago that Blizz maybe botched azerite armor which seems more and more plausable as more patch notes come out
Enjoy a well deserved vacation.
In my guild and in trade chat, for two straight days, I’ve probably only seen about 3 comments that are positive about what happened in the prepatch. Let’s hope today’s q&a puts a lot of people’s worries to ease.
HAH when has a q&a put people at ease? once?
Depressing but a very honest review of what's to come.
I played 3 of my characters last night and after about 5-10 minutes on each the first thing I mentioned to my friends was that they all felt like they were missing stuff, and that is with my legendaries. I'm with you Preach I hope they have something more planned because the classes (and I didn't Beta test) feel lackluster at best.
Just be glad they still have legos and tier sets. For now.
It gets worse during BFA leveling btw :)
I just want brewmasters targetable keg throw back. Years later still low key buttmad.
brewmaster is a shell of what it was in mop. oh wait that’s every class in BFA
Getting a loud voice against the GCD changes wasnt hard. Getting Blizz to care is damn near impossible, though
For the warmode I'd do it the exact other way you suggested. Instead of people having to turn it on, when people get invited to a group which have warmode on. Give them the option to turn it on by adding another window that allows you to turn it on when they get invited. This way they'll still have to turn it off in Stormwind or Orgrimmar but avoids the problem of people abusing it to avoid the pvp part. And do avoid it being abused the other way maybe put a debuff on it so you cant start pvp combat instantly, like a 20-30 second cant pvp yet debuff.
@ Preach thank you as always for the hard work, quality videos, and your honest thoughts heading in to BIFA. Good luck to the community and here is hoping BIFA builds on the many things Legion did right and serves as a wow reset 2.0 to put the focus back on horde vs alliance and move characters in lore forward.
nice to hear your insight!
also I agree lots of the thing you said.
With all the personal loot bs, GCD,, etc.. I'm not sure how much i'm looking forward to play BFA.
The whole war mode on/off thing described around 18-20 mins into the video is mind boggling to me. Blizzard has been developing WoW for more than 14 years at this point. How did they not have the foresight to see that this was going to cause issues?
You know it's a good video when you don't realize it's 44 minutes long until it's over... Very well done, Preach!
After years of playing on and off since vanilla, I can say that it's very amusing to see people complain and flat out hate on something they supposedly enjoy every time new content rolls out or something changes. Not saying everyone needs to like what Blizz does but this cycle of new content, forums complain but keep playing, rinse and repeat its amusing. Enjoy your vacation Preach! I'm excited for BFA lore wise and the dungeons mostly.
Thanks for your thoughts preach. Please don't give up, love your wow content.
Hardcore casual,if there is such a thing, left last September due to rl obligations and this expansion will keep me away for longer. I started in 2005 and it was fun seeing what each new expansion brought, even though my playing time decreased and I stopped raiding in a guild, but seeing what they are doing now and will further I just can’t be bothered. I’m not going to stomp on blizzard as it is their game but who in the heck wants to go backwards. It’s like building an amazing flying machine that has progressed over time and ditching it in favor of a fricking pedal moped. Not saying everything was perfect and peachy in the past but what are they smoking...
thanks for the summary preach, hope you enjoy bfa more than you expect
You can always spot a hardcore raider by their 24/7 ‘satellite image’ camera angle, even when they are doing stuff like quests or standing around in town.
Thanks for video, kinda excited now. You look a bit tired though Preach. As a guy who just got back from a ten day vacation I highly recommend it. Enjoy your time off and don’t forget, whiskey makes everything better on vacation m8.
Honestly, going to level a couple of toons, then turn account off until last patch... if i even come back.. Less hyped for this expansion that any other ever.
Island expeditions where as you said, but I did one yesterday and the opposite team were out collecting Azerite (PvE NPC team) was a surprise as I was used to them just hanging out around their ship, made it more interesting.
"I'm preaching to a small amount of people here." I see what you did there.
