- Sharing my first impressions of the FSR 3.1 update in GOT, on 3 different graphics cards - the RX 6600, the RX 5700 XT and the RX 6900 XT! I tested adequate settings and resolutions for each graphics card, as well as a baseline 1080p High for a bit of a comparison.

hopefully FSR 3.1 gonna come to more popular titles soon, as games are getting more and more demanding and most people only have a GPU equivalent to a 6700XT or below that, we really need a good alternative to DLSS
nvidia just needs to stop being greedy and bring frame gen to 20/30 rtx gpus
Spider-Man , Horizon forbidden west , ghost of tsushima ratchet and clank rift apart and God of war Ragnorak are good and big titles for the launch of 3.1 . Other games will follow soon
@@50H3i1 I'd like to see FSR 3.1 for something like CP2077 or esports titles. Say you're getting like 120 fps in overwatch and turn on FG so you get 200. I doubt you'd feel any input lag.
@@ThunderTheBlackShadowKitty I disagree for esport titles, you may not feel it but FG will add latency and would be a lot of work for titles that already run on most computers
@@trillmixin6999 it was hacked almost half a year ago. Everybody plays well with FG on RTX 20|30, no problem at all

@@The.Y.J. Check out reviews on 5700xt on the likes of gamers nexus /hardware unboxed or jayztwocents, all their reviews cover both gaming and productivity benchmarks. but a general YES 5700XT is a great card for 1080p high 60FPS+ in most titles
also look up 5700xt benchmarks 2019 to 2024 etc for an idea of how it runs most modern titles
@steviebhoy25 I saw a video on ytb recently shows that rx 5700 xt is equal to rtx 2080 in premier and davinci mostly I m gonna go with tge amd choice

Can confirm. My Pulse model never gets warm and does not go over 100W.

@@stolenchaser yeah only some models have unlocked power limit to 120w, but thankfully those with 100w power limit can be easily unlocked with MPT
rdna2 doesn't report full power usage it's actually around 130w

Nice to see some updates from AMD, again! Ive said it about 10 times in the youtube comments. Ghost of Tsushima is the best optimized game ive ever played. Not a single hiccup. No loading screens. No stutters. It ran like a clock on my RX 7700 XT with 5800X3D. The only thing I did was keep the AMD driver a version behind, since the latest version was giving people issues. I finished the game by the time I need to update my driver. What a pleasure!
This looks impressive. I'm going to re install my RX 6700 XT to do my own experimentation.
I just looked for it on the shelf and also found my old RX 5700 XT and a RX 6600 XT.

I'm impressed by the looks of FSR3.1. Personally, I would be completely fine with it. At this point, it's more my eyes' fault than the tech's fault, lol.

Yo Kryzzp I suggest you use the "Exclusive Fullscreen" option in the launcher/settings as it gives you better performance compared to the normal Fullscreen mode (possibly due to Fullscreen being fullscreen windowed and Exclusive being normal fullscreen?)

FSR 3.1 Frame gen with DLSS quality works really well on my 3060 12GB at 1440p, I'm getting around 100+ FPS with dips into the 90s in certain areas with the very high settings preset and the input lag isn't that bad once I turned reflex on.

My brother has been loving this game! I have a rx 5500xt and 3600 with setting on high with quality scaling, and imo the frame gen is a lil glitchy, but 90+ fps with no lag is insane! :0 As soon bro started playing, he hasnt stopped! As someone who was using lsfg for almost every AAA game for max setting visuals before (cyberpunk), now with this being open source, i hope lossless scaling gets updated so we can add it to any game; would be awesome!!

I wonder how these cards would perform in Horizon Forbidden West with FSR 3.1 Frame Generation ON? Game got the official update just like this game but far as I can see from other videos, it's still very VRAM demanding like DLSS3 FG and can cause inconsistent frame-times on 8GB and 6GB VRAM cards even on 1080p High/Med settings..Nice video btw 👍

I tested today with Horizon FW, and I was very impressed, CPU usesage went up to 50% 5800x and my GPU 4070S was pegged at 97-99% 190watt at all time. Also super smooth frame times, I have never had such smooth frame times in that game, If you wonder why I use FSR 3.1 instead of DLSS plus frame gen, I game on Linux and on Linux only DLSS / DLAA is an option, but now I can use FSR frame gen and DLAA or FSR 3.1 thought FSR Native res looked better than DLAA or the same as DLAA but I got a boost in frames from about 70-90 fps to 120 fps.
can i ask you zworms cuz i have 1440p monitor and rx 6600 but i have i5 10400f should i upgrade only asus rog motherboard or tuf gaming and i7 14700k with 32gb and i can play games with fsr 3.1 on 1440p high setting my gpu still will hold newest games?
After i switch from Nvidia to RX 5700 XT, my PC keeps restarting in this game. I have tried several solutions, and nothing fixed it.
I hope they fix ghosting in next update and they make it so that fsr makes the image less soft and blurry

FSR 3.1 isn't in those games yet!
I still have that mini PC but it wasn't too popular unfortunately, so I probably won't be testing it further

I might look weird by saying this but if I would have two options to play with 70 ish fps and high settings natively or same settings with 100 fps and Fsr 3.1 I would choose to play with fsr 3.1 cuz I don't mind it and extra 30 fps feels way smoother on 144hz panel

With more than 60 hours of game my average FPS with a 6700 XT and frame generation (no FSR) playing in 1080p with ultra settings and everything maxed out is 216. It's a very nice gaming experience. Just for the sake of completeness to this video.

I cant wait it gets implemented in Avatar frontiers of pandora. Fsr in that game was very noisy specially in water reflections and also in movement it caused lot of shimmering.

No offense but why would you buy them? Both are very weak, also 4 gb is not enough even on low in recent games. Idk where you live but if u can find vega 56 for cheap, under 100 euro /$ and low on budget that is pkey optipn, also 5700xt

Why there's not 1440p in rx 6600
I think the craziest part sbout fsr 3.1 is it further upgraded nvidia gpus to have an even further advantage with it. You can now use frame generation with far 3.1 unlike 3.0. So amd went and further improved nvidia lol.
It is the most welcomed update for 3000 and 2000 series GPUs. Now you can use DLSS+FSRFG at the same time wich is 99% like DLSSFG.
FSRFG is actually better than DLSSFG as it gets way more frames than it somehow

I don't need AMD to be as good as nvidia, just holding its ground is enough. FSR 3.1 is a great step towards it, now decent raytracing is needed
