Phil is tired of Harper coming and going whenever she pleases. It's all about Harper, her timing, her emotions, her fears. She hasn't cared at all about Phil’s feelings, much less taking her into account in all decisions. The shooting was the perfect excuse for Harper to divert Drew's mind from what's really going on. There are still two people who knows about their affair (Boyd and Ihaia). Drew is going to find out anyway. I think Phil will seriously distance and she’s going to start to move on. That will drive Harper crazy and she will start chasing her again. It won't be that easy for her to get back with Phil. Phil won't allow it unless Harper is no longer with Drew and knowing she’s also in control of their relationship
I agree. I think Phil will start to move on, somehow Drew will find out it happened and leave Harper, and then Harper will be back to chasing Phil. I don't believe Ihaia's fully gone either - that was a short arc for him, and there was no formal announcement the actor left.

i’m confused so a few weeks ago they went through a life and death situation with the earthquake and harper said that convinced her she was in love with phil and didn’t want to lose her now this happens and now she decides she actually loves drew and doesn’t want to lose him? man these writers switch up fast

This is exactly how the storyline should have gone. I never expected Harper to just leave her marriage. There will be some angst, a lot of contemplation, and a few more showing up at Phil's doorstep before she ends things with Drew.

But definitely uncharacteristically dishonest with each other still which is not great.
As Harphil fan this is just disappointing, but maybe it's the right thing for Phil, so she can move on... In fact, what kind of relationship could they have had in the future? They're on different phases of their lives. Phil is young, free, no responsabilities, except to herself. Harper is more mature, carrying with her a big emotional baggage. Despite her feelings towards Phil, her priorities are different (her kids), so it would have been a train destined to derail sooner or later. Additionally Harper tells Drew she loves him so, maybe, she cares about Phil, but not enough to blow up her marriage. So, 'cause I love Phil character I wish her an emotional, real, passionate and durable love story, without any roller-coaster
While I'm certainly not exactly happy at this being the return on our investment, the acting on display from everyone is really something. Also I'm glad that Nicole seems to realise that she needs help and is looking to make up for how she's been absolutely horrible to everyone. However I'm just so underwhelmed by the ending of the Phil and Harper stuff but even the shooter storyline felt so damn inconsequential.
Maybe I'll say an awful thing, but I don't see any chemistry between Harper and Phil in this episode, I don't know why. It seems to me that maybe writers just decided to end this story in this way🤔

This is why I hate cheating storlines involving married people, I can never really root for the cheaters unless someone's trying to leave an abusive relationship, and even then, the circumstances aren't great. Give me good old single people meeting and falling for each other, late in life gay awakening, or even the tried and true closet case that falls in love with an out and proud person.😂❤
What about when the other half of the relationship is completely absent from the long lasting marriage (save a few letters and phonecalls once in a while and three or four weekend-long visits per year)? Eventually the one left alone begins to discover their true self while falling completely in love with an other person (at the same time also discovering the love of their life). And not a stranger either, as they had known each other since they were kids. Then the spouse one day returns and decides to stay permanently, not knowing what's been going on in their absence. They also later on turn out to be a fairly decent human being who is sadly suffering from terminal cancer, having an inoperable brain tumour. This all being set on a time period when divorce wasn't a thing. What if this was the situation?😀