His content is excellent and as a gamer, ancient gamer... lol like him. He is on target most days :)
Am I right in thinking Forge of Souls used dynamic music? I'm sure the music changed on the boss fights...
This is the most excited for an expansion I've been since wrath ended. There are some of us old players that aren't as sad about everything.
Also one thing makes me wonder. While WQT on beta doesn't really work as it used to but it is possible to create quest groups manually there. Interestingly it doesn't work on live at all.
So I started this week doing a mythic antorus pug and we killed garothi in 3 tries. No one really knew how to play their class. No one knew mechanics except for the sOak tWiCe meme. Yet we killed a mythic boss... tis was a nice feeling indeed.
Also, voice chat is flipping amazing!
first time i havent been excited for an expansion at all
J I don't think a lot of us are
I forgot half of the features that they added like the islands, communities, etc. Just not really as hype as usual. Might just stick around wow for when mike does mog contests.
I bet you say that every expansion
Like Preach said, it feels like we've regressed and this is just a reskinned version of Legion... but worse.
ANTERIOR And that's a problem? That's the thing that I dont get. The game is World of Warcraft not Battle for Azeroth. Of course the game can't change massively every expansion. I don't see a problem if they use what was good in Legion and take it to Bfa. Overall we have so much more content now than we had when WotLK came out for example. What did we get there? Dungeons, Raids faster flying and that's it. Now we get so much more stuff and people are still not satisfied.xD He flames World Quests but Dailys where exactly the same. And if you dont need to do them anymore you just dont do them and go over to M+ and raids. The Azerite Armor we have seen so far is the leveling armor, we haven't seen how the affixes will change in patch 8.1/2 so just wait. Videos like that just resemble his opinion. Make your own please and dont just repeat what he says. When I watched the video about the classes I was really worried at first but then I played the beta a bit and I can't agree at all. The classes are good. I dont see major problems with them like he does. So just wait for the release, try it yourself and if you dont like it well just skip 1 patch or 2 it won't kill you.
There's a lot to like and a lot to dislike.
Encourage what's working, keep on pushing back against clearly self destructive shit like the ML and GCD changes.
And enjoy your vacation Preach, the whole community knows you deserve it.
WoD powered us down a lot as well. The massive ability pruning and some class features taken away to be given as ''leveling perks'' later down the line.
I find that when you kill someone in the world while trying to get your world quests done, they try to kill you later while you are busy fighting mobs or whatever, so it's usually counterproductive unless you are specifically there to pvp.
With regard to warfronts: If you can't lose, does it even feel good to "win"?
Not saying that they can't be fun for the new factor, but I think the longevity from any system in wow (or really any game) comes from being able to do succeed from either failure (raiding, m+) or simply having the ability to push your skill higher (pvp, m+).
No but it will look good in the numbers: "100% of players win".
Blizzard hasn't used actual User Experience metrics in their decisions for a long time. It's all about the statistics.
I agree with your sentiment 100% but the sad truth is that many players don't, and Blizzard seems to be catering to them.. For example, a 960+ assassination rogue with the legendary pants and prydaz = literally 100% unkillable in open world pvp, but there is no shortage of them running around ganking people because they still get enjoyment out of killing people, despite the fact that they are literally immortal. WOW has been taken over by a new type of gamer, and Blizzard is playing into it.
already feeling those annoyances and oversights about warmode in prepatch. Leader should determine the parties designation or like you've suggested a warning needs to be announced, etc.
I hated being stuck with specific weapons in Legion, thank the good Lord Nobbel for making sure this changed for BFA.
I really dont lile how slow the game feels.:(
Following Preach I was super worried about class changes from his doom & gloom videos, but when I logged in the pre-patch I actually found the talent and PvP talent choices to be a lot more interesting for most of my classes. ie: Leg Sweep baseline for monks, and you can take Ring of Peace on top of that? That's pretty awesome.
Still not great, but not nearly as bad as I thought it would be.
