  • In January 2021, our father, brother, legend, role model and hero, Samuel Ladoke Akintola who was and is a great man in life and death is 55 years gone into the other world.
    Ladoke Akintola was born on July 6, 1910 and was assassinated on Saturday, 15 January, 1966 with 22 others. Some of them are Prime Minister Abubakar Tafawa Balewa; Premier Ahmadu Bello; Premier Samuel Ladoke Akintola; Finance Minister Festus Okotie-Eboh; Ahmed Ben Musa, Senior Assistant Secretary for Security; Hafsatu Bello; Mrs Latifat Ademulegun; Zarumi Sardauna; Ahmed Pategi, Government driver.
    The 1966 Nigerian coup d'état began (15 - 16 January 1966) when insubordinate Nigerian soldiers led by Chukwuma Kaduna Nzeogwu and Emmanuel Ifeajuna killed 22 people (Civilians, Police and Military officers), their wives, and sentinels on protective duty.
