At the mouth of the Canche, the elegant resort of Le Touquet-Paris-Plage is an unmissable stop on any tour of Pas-de-Calais. It is pleasant in all seasons, so come and enjoy invigorating walks by the sea or on the long, sandy beach. Sand yachters can also enjoy their hobby to their heart's content.
What's more, this charming town on the Opal Coast has a beautiful Anglo-Norman architectural heritage represented by some pretty villas nestling in the pine forests. In fact there is a circuit to help you discover them along with other prestigious buildings like the town hall, a real architectural masterpiece. A total of 18 sites, all listed Historic Monuments and some dating back to the Roaring Twenties, are dotted along the route. The Canche lighthouse towers over the town centre from a height of 57 metres. If you are not put off by the 274 steps, feel free to climb up to the top!
To discover the natural environment, head to the Bay of Canche Nature Park. Easily accessible on foot or by bike from the town centre, enjoy an outing through the dunes, beachgrass or pine forest. The forest also has a museum converted from a 30s home, where around 800 works by local artists are on display.