I'm gutted with how the xpac looks tbh, truly gutted :(
lul
saying what?
hmmm, I don't know. Legion looked more promising than BfA to me. And Blizz kinda had to make ammend for 13 months of 6.2 which was one of the worst content draught the game had seen in a while.
I feel somewhat cautious about BfA. I'll play it and if it hooks me I'll stay. (I stayed subbed throughout all of Legion, which is the only xpac I've done that for since TBC).
You can summon people that have war mode but they are still phased. When you enter an instance you can see each other no issue.
I too am approaching this expansion with hesitation. There are many changes to classes that I dislike and I worry that islands will be over incentivized in terms of AP. If I’m having fun 6-8 weeks in then I’ll likely stick around but if not then yeah I’ll take a break for the expansion. I have listened to some of the music, it is outstandingly good, I am excited for that at the very least!
I like how he points out how redundant world quests are without legendaries.
Could anyone sort of help me out here? I am new to the game, started recently, got 945 ilvl holy pala, but sometimes i would like to play a ret pally for arenas and pvp, ocasionally, but when i switch and change my weapon now i do no damage, my rotation and talents are on point, but the dps output is 1/3 of my holy spec doing dps...something is terribly off... is this gonna get fixed in BFA endgame where the gear and weapons will be the same for multiple specs? (will they , will they not?) or am i better of rolling an ALT char for dps spec in pvp and stick to healing with my pally to be efficient?
Does your Ret weapon (Ashbringer) have equivalent relics? If not, your Ashbringer is probably a lot lower level than you Holy Artifact, which would lower the damage significantly.
that might be the issue mate, i thought it mattered before pre patch, but now that artifact is disabled i thought it should be more or less the same, i dont have artifact for ret pally, i just equip a 2h sword with highest item level...is that whats causing the shitty dps?
Lmfao, he didn't even replied to you because how stupid this was xD. Of course it matters, regardless of artifacts not having traits, they still have shitton of stats and ilvl...
it would be stupid for PvE matters but i was told for BG and arenas there are templates for flat out stats so its balanced hence was my question about artifact playing role in pvp, no need to call me stupid, i been playing for only a month or so....
I did't call you stupid, I just implied the case itself was stupid/hilarious, considering you didn't play Legion at all, this is the kind of bullshit new players have to put up with.
Id like to be able to select the secondary stats on the necklace; and to see reforging come back with the minimal secondary stat scaling and the ‘auto-equip’ highest ilvl thing.
Hentai mountain? tell me more
Moon Tone is it enormous and squishy? :p
so i heard it correct lol
It's a large mountain with pleasure tenticals on it which is ihabited by big titted hentai girls
It would be hilarious if blizzard put succubus on the mountain. To defeat them you would need to use a quest item that shoots white goo lol.
remember: the only difference between hentai and a fetish is hentai is shared. fetishes are an "invite only".
Hey preach, you should do a reaction video to this video now at the end of bfa. Hit the nail on the head with everything here. I’d be surprised if Ion didn’t get ideas to change bfa based off this video. Eg essences. Expac of missed opportunities for mine. They tried some new stuff, if didn’t work. Keep up the good work preach. Praying for shadowlands. 🙏
Not everyone gets paid to play the game and make TH-cam videos. I don't think the argument that you can eat through the content in a week should be made. The majority of the WoW playerbase is made up of real people, with full-time jobs. No company will ever be capable of making enough content for the people who don't work full-time jobs that aren't playing their game.
Heavily agree on the expedition stuff. Kill the other (npc) team twice and you have won. I don't see an actual AI working because they would abuse the surrounding environment or npcs to get you into trouble.
Preach I love your content so much I sat through a 2.5 minuet ad for you. Thank you sir.
Allot of players are waiting for 8.1 to decide whether to call it quits on wow. I don't think Blizzard Knows this to be true. We'll see.
If 8.0 isn't enough to call it quits at, then 8.1 sure as hell won't be. That's like being in an abusive relationship and saying "I'll leave if (s)he hits me _one more time_ " ...
