- A Warm Place (Stella Soleil Mix). This is quite possibly my favourite Nine Inch Nails remix. You can find this song on ninremix.com along with loads of other remixes of Nine Inch Nails songs both fan-made and official. A Warm Place is my favourite song from The Downward Spiral album and I also love female vocals so this is a perfect pairing in my oppinion.
" Water rolls down the skin like tiny beads
Eyes close so that they might see
Illum tangendo
This sun is a star in someone else's sky
Illum tangendo
This moon is making someone cry
Illum tangendo "
Illum Tangendo means "touching him" in Latin.
your latin is legit
I love how she breaks up the words. Such a unique and beautiful creative decision. I wonder how that came about.

I come back after almost what.. 13 years? Amazing how timeless NiN and this cover is. I am in love with this masterpiece. ❤
I am listening to this for the first time.
This is amazing

I’m randomly coming back to this after 13 years too, middle of the night, and just stunned.
I have no words for how much I love this song
cassidy ladden same
Same
It is outrageously good
Literal goosebumps. Especially on quality headphones, omg.
I never thought anyone could add lyrics to this song and pull it off but wow this is mindblowing
@ODIN Force Damn, i made that comment 10 years ago and it's still valid
I'm convinced only Stella could have done this justice. This was perfect!
The first time I heard this track, I was almost paralysed. The added vocal was everything I could have ever wanted this amazing piece music to become. I felt like it was complete and I just had tears rolling down my fave and even 10 or so years later I can't really explain it but I always come back to it and can never quite work out if it makes me happy or sad. Its just power!
I want it back. I want it all back and I know that it can never be. I feel it sometimes, deep in my bones pressuring my soul… Sometimes I night when everyone’s asleep I pretend it isn’t over, and you’re just downstairs in the kitchen getting some water.
Then. I. Come. Back… to a reality that is… Empty

'The best thing about life is knowing you put it together'
This still leaves me in a fetal position if I hear it on a good sound system. Its like a religious experience.
I remember reading an interview where he mentioned that the Sister Soleil album was one of his favorites at the time...glad to see that she's a fan of his, too
Apparently she wanted to work with him for a long time but everyone kept telling her she was “too pop” for Trent. She initially created this song behind his back, but when he heard it he liked it so much he asked if she wanted to re-record the vocals in his studio in New Orleans.
This track is almost what holding someone feels like
Stella Bella told me herself over chocolates at 3 am how this got made. Its a story you can't just forget.
This is probably my favorite NIN remix. The vocals really inhance the beauty of an already great song. I only wish it was a little bit longer.
Man... I miss my childhood... This makes me want to cry...

Illum tangendo....
I love you ❤️🖤❤️
I did not think Warm Place could be any better until now. This is possibly the best remix I’ve heard in all my years of TH-cam black holes
I first heard this almost five years ago. I downloaded it off the nin remix site and its been in my playlist ever since. It never gets old. Shame it was never officially released.
I found this mix on NIN official website and fell completely in love w/ it. Thanks for putting it up!
No ones ever pulled off a addition to this song well as this lyrical brilliance, its amazing, back after years too like the rest here. x
I showed this song to a classmate in Berkeley and he loved it. I wonder what’s he doing now.
I'm sooooo in love with this!!!!!! STELLA IS AMAZING!!!!
I have been looking for this remix for about a year! So glad I found it :-)
@surfacingtacit
You make fine point. And yes this is the most soulful bit of music I have ever heard. I plan on having that inscribed on my tomb stone, "The best part of life is knowing you put it together." I wasn't even aware that such an incredable piece could be, dare I say, improved.
This makes me cry, it’s filled with so much beauty!
I've been a NIN fan for AGES and I'm simply shocked that I have not heard this until today...right in this very moment ::stares in disbelief: O___O
I almost played this for my wedding march music...but I decided to keep it a secret in order to keep its identity for me...It wouldn't have been appropriate...pure vocal gymnastics and poignant poetry...

