Carnival Glory secret places and features

- An introduction to a few features of the Carnival Glory cruise ship that are less than obvious. There are public spaces on the ship that you might not discover on your own. Carnival doesn't keep these places secret on purpose... it's just that they're so out-of-the-way that a lot of people never find them.
From the very well hidden 8th Jacuzzi... to the "secret" observation decks... the restaurant hiding in plain sight... and the best cruise ship feature during a Caribbean thundershower... I'll introduce you to a few things about the Carnival Glory that you might not figure out yourself.
Many of the things mentioned in this video apply to all Conquest-class ships in the Carnival fleet... not just the Carnival Glory.
Just got back from a cruise on the Glory - there are 6 whirlpools now. The one at the bottom of the slides is gone, and there's a second slide in its place. The one in the fitness center is also gone - they took it out about a year ago, and Carnival still has yet to update its website.
FYI - travelers with me didn't know ahead of time, but swimming pools are salt water. The whirlpools are fresh water. The pool showers around the ship are fresh water showers - nice for getting out of the salt water pools.
The access to deck 6 and 7 was definitely secret - nobody else was up there, and we only visited it once during the week.
The Fish n Chips restaurant on Deck 10 is now a BBQ restaurant. I've heard it was good, but we did not visit that.
In the Ebony Cabaret (where the video references Quest), if you are attending the stand-up comedy shows you want to GET THERE EARLY. More so for the adult show - it's packed and standing room only. I did not see that they did the Quest game during our cruise.

We are going on a cruise on this ship in a few weeks. Is Guy’s Restaurant still there? We went on this ship years ago and remember that being one of our favorite things.
Did you notice if the laundromat takes sail and sign now instead of quarters? Hubby likes to do the laundry before we pack up for disembarking.

astrogliding that is what i heard happened when it dry docked. They took it out to make the big slide area is what i was told.

Love this video. I generally go searching for secluded areas of the ship, when I cruise. These can be great places for introspection, and can provide a great retreat for my wife and I to enjoy the romance of the sea.

Got back not long ago from the Glory with my new wife. First cruise either of us ever took. Lovely boat. I wish I'd have seen this video before hand. I miss it already. Absolutely loved the Glory. Another great under uses place for relaxing and taking a break from the crowds is the piano bar. Full service drinks and an amazing atmosphere to decompress after a day of activity.
Worst part of the cruise is having to leave.

This is a video I made quite a few years ago... so, I imagine a lot has changed since then.

Please be aware that I made that video several years ago and that things have changed on the Carnival Glory since then. For example, I don't think that Jacuzzi inside the gym exists anymore! But much of what you saw on the video will still be true.

Hello everyone I just got off the glory and some of this info has changed. First the whirlpool in the spa/gym area has been removed, that room is now used for spin cycling. The restaurant fish and chips is no longer located above the lido buffet, it has been replaced by old fashioned bbq, but it is no frequented much so it does seem pretty hidden. Deck three does offer uncrowded and lots of sitting room. The Aft pool is no longer adult only and it usually very crowded. The Ivory club didn't seem secret at all as it was destination spot for our Muster drill, plus its opposite of the upper deck of the Platinum dining room and almost every night music was performed for those going to the dining room but he is right not much else going on in there. I never really checked out the internet cafe, I had no reason to I was on a cruise. I did walk past the laundry room on our deck several times and never used it, I would suggest bringing quarters like he says. We did notice the colors on the ship changing often, we were especially aware do to this awesome video. If you are going aboard the beautiful Carnival Glory enjoy your cruise and explore all the tips this video gave you.

In all my experiences, those empty hot tubs in Carnival spas require you to be in a spa suite or pay the enormous daily spa fee. You need a special card key to get in.
On some Carnival ships, yes. That was not the situation on this ship when I shot the video, though.
This Saturday my first cruise ever on the glory
I know this video is a few years old now, but for those wondering: the Internet Cafe no longer exists. It's now the "Dreams Studios" for black & white portrait photography. What's interesting is the signs for the cafe are still in place and still lit (they read "Cyberspace').
Also "Carnival Quest" is now held in the Ivory Lounge :).

The front whirlpool was recently removed when the ship was in dry dock. Now its just a wood floor space for working out for spinning and yoga.

We used this video to plan our trip and enjoyed it! There are a couple of updates as others have noted. The Fish & Chips restaurant has been replaced by a BBQ restaurant as noted earlier but there is an a la carte “Seafood Shack” next to Aft Pool across from Pizza Pirate. The aft pool is going to be family-friendly now - Carnival changed the policy on it just recently!

There are almost certainly going to be stairs involved in getting on and off the tenders in Belize during a cruise on the Carnival Glory.
In 2017 it is really different I went on it for a week so maybe you could do an updated version and you'll see how different it is
laundry dont take quarters anymore either...we were on at the end of june and I used my sign and sail card to do my laundry
sir...the Glory was my first cruise ship...I had my room was in the forward of ship...sir ...this was the best room...with the biggest bathroom I have been in...in my all other restrooms
You missed the best part-what happens on the other side of the crew only doors. Cramped living conditions but great parties and a 70/30 breakdown between the men and the women. That was a big plus during the crew parties :-)
I definitely need a friend in the crew who can sneak me in to one of those crew parties some time!

I think I'd have to sign up to be a videographer. Or perhaps I'd work for the entertainment staff... specializing in calling the bingo games. The bingo callers get to inject a lot of humor in to their "show"... I think I might be good at that!

For the hot tub one it's now only seven they took away the kids pool with the water parks addition.

Yes
Yeah these work for all conquest class ships as well as destiny class except for the Sunshine

Yes, that's something that just about all cruise lines charge extra for.
The location of that hot tub is weird lol That would take some finding on your own

davva360 I was on the glory October 2015 and used that pool and spa. One thing that has changed is the a la Carte seafood shack has taken over the fish and chips on deck 10.
Unfortunately, it is no longer there. It's now a yoga studio... :(

I've done 25 cruises with Carnival, but I don't think I ever made it on to the Triumph. I've cruised on many of her sister ships, though. That's a really nice class of ships. She's well equipped, and she's currently sailing out of one of the most fun home ports in the entire world... New Orleans... so you can't go too far wrong booking a cruise on the Triumph!
you should try it it gets a bad rap from its little accident so not that many people on it not that crowded

The one nobody finds.... it's because you have to have a spa cabin or pay extra for a key to get to it. Spa pools on most ships are usually an expense most don't want to waste money on.

If you're referring to the Jacuzzi in the gym, it was always available to all passengers at no additional charge.
But... I don't think it exists anymore! I made this video years ago, and the ship has been remodeled since then. I think I read that the Jacuzzi in the gym was removed.

Totally free for anyone to use. It's part of the fitness center (gym) and there is no charge.

The Fish & Chips Restaurant has great fish, but as soon as it gets remodeled into the "Seafood Shack", the fish won't be free anymore, but will also be served at dinner

I don't care what they say, Carnival Cruises always have been, and always be the KMart of cruises. there are so many other cruise lines that are so much better and at about the same pricing.
I think you're completely out of touch with what's been happening with Carnival in recent years. I bet it's been a long time since you cruised on Carnival, if you've ever actually cruised with them at all. The Carnival Vista class, with the un-crowded Havana area at the back of the ship, is absolutely incredible for anyone looking for a quiet and relaxed cruise without noise and without kids. It's one of the best ways to cruise that I've found. It's hugely less expensive than any other cruise experience which offers a comparable level of un-crowding and quiet. A tremendous value. I've got two cruises booked on Vista-class ships over the next 18 months. When was the last time you cruised on Carnival?