Jognt no I'm giving it u til 8.1 bc I think thats when the game will be at its proper release state and I think it'll have interesting new content along with it. If 8.1 doesnt catch up bfa to what I expect in a x.1 then I'm done and I wont be coming back. I have plenty of games to take up my gaming time.
Jognt 8.1 will be a full expansion release patch. There will be allot more info by then released about where the expansion is heading. The fact is that no one wants to leave cause we love the game and the community. However players are tired of getting crapped on every expansion. Every the fact that Preach might call it quit should tell every something.
I think what will happen is expansion will go Ive it’ll get stale when people hit max give it a month or so and let those player numbers start dropping and BAM they’ll release the next set of allied races.. zandalari and kult humans. then everyone will come back for that of course..
Those Allied races are locked behind story lines. They can't just up and release them. Not till the expansion story get to that point. Also this isn't just a this expansion thing. they have been ignoring the community for over 3-4 expansions now.
Maaaan I totally forgot about how you had to build a group for world quests on the isles in BC hahaha. I feel like if you join a group and the leader has war mode on it should give you a message like you said saying it's going to turn warmode on for you. They could limit it like you can't be in combat and whatnot
I love the pre-patch but maybe that's just because I'm a fury warrior wrecking ball of meat and axes. Main thing I'm worried about as an altoholic is that there was SOOO much content with the class order hall stories and I don't know if BFA will feel empty without stuff like that
Always enjoy your points. I think Blizz took too many nest egg ideas for legion, and have ultimately left themselves scrambling to try and continue what Legion did for WoW following WoD. Do you think they will double down on historic server projects like Vanilla wow to try and keep a portion of the nostalgic playerbase attached?
Yo Preach, nice video, I'm really happy for you, Imma let you finish but, Island Expeditions are one of the best features of BfA.
What difference does War Mode make in dungeons? Surely you wont encounter other players anyway, so is it just a free rewards bonus in dungeons?
no it's only in the world no instanced content
So why would anyone run dungeons in war mode?
Everybody is affected by the GCD change. Just because someone does poor dps/doesn't know his class, he will know that he can't click button X as fast as he's used to.
I'm a casual player, and one thing I pride myself in is chaining stuff together and making the most out of my time spent. Just because I don't raid/do mythic doesn't mean I just click one ability all the time.
In terms of how classes feel: No idea how they'll evolve, but losing Blade Flurry on Outlaw *sucks* (yeah it's there, for 12 to 24 seconds, but that's not really something to write home about). Also my Disc priest feels like she's missing a heal. Plea is gone, sure thing, but now we're left with Shadow Mend which is basically our inefficient flash heal with a DoT on the player during combat and Penance. Oh, and two charges of PoH.
That's it... That's a far cry from the PoM, PoH, Divine Hymn, Heal, Greater Heal, Flash Heal, Binding Heal, Penance, Renew, Mind Blast, Holy Fire priest that I fell in love with.
I feel ya man. I used to love those juicy crits as disc and having all those extra shields going off everywhere. And really why does shadow mend even put a dot on the person anyways? Seems kinda silly having that as a healer. Suppose to be preventing damage, not creating more lol. Holy and Disc to me both feel awful now. As Holy I miss Instant PoM, Greater Heal, Power Word Shield, CoH and Binding Heal as baseline talents. Cant even spam mass dispel or dispel anymore. Talents like divine star and halo i never use. No baseline mobility talents. I could go on all day but i wont I'm trying to remain optimistic!
warmode could be done like when grouping with people from different realms, you get swapped into the leaders realm and if leader has warmode on, everyone gets warmode enabled. they should also make it so you can change warmode in rested zones
So excited for this. Could be one of the best, could be WoD. Hoping for the best
Rewatching this 6 months later and oof. Worst case scenario happened with BFA. Let’s see what 9.0 brings to the game?
And how was your 9.0 experience?
