In unserem zweiten PODCAST geht es in englischer Sprache weiter. Für diese Episode haben wir uns mit good old SEEN aus New York unterhalten, den wir hier wohl nicht weiter vorstellen müssen. Wir sprechen ca 45 Minuten über fünf Jahre in der Wahlheimat Paris, Galerien, Style Wars, Subway Graffiti in New York, Mural Art und die Frage warum er eigentlich “Godfather of Graffiti” genannt wird.

I’ll tell ya where you your prefix came from, my mouth. It was in front of our tattoo studio in da boogie down. I remember so clearly who was there and everything. You were back out there heavily once again and this time , the next wave of Writers were lurking around the shop on the daily deciding amongst themselves who is going out with you every weekend. VIC 161, BOOTS 119, SAR, SACH , and I’m leaning on the meter ,smoking a cigarette and here is CAVS , trying to figure out how to get a grip on the arguing amongst themselves, like the neighborhood corner bookie, he starts talking over everyone and says , no way, you guys hit the Amtraks with him last time, I go with SEEN this Weekend, Vic and Boots can go hit the open wall at the 233rd st. Bridge. Me and Vic immediately looked at each other and this is where I blurt out, Paulie, who made you the Godfather of Graffiti. All of you know, Richie painting with whoever’s here when he decides to go paint. That jokingly title I punchlined him with that late afternoon, bounced right off him and I could’ve swore you grabbed it like it was an actual thing . They say nicknames are given by your closest friends growing up, but a TITLE automatically goes to where it belongs. And that’s how “The GODFATHER of GRAFFITI”came about. In my eyes, that title is not needed, In the culture ,,SEEN carries more weight. Hope to catch up one of these days when ya pop back in the neighborhood.

That's true I use to walk for miles far far away in the 6th grade before the internet to buy Graf mags that showed all the Graf around the world but in NY Trains just were rocked, wall productions were whole buildings .now it's common and the internet made everything easier .but back in the day it was difficult to come by .

This documentary is awsome you early guys are like Micheal Angelos in 100 or 200 years from now your graffiti will be worth Millions if you can find original signed pieces from the early pioneers….best investment you can make I’d buy one if I could hold of one it’s like owning a original Deffender Machine by Williams Electronics…

@YARD47 Was eigentlich leider bezeichnend ist, man es aber den Youngsterz nicht übel nehmen kann. Totale Reizüberflutung, heute 1Up morgen the next big step. A touch too much media mass. Hätte uns damals auch so überrollt. Dennoch, ich geb als 96er starter so much love and Respect für die Roots. Never forget where this art comes from. Und viele Antistyler zollen ja allein schon mit ihrem o-Cap Style der alten Garde aus den 70gern Respekt.
