Especially when she put it on the sides of her head and neck, I can’t even stand having a pimple on the sides of my head because even that gives me a headache😭
You'd be fine veins repair themselves, piercings sometimes go through them & within like 18 hours they're almost fully repaired. It's arteries you've got to be worried about but with this that's highly unlikely lmao
I’m an acupuncturist. If you bleed, it usually means you have weak blood vessels. It is actually a good test of your vein health. I tell people who bleed to take Diosmin to strengthen blood vessels. It works in a few days.
I'm a little nervous around needles and I tried acupuncture to help with my mental health and some period pain. I don't think I've ever had such an immediate and positive response to a medical procedure before! I am so glad that I tried it out! If you're on the edge of trying it, go for it! It was INCREDIBLE for pain relief and the effects are so long-lasting! (also you don't really see/feel the needles cause it's out of your sight-line so I didn't find it scary once we started!) :)
You are very brave, this woman didn’t do any hygiene cleaning or use alcohol rub your skin before needling, and she touched your skin right away after taking out needles, which are totally unprofessional and dangerous of spreading blood pathogenic diseases. She will never pass the Acupuncture exam and get her license in my province by doing what she did in this video. And to clarify about cupping, silicon cup does not work. so you don’t need to expect too much from it. Only fire cupping does efforts on improving circulation. Silicon cups did suck your skin surface only and have no efforts on anything. What made your skin different is Acupuncture and GuaSha. And if you do GuaSha at home everyday, you can see the big improvement too.
My grand father was an acupuncturist and I've learned to just roll with it haha It really helped me with my eyesight, eczema flare ups, and stomach issues so I'm sold lol
Most of our clients are far more triggered by the look of needles than the actual feel when receiving them. But for those who are needle phobic there are other genius tools we use like Facial Gua Sha, Cupping and Hot herbal poultice - all of which are very relaxing while also being effective.
arshia jain it's super relaxing, effective for many conditions and not at all painful - the most you'll feel is a brief pinprick. Quality of sleep after acupuncture is amazing too!
For people who don’t know, acupuncture is also great for all sorts of muscle related treatments. Korea, where “Chinese medicine” is one of the official medical branch along “Western medicine”, a lot of people, athletes visit for intense treatment on injuries and clinical care.
I do think that acupuncture is relaxing. I've done before and I've honestly never felt better. Sometimes I did feel uncomfortable but once the tension was released I felt so relaxed. I got super sleepy during and after.
This looks great, what I don't get is why it has to be so pricey. It make it only acssesable for the wealthy. I've been working as a Holistic Technician for 30yrs, yet my prices are set so ALL can afford it.
We would agree with you Ethericrose, we do try to make this as affordable as possible given our New York City rent and believe in paying our practitioners and staff a good living wage. There are many factors and considerations that go into how we charge. The most important thing is that all varieties of costs are available out there, there are those who are less costly than us and those that are far more expensive. We are somewhere in the middle.
I’m an acupuncturist. Office rent is expensive. Needles, sheets, internet, phone, printer, insurance, acupuncture license. You name it. You are paying for all expenses, not just our time.
I've always been super afraid to try acupuncture so tysm for doing this! I think I'm gonna drag my bf to an acupuncture sesh for my birthday!! Can't wait for next week's episode!!
i'm extremely terrified of needles and got an acupuncture once on my back and it was so scary even though i couldn't see a thing....i can't imagine putting needles on my face lol
I really doubt that, considering that it proves to show results in blood flow. Also, since there is medicine involved with the needles I doubt that it would encourage breakouts
I remember my mum took me to an acupuncturist to help me with my depression, irregular periods, acne, anxiety and even insomnia. I was very nervous since a guy was doing it to me and I did have to strip down a little but he made sure I was comfortable and well covered with towels. Overall the experience was very relaxing and not as horrifying as people make it out to be. It’s just a shame that I couldn’t continue my healing process due to Covid but oh well, such is life now.
@Kiyraa Miller yeah he asked me about my period and whether I was pregnant or sexual active all while my mum was present in the room so it was a bit (^-^). But it was all chill afterwards
For everyone saying, “this will hurt” or “this hurt me” it doesn’t hurt, I did these when I was 8 till I was 10 (a family friend was going to school to do this and practiced on me) I don’t even have a super high pain tolerance but to each their own so...
Omg your makeup and your face looks so glowly and fresh! The maintenance care that you been doing at home definitely looks like it’s been working I want to get into that as well
Loved this video (and love Mi-Anne) ! I’m terrified of needles, but I believe in facing your fears, especially when the outcome can be so good! I’m now definitely interested in doing this type of facial :)
Needles don't scare me. It's the extreme redness that would bother me. My skin is *extremely* sensitive. I've broken out in a matter on minutes just because I stepped outside in the extreme heat or extreme cold and it takes days to get my face clear and white again.
I already did this. Its relaxing but really expensive. One time they put a needle on my forehead then it started to bleed, but not much. It doesn't hurt so I reccomend do this.
I just had it today for my migraine for the first time. I hope they don't say it is not painful because it is painful. Each needles insertion is almost the same pain when your in the dentist injection for a tooth extraction. Until now my face were still swollen. Not all will have the same results.
hi i really want to know does it work for acne or pimple skin ? How you feel after acupuncture treatment ? How many times do you have to do as one treatment ? Thank you xxx
Acupuncture vs. Dry Needling Acupuncture and dry needling are often confused with each other. Both procedures involve the insertion of needles into the skin. However, there are some important differences between these two procedures. Acupuncture is a form of Traditional Chinese Medicine that has been used for over 3000 years. It is based on the belief that there is a life force energy, known as qi, that flows through the body. The goal of acupuncture is to restore balance to the body by correcting any imbalances in the flow of qi. Dry needling is a relatively new procedure that has only been used for the past few decades. It is based on the Western medical model of anatomy and physiology. The goal of dry needling is to release muscle tension and trigger points. There are some similarities between acupuncture and dry needling. However, there are also some important differences. Acupuncture is a holistic approach to medicine that looks at the whole person, not just the symptoms of the disease. Dry needling is a more targeted approach that focuses on specific muscle groups. Dry needling is horrible. They try to break down trigger points. Thinking it is scar tissue. The push the needle in and out over and over, causing damage. See a licensed acupuncturist for good results.
The needles look like they would be uncomfortable after a certain amount of them are placed, I would probably haft to be asleep to do this without panicking and trying to get the needles out myself..
It's probably because of how thin and sparse the needles are. As soon as you take them out they are probably starting to close already. It's not like a tattoo or a wound. The needles seem to be just slightly bigger than a pore.
What sort of beauty treatments should Mi-Anne try next? Let us know in the comments!
Refinery29 Organic makeup!!
Refinery29 random color challenge
The crystal face roller (idk what their actually called but it's a crystal that you rub on your face)
Refinery29 Derma rolling !
COLD-HEAT CONTRAST BATHS !!!!
The thought of her accidentally poking the needle into a vein will go thorough my mind and I would not be able to relax
Especially when she put it on the sides of her head and neck, I can’t even stand having a pimple on the sides of my head because even that gives me a headache😭
What about I.V’s? Those go into your vein?
You'd be fine veins repair themselves, piercings sometimes go through them & within like 18 hours they're almost fully repaired. It's arteries you've got to be worried about but with this that's highly unlikely lmao
Just think positive...this treatment has gotta be better than Botox needles.

Idk about others, but I have always found this process horrifying. Maybe its just me?
