hmmm my interpretation of this song is that gumi and her friend (or someone important to her) got into a accident. Her friend died and gumi got amnesia but gumi still remembers her friend a bit and then eventually regains her memory at the end.

i think this could represent someone prehaps being compared to their old self and trying to figure out how they were so different
This song sounds like someone is dealing with the loss of a loved one, using denial or simply pushing the event out of their head as a coping mechanism. Only now are they trying to come to terms with the pain that they forced out of their memory, try to recall the person they attempted to erase from their mind in hopes of leaving the trauma behind them, to finally move on. They are tired of the insomnia and the feeling of dread that has plagued their mind; they finally want to reflect on the one that they had forced themself to forget.
My interpretation of this song is that gumi has a twin who died from a accident when they were riding the train to school. That would explain the white girl's uniform.
"I sleep all alone
Between a blanket and a bed, stuck back at home" would represent how maybe as kids they shared the same bed, it happens.
It also would explain why the both of them look so similar as they would be identical twins.
"That I really, had forgotten, all the sounds, that you had shared with me" would represent as to how they had spent so much time with each other throughout their lives.
I don't know by this point, I just think this is what the song's story is. XP

thinking about it and this is actually sad
i think this song could be about trying to find out/remember what and who you feel like you really are, and the metaphor of a donut and donut holes could represent feeling like just an empty shell with no self filling it.
the singer could be referring to themself like they’re someone else that they’re trying to find/remember could be in reference to a longing for being complete, a full donut.
the beginning of the song where she says “where did i get all these memories?” and other related lyrics could represent forgetting who you were in the past, and possibly the futility of remembering who you were in the past in favour of who you could be.
something that stands out to me in the actual music video is the scene where gumi is waiting for the train to pass. i might be looking too far in, but i think this could represent wanting to commit suicide because you feel useless due to not feeling like you’re a whole person, but also waiting for the realisation of who you really could be.
“bye bye, see you later, we won’t meet again” could be in reference to the aforementioned suicide, however i’d prefer to think that it’s saying “goodbye” to the empty “you”, but having anxieties that it could always come back, and then having hope that you could really be finding who you truly are.
my favourite part is the end. it’s rather simple, and quite anticlimactic, honestly. the lyrics “i finally know your name is-!” means that you’ve finally found your truth. your self. your donut hole.

On September 1st, 2016 I decided I'd change schools because my family moved. I could've stayed at Menisa Elementary, but I didn't. I can't remember most of my friends, the teachers, even the one who gave me a book at the end of grade two.

your voice is just beautifull and you hit every note perfect. The only thing i have to complain about is that you sometimes spoke unclear (at the parts where you had to sing very fast). Which is understandable since its a japanese song where they speak rather fast.

Soo... what I'm getting out of this is song follows Identical twins that were very close who then get into a accident involving a train, one dies on impact and the other is hospitalised can Her condition worsens with Her memory worsening at the same time doctors are then convicted that there they can do so they allow Her to go home so that She die with comfort(Hospital Beds are not the most comfortable thing in the world) just for Her to suddenly start making a recovery whilst at home with that recoveries catalyst seemingly being that She manages to Remember Her twin.