This is just amazingly beautiful.
`The best thing about life is knowing you put it together`

Fuckin hell if that's not the realist and deepest line of lyrics I've heard in awhile.
Every day, i come here, to listen this remix, it's like addiction
thanks 4 this song ... I love Stella's CD "Dirty Little Secrets" (@2001?) ...it's one of my all-time favorite!!!
This is relevant to my interests. Matter of fact, it's the first song on my playlist right now.
I absolutely love this song ❤️ thank you
Hauntingly beautiful ❤
@alphadeltaroflcopter I personally interpret "touching him" as being it touches his soul, it makes him feel something. The lyrics are deliberately ambiguous, but the whispered line "the best thing about life is knowing you put it together" to me makes the song seem like it's about looking back on your life and where you're at now. You could also interpret the lyrics as having a love element to them, both received and unrequited. It's so poetic you could grasp dozens of meanings from it.
Love this version also. But I cant make out one.word
Perfection.
@freestyleroller84
"...enhance....enhance....enhance...."
"Would you knock that the fuck off?!?"
Also, I've listened to this song at least four or five times a week for the past year, still not tired of it. It's a damned masterpiece of a remix, however simply done.
why are you the best. ..sniff love this song
Been listening since 2010. Atleast 20k of the views are just from me.
peace is this song
@ishpirate
In the original ninstrumental. In the first twenty seconds those lines are repeated, headphones help immensely, the first part is easy to hear, the second part is really distorted but it's there.
@alphadeltaroflcopter a quick Google search leads you to the Nine Inch Nails Wiki page for A Warm Place, scroll down a bit and it tells you that it means "touching him" in Latin.
We got ourselves a mexican stand off! Come on scagnetti! You got me locked you take you shot
damnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn
this is amazingg
amazing
This at 0.5x speed is unbelievable
best NIN song
@osmfnd The original release was on The Downward Spiral. This is the first time I have heard this one.
That gasp for air tho lol.
@ciarantreacy2 It was never officially released, but it is available for download @ remix.nin.com :D
but we still got the old one... we just have two now, nothing was taken away :)
Interesting. Didn't think I'd like it.
-Now someone make one with Taeyeon's vocals!-
@surfacingtacit Ohh I was just using google translate. Figured that was my best bet. Thanks! I'm going to guess that "touching him" is a reference to a "higher power". maybe? lol
This was for the "Ransom" soundtrack I think. Billy Corgan had her do the vocals supposedly, but then decided the song was too distracting and took it off the soundtrack.
Yeah but those whispered lines are in the original version as well, Trent could see it differently.
I feel that it this song is what it would be like to stare into the face of a Christ like martyr during his last moments as a few final tears made their way down his face, she in spirit wipes them away and takes on part of him alas "touching him" or then understanding what needs to be fulfilled.
That or I start missing my daughter and I just lose it altogether.
@mjmcub Only one of the best instrumentals to be put together.
You can't beat that
Good effort. Keep up the good fight
I just weeped
super agreed, i think a bit bjørkish japanese vrs too, in certain moments...
@SeymoarYaTutz Me to! I just usually listened to the original until I heard this version.
For a minute there I thought this was Anneke from The Gathering singing!
2023 here
wow
2018?
I imagine listening to this at the pearly gates until they get to me and send me to hell then in hell you hear eraser.
That's the beauty of Trent's music. He can make some of the most beautiful music I've ever heard...but also some of the most hateful and bitter music I've heard too....even though this song was originally sampled from Crystal Japan by David Bowie.
*PROFOUND COMMENT*
Nice vocals reminiscent of Elizabeth Fraser of Cocteau Twins or Karin from The Knife but they need to be more drowned out / subtle, perhaps into a choral "bed" of sorts.
Does anyone know if Trent has ever heard this and what his thoughts are on it?
willydeezle www.nin.wiki/A_Warm_Place
He called her and wanted her to go to New Orleans to re-cut it. He liked it.
God damn.
Holy shit
Good god
Please, I have not been able to translate Illum tangendo, what does it mean?
why? why with vocals? it was perfect as it was...to quote ron simmons: DAMN!!!
Top ten of all time love my self losing everything
MAY I PLEASE SAMPLE THIS
yes
You can download it officially from ninremix.com for free.
"download officially", that sounds awful. where did we end up with this shitty copyright
@mjmcub A Warm Place
Kinda dog it, original is O.G., David Bowie's Saigon is grand master.

you don't have to remix everything !
1:45 is where the song turns to shit. Other than that it's a beautiful song.
dont like it
The singing ruins it.
👎
This masterpiece never should contain voice...
Bravo
