  • Easy DIY Patio/Deck double ice box cooler/Bar. In this video I will be showing you how to make this awesome cooler stand or outdoor bar that would make a perfect addition to any porch, patio or deck. I'll show you how to build the wooden side style as well as the galvanized side style.
    This project has huge selling potential (because it's functional) with crazy high profit possibility! As far as pricing goes you will need to assess your local market and decide from there. What makes this build so great is that your potential customer base is anyone with a porch, patio, deck or pool!

    The caulk goes on white but dries clear. You can see in the part where you're installing the coolers that it's clear. I found this out on accident when I grabbed the wrong caulk and carefully did the best caulk job of my life in my brand new shower and tub surround. I was impressed with myself until I tried to show it off and it looked like I never caulked it at all! Lol

    I’m so glad I found you! I’m a Registered Nurse that retired this year. I’ve always had an interest in wood working so I started learning some woodworking skills in August. I’ve built a few small things. I also love the advice and tips you give. I just ordered and received some of your plans from your Etsy shop. I’ll be going to the lumber store tomorrow to start on the plans I’ve gotten from you. Thanks again!

    I built a single cooler one for my wife and I to use. I had a bunch of skids from my machinery that I used for everything except the frame. I used a cooler that had handles and lid hinges that screwed on so it was easy to modify. I used a torch to burn the frame very dark and lightly burned the panels. Coated the whole thing with spar varnish. Looks great and makes outdoor parties great!

    My husband bought me that Kreg's pocket hole machine, the rip cut guide and the guide track for Christmas last year! I love them!! He also bought me a DeWalt cordless saw with 7 1/4" blade! We have been building my woodshop. Just purchased a 13 1/2" DeWalt planner off Amazon! Super excited about the wood shop!! I wanted a job I can work from home because I need to be here for the homestead too. Looking to grow my business here in Iowa even faster with your amazing ideas!! Thank you so very much for all of your help! YOU ROCK!

    I love the box having two sides metal and two sides wood. My father was a sheet-metal man, so that’s why I love the metal. But he also had a wood pile and a woodstove. In fact, he still does. He’s 91, still chopping wood. Great job with the metal and the wood.

    I've been making the single version of these for years. I even use the same 48 qt cooler! I have all my templates and jigs set up for fast construction. I use old fence panels, the pickets are already weathered, and best of all they're free! It's a great side gig and fun to do. I love your videos, and I made some of the snowflakes to hang with our Christmas decor. Keep up the good work! 🤘🪚

    I made a bar for my aunt and uncle and used reclaimed tin from our barn to face it, I did metal because they wanted to be able to move the bar inside when they weren’t using it and I figured it would be a lot lighter than wood and it ended up looking really cool!

    • @MatthewPeechWoodworking
      @MatthewPeechWoodworking  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes! I bet the reclaimed tin looked awesome!

    • @JamesSmullins
      @JamesSmullins ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Old rusty tin is popular right now for all sorts of stuff, surface rust not full of holes and sharp edges.

    • @isaiahshaffer
      @isaiahshaffer ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@JamesSmullins I actually put the underside out so there was light surface rust but it was the old worn galvanized look too and the stamps were still on it from where it came and what year and stuff, the top had been weathered too much and painted too many times to have the same appeal

    • @JamesSmullins
      @JamesSmullins ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@isaiahshaffer that works, I like that old look much better than the shiny new tin, and it sells better. I learned this at a restaurant I managed that was a very old building, nearly 100 years old. The outside open eating area had a four foot wall around the covered portion that was old rusty surfaced tin. People loved the rustic look and it fit perfectly with the area being a historical district. I loved that place and I was the primary pizza cook for years in a mesquite brick oven outside with the customers, that was also wrapped in the old tin. I got to talk to every customer about the food and atmosphere and that old look was what made people eat in more than take out. We were a bring your bottle and had a couple single coolers people could put their beer, wine or liquor in and have it near their table.
      I miss that place even though it was 1200 degrees in front of that oven, new owners ran it out of business and lost all the charm that brought people there.
      Old is in

    • @isaiahshaffer
      @isaiahshaffer ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@JamesSmullins I agree and that sounds really neat, it’s a shame the new owners ran it down, old is definitely in, especially the old industrial or barn type styles, there is a brewery about 45 minutes away from me and they took and old railway station, like factory sized because they stored grain and goods there and also had rooms for people to stay, the place is massive, but they took it and just cleaned it up, added old iron braces to the timber framing where it needed it and patched brick work but other than that is just cleaned up to how it was, and it’s always very crowded

    My only change would be to add a base for the coolers, the downside for me to the hanging brackets is if at some point down the road I have to replace the coolers, the replacement coolers might not have the exact same shape/measurements to fit the brackets.
    This one is added to my to-build list for sure, awesome stuff as always man!

    Awesome Awesome Awesome! I made something similar for a friend a few years ago, but not nearly as nice as yours as it was the first one I'd ever made and I was kinda making it up as I went along ... I will definitely make this one. Thank you for the outstanding video. You are both a great builder AND a great teacher ... !

    Very well done project with nice touches; black iron pipe, upgraded hinges and the corner protectors. Excellent plans that maximize the wood usage, I will probably add a urethane to the top since it will be getting wet. Wonderful project for when the weather cools off here in Las Vegas. "Top Drawer" video and audio (even hoarse). Love your channel.

    Going to build this, but will recess the coolers to create a flat surface across the top as a prep space. 🤔 💡

    I follow two Woodworkers on YT, an unmentioned one just posted a video talking about his husky tool chest (nobody cares). Then you have Matt here posting good content inspiring us with builds and the wisdom/knowledge to further our craft. I’m not knocking the other one, but Matthew Peech is truly underrated and I hope his channel blows up more. Great vid Matt.

    Love the content and your method of explaining what you are doing makes it so easy to follow! Definitely adding this to list of projects I am going to try and tackle. A few changes I would probably make is to pipe both coolers into a single drain and maybe use some construction adhesive or silicone to attach cooler tops so I don’t have to worry about filling the screw holes on side. Keep the awesome content coming!!!

    Another awesome video Matt!!! I really love your theme of repurposing inexpensive fence boards into upscale projects. I also love the customization options of your builds. If you don't need 2 coolers, just shrink the width down to a single cooler size. Or omit the 2nd cooler and put in some cold food serving trays or even some sterno heated steam/chafing trays for hot food. Lots of possibilities to another great Matt Peech design!

      Thanks David! I almost redesigned it (again) after I was finished... I wish that I had closed one side in to the bottom and made it a lift top trash can. Would be perfect for outdoor gatherings.
