In my view, what makes Omar's videos so good, is not just the amazing content but the really friendly, relaxed way he talks to us. He really engages with his audience and makes you want to hear more. A rare talent.
On top of all that, I think what really stands out is how much he shows the work, not just tells you about it. He doesn't just have example photos over his talking, either. But really diving in with his notes and diagrams really emphasises the details he's talking about.
Man, Omar - I hope you realize how many people you’re helping to become infinitely better, calmer, more confident photographers by so consistently, humbly, and clearly sharing your wisdom with us. It feels cheesy to say so, but your videos feel like conversations with a friend, and that’s an incredibly rare thing. Thank you for taking the time you do to share all that you’ve learned with the rest of us. I’m one of many people who are better, wiser, and yes - less anxious because you have! 🙏🏻
Whenever I watch your video, I find this channel is severely underrated. I know you don't care too much on the number of subscribers or fame since you chased away brand fanboys before. But I hope these videos reach more people.. I had to watch twice and sometimes pause to read all the notes. Those are amazing examples.
I agree with all of the positive feedack. When you post a new video, I watch it asap and greatly look forward to the next one. Your knowledge, skill and presentation style is enjoyable, which contributes to making the content memorable. Thank you for being here and doing what you're doing!
Wall-to-wall solid gold advice! Omar, this really hit the spot. It is an excellent way to learn, to have someone walk through their thought process, and then having the split-screen with the sample photos illustrating your point - this is really top-notch! Thank you!
Might just be your best ever video, master class information. Loved the walk through with outlines and your hand trick can't wait to get out a apply some new trade craft.
Excellent advice, much of which I would never have thought of and gone through years of learning to pick up. Love your friendly, humorous, relaxed style. You really have a talent for teaching/instructing as well as for just making great video's. Many thanks.
I'm a long-time subscriber, but have to confess I've been less consistent in watching given the number of Nikon videos - that said, this ranks at the top of your work. I will definitely point any newer photographers to this.
I am a hobbyist photographer mainly when traveling on vacation, family events and holiday's. Your video's are so informative and helpful for us amateur. Thanks for sharing your wisdom.
Another great video! Saved in my references here. Your way to talk to us and the fact that you really work with portraits (and it's not just "another youtuber reviewer") is so great! Thanks for this channel
I love the way you explain everything with a taste of a "stand-up show".... watch every video even sometimes the ones that I'm not really interested in the subject too much. Love your positive energy... and of course I've learned a lot from your videos even though I'm a photographer since 20+ years. No end for learning. Thanks for the great effort (which I know needs much for such videos and explanations) and thanks for being there for us Omar. You are just great. Greetings from Istanbul/Turkey.
Always enjoyable but this was even better than usual. A veritable book's worth of advice, which was greatly enhanced by the accompanying marked-up photos. I watch fewer and fewer photography videos but I always watch Omar.
Thanks for this Omar! If you're ever looking for ideas for a video, I'd love to see one on how you approach posing. There's so many photography videos on lighting and technical things, not enough good ones that address how to get poses and expressions right.
Thanks for the useful information. I have a session next weekend. The client chose the location they want to shoot. A new building I’m not familiar with. I’m going to check it out. Your photos are amazing!❤
Wow Omar, I am so grateful to you for making this video and for sharing your knowledge. What you have shared will hopefully help change my game when doing the portraits as I'm mainly shooting bar/bat mitzvah's. It will also hugely help with my other photography work as well and make me think very differently now before pressing the shutter. Thank you 🙏
Your advice on light was very helpful. I don't take into account how much light bounces off colored surfaces influences the cast or temperature of areas of your subject. Also, after waiting your video on planning your shoot, I have used your Google Maps suggestions to help with vacation photography. I can advance scout an town I will be visiting for a limited amount time.
Wonderful video! The tips here can apply to many other types of photography. I photograph a lot of flowers and gardens so being aware of light and the color cast is useful. ❤
Bending your hand when checking the light also gives you a sence of direcction. If light comes from above you get a shadow in your hand. I.e the raccoon eyes...
I knew that was JC in the opening shot. 😃 Hi Omar! Army combat Veteran here who uses dancing & photography as therapy. Let me know if you have any shoots coming up where you need an assistant or anything. This was the third video I've seen of yours & subscribed now. Keep it up.😎🤙
Brother please make new video on editing, I saw 3 videos you made few years ago. Love them. I would request you to do more please please. Can not find that education anywhere.
Hi Omar - Do you really only bring one light for on-location shots? Or do you sometimes use more lights and modifiers? I’ve seen your older videos where you use big light modifiers.
Do you ever try clean backgrounds with grungy people?😂 Just kidding. Interesting for someone like me who's never been into portrait photography much. And I knew what your bonus tip was going to be... Much of what you covered in the video couldn't be arranged without a prep visit to the location!
"In photography, amateurs worry about their equipment and social media. Professionals worry about money and orders. The master, however, worries about the light!"
In my view, what makes Omar's videos so good, is not just the amazing content but the really friendly, relaxed way he talks to us. He really engages with his audience and makes you want to hear more. A rare talent.
All of the above and also his funny sense of humour and his quick wittiness.
On top of all that, I think what really stands out is how much he shows the work, not just tells you about it. He doesn't just have example photos over his talking, either. But really diving in with his notes and diagrams really emphasises the details he's talking about.

One of the best videos on outdoor portrait photography I‘ve seen in a while. Great information, thank you.
Wow! That is a lot to think about when taking a portrait type photo shoot. Amazing insight. Thank you for this info.
😎👍
Now this is a useful video! Real info, now sponsor bs. Thanks Omar!
One of the best portrait videos I've seen in 10 years, thanks!

Rare combination of knowledge and teaching flair. Inspirational!

Thank you Omar for sharing! 😘
Lovely images ... and the checking of light with your palms ... thats ingenious ...
Thank you so much.
You teach like the dad I never had.
Thank you.
So nice of you
Omar, this video is very helpful and well presented. Great help!!!
Tks for the tips Omar
Terrific advice! I especially like the suggestion of using the angled, receding wall for the head shot with the 85mm.

Wow, thank you!
Excellent video 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿!
Great video and tips from the boss.
This videos of hints are the best. The one with family poses I used until today in my company here in Brasil.
Fantastic video! It captures the essentials in a really unpretentious way and uses tons of examples.
Always enjoyable but this was even better than usual. A veritable book's worth of advice, which was greatly enhanced by the accompanying marked-up photos. I watch fewer and fewer photography videos but I always watch Omar.
Good stuff! Thanks for the tips. Duly noted.
This is high-quality content!

Learned a lot in this video
Do you recommend Fujifilm XT20 in 2024? What price is good for only used body? And for only used lens?
Great thank you
Omar… another great video but my anxiety just went up 🤪🤪 My head is spinning. Anyway, thanks for the great advice 👍🏾
Great video! I have the 40 f2 looking for a little wider do you think the new 35 f1.4 is a good upgrade?
I love this baldman 😃
I knew that was JC in the opening shot. 😃

Hi Omar - Do you really only bring one light for on-location shots? Or do you sometimes use more lights and modifiers? I’ve seen your older videos where you use big light modifiers.
Usually one outdoors. Multiple indoors
It's all about the light.