@@ToTheSCOTTnot good. But 11.0 looks good
Asmon talking smack about this video is hilarious. He is so jelly, love your content Preach. Never a dull moment😁
Preacher, you look depressed when talking about BfA, makes me feel bad for it too. I certainly feel my characters regressed in power. Yeah, it's really not a good start for a expansion
For War Mode, they can make it that you can join a war mode enabled shard but not the other way. It will negate Blizzard's restriction
Hearing Velen and Turalyon constantly blabber on about the holy light every 5 seconds got old quick, so did the whole GREEN theme as well as the themes of flying through space n' shit.. BUT Legion was still fun and I liked it overall.
HOWEVER, BFA looks really really really fucking awesome. Plus the themes hit very close to home. I'm extremely excited personally. Especially since us PvP'ers finally have gotten a lot of love this time around.. after years of no really new fun changes to the system I feel like Christmas came early this year as the Warmode system is exactly what this game needed. Scared me much at first.. but it actually seems to hold up on their ideas on it. WPvP is back boys.. finally.
I love the content, but am worried about systems, especially azerite armor. I don't mind simplifications, but grinding azerite is kind of a big deal in the expansion and the rewards jsut don't seem like a big enough deal for me. Putting points into your artifacts felt really good at the beginning (kind of a throwback to the old talent system, where you ahd a slow and steady progression that made you look forward to levelups). I jsut can't see myself being satisfied when I level up my heart of azeroth though :(
Shar Nay I had high hopes for Legion and that went well. Being reasonable here, the problems I did have in legion have been addressed in this new expansion. Being REASONABLE it would seem things look good.
With that said, why try to put someone down who's merely excited for the new content??
I agree, Arenas felt pretty good, BGs were a shitshow, nobody knows their class as good, but arenas are fucking fun!
The War Mode phasing is a serious issue. I joined a group on Argus and was unable to see my party members. Had to slog all the way to Stormwind from Argus which took so much time my party members were already done when I had made it back. Needs a way for party leader to set War Mode on or off for the entire group.
i could see that but some would abuse it. they would have to figure out a way to prevent misuse
That's a long final thought yo
Thought(s) plural?
No gearswapping is criminally bad. Yesterday in prepatch I was checking out m+ with guildies and some adds in lower Kara were bugged and needed kiting. So naturally we would them swap gear to do that to max effect (e.g. swap to mastery gear for affliction and use the slowing corruption ring). Of course we couldn't do that and the disappoint just hit all of us instantly. Just a suggestion of "Oh I can swap to x so we can kite these" was met with realisation of what we have to put up with now.
zXHipoXz you are doing 2 Large mistakes here you are thinking legion and using legion dungeons as a metric on how the system works in bfa.
havtor007 I'm aware. The reason everyone else were going to swap (and the reason I wasn't solely planning on swapping legos) was for the aoe favoured stats. Legos in a forced kiting scenario was just the cherry on the cake
@@havtor007 It was definitely exacerbated in Legion content, legendary sets etc. but trinket and even weapon swapping has been a micro optimization since the early days
@@jedidiah4004 yes and no. For pvp yes.
For pve sometimes but most of the time it was not really worth it.
As just playing the class having the right talents and those kinda things did more then what you could change your trinket outside of boss fight and in a fight you would want to use the weapons that increases your dps the most.
You are however not wrong some people did do that but often times just playing the class better would be a higher dps increase.
right. before i watch this, i want to say thank you very much for all the videos this expansion. i looked forward to your pick a main video more than i did for actual BFA. i've got a brew i'm in my boxers now ......action !
preach i've been with you for many many years . i can tell you aren't hyped for this expansion , please tell me i'm wrong dude
he has said before that he is hyped...just has enough experience to know whats going to happen a month after the expac...without something like Suramar to timegate and immerse a good portion of the player base there doesn't seem to be much to do after 120 and maxed professions and dungeon spam...hence the skeptisism.
well if anyone knows it the preacher, fingers crossed we all will be surprised
legendaries was like having 4 extra rows of talents to choose from, we are losing that in bfa for basic stat increases
The best possible news they could give us is that they are pushing the release back to about november, its plainly obvious that they need more time.
It's weird that there's a big old God presence in Stormsong when this expansion is about the Faction War and not about the Old Gods at all so strange.
Liked this one, a nice change from the last couple of videos. I hope they don’t give up on this expansion like WoD to work on the following expansion. I really hope they make th ai more widespread like trash in raids. Thanks for the relay of beta experience. I have beta but didn’t want to spoil the story for myself.
I got a question in for the a&a under @ecrium regarding azurite armor. Hopefully they get to it!
When it comes to warmode and rep, you don't get any additional rep. You only bonus Azerite, Gold, and War resources. So if you are only doing the world quests for rep you don't need to be in a group.
The rares iL gear dropped the moment it was abused in the beta. The iL is now 340 and no longer 355. The warfront last I recall still gives gear each time it's completed of iL 340 as well.
When it comes to the scrapper, It gives materials back according to the profession required to make it. A cloak will give cloth, leather gear gives skinning materials, mail gear gives skinning, plate gives ore, Trinkets give Expulsom. They also heavily nerfed it from what it was at initially. I've only seen High level gear, mostly from warfronts, break down into a good amount of materials.
Level 115 is the last level Legendaries will work at; 116 and up they will not work.
Paraphrased but the part where you say, "If warmode is on you only see other players with warmode on, if it;s off only others with it off, this is a problem." That is not a problem.
Blade Flurry change has *KILLED* my Outlaw rogue.
And it's been my main (and only character) since vanilla.
This is like putting your beloved dog to sleep because it's in pain.
Just wanted to get back to the Content-Specific-Gear you were talking about in "BfA's Potential is indeed There". Something similar actually already exists in SWTOR. They have special PvP-Gear. This gear has a special stat that increases both Damage and Healing but only in PvP. And they have a PvE set that is normal. I always liked this system and had no problem running around with two sets.
The War-mode option when forming groups got me worried, since I am so used to PuG stuf, be it outdoor content or even just to gather a group for a 5-man or raid. They should have made it, that the leader of the group would decide the entire On/Off mode for the group.
*Couple of months* legion lasted me 2 months and that had a hell of a lot more content
Cant wait to see asmongold react to this
man, imagine watching asmongold. that would suck
>open youtube
>stream yourself mouth breathing for 44mins
>ez content
Seriously wish Preacher would block him.
Thing is though Asmongold himself does not film and upload anything he just watches videos on stream that people recommend to him and then other people upload it he is not gaining from it
Asmongold is powered by shitty Twitch chat, but he's advertising for good content creators.
Preach,
I loved watching all your videos during Legion's expansion.
I've always apreciated how you are still able to look @ wow from multiple angles.
Being a mythic raider yourself you still try to look @ things from a more casual player's experience aswell.
Have a good holiday and i'm looking forward to your BFA videos.
As a Feral Druid I don't notice anything different in my rotation with the GCD changes. But Feral may just be one of those specs that didn't really get affected by it.
You can still do dungeons with people in or out of war mode. Just can’t see them outside the instance.
Preacher has never seen the ceiling of dungeons and raids.
The Mythic+ (no gear swapping) and Mythic raiding (no master looter or trading azerite gear) changes just boggle my mind. They make no sense and it really feels like Blizzard is just trying to shit on our fun for no reason other than to be dicks...
I usually don't resort to profanity like this, but I think it was needed here.
I agree man and I don't even do that content tbh. I want the people who do to get what they want though.
I don't even raid anymore, and it makes 0 sense. Its a horrible design decision.
I don't raid either so it won't affect me, but I can see how it is just terrible for raiders and it didn't harm anyone. The loot setting defaulted to Personal anyway.
it's just business... blizzard thinks if you gear up too quickly everybody will quit out of boredom.
Multikalwin Well, there will definitely be people who will quit over this. So not exactly a win either.
Honestly Vol'dun was my favourite of the zones. I loved the desert feel and enjoyed the main quest with it's twists and turns. I guess it depends how much you like vulpera. I thought i'd hate them but was pleasantly surprised.
