- Today is a new year and I got my first set of the new year, the Festival Calendar. This is part of the 2024 Lego Chinese New Year line of sets. It’s an affordable set at $29.94.

Great idea to use the calendar to create a sub counter for your channel. That'll be fun to see. Thanks for the review. You know, I did need another set to add to my wish list😅
Thanks for showing this set. I couldn’t find other videos about it.
I thought it might go under the radar. But it’s a great little set.
Very impressive build and video Jason. Thanks
I was looking at the new sets on Lego Shop at Home and this set caught my eye. I'm glad I got to see your review.
Cool, the lunar new year sets are always quite good
The dragon is very well constructed. Or should I say it’s great
Love the idea of using this as a sub counter! Lets go! ❤
That piece with the wave is a Unikitty tail. That was also used for architectural details in the roof of the Friends Emma's Art School set (41711) from a couple years ago.
Unikitty and friends, That would explain why I’m not familiar with it.
Thank you for your review Jason. This was a set that I was unaware of, but it looks good. I am going to consider it now, especially as it can be used for something else easily and then rebuilt ready for 2025! Happy New Year Jason & Tanya🎉
It’s a great set to keep in mind when you are like $20-$30 from getting a gwp as it can put you over that threshold. That’s my pro tip for you lol
Happy new year to you as well.
I like the idea of using it as a sub counter.
I want it! I'm buying now!
I just picked this up at Station Park. I was born in the year of the dragon, so it was a must. Did you notice the date they used on the box? That's when the new year begins. Very clever.
I did not realize that but you are correct. A very cool hidden detail.
A good set to get. The boat has some use for a Ninjago city layout 😊
I could definitely see that. Knowing how creative you are, you have probably uploaded moc instructions on rebrickable as to how you can take 3 of these sets and 100 extra parts and make a modular for a city lol
@@jasonsbricksin5 lol I wish I could do that with all sets but some sets are easier/harder to modify than others. 😄
I am building the natural history museum any day I can. I also ordered the Spiderman art and pre-paid the Avengers tower out of my 2024 Lego budget already, so the art set and vintage vehicle promo are on the way, and a 6 pack of series 25 cmfs as well which I only went for 1 6 pack due to the switch to boxes. My only other set I want to grab in 2024 is the loop coaster, which will be over the summer over a double points to get $100 in rewards on top of the $285 I already have in vip points. Also, I need to finish my 2018 passenger train still so that's an eBay haul, probably in March or April since thankfully, Lego did the vehicle promo right away.
Whoa, you might want to slow down. That’s a lot of stuff and it’s only January 1st lol
Sounds like a year of fun ahead for you my friend.
@jasonsbricksin5 I am. I haven't bought Avengers Tower yet, and I only have $605 left for the year, so I definitely plan to. Just wanted to get the promo for sure for the city, and the Avengers Tower paid off ahead so I can order that whenever I want to. Plus, I have a city rebuild project I need to do, so that will take time in January and February.
my first build also. the stickers are a hassle on the wheels but otherwise excellent
.... followed by "Spider-Man vs. Sandman: Final Battle" and the amazing CITY Burger Truck
Yes the stickers were not a lot of fun, but they usually aren’t. Glad you enjoyed it too. I also got the Spider-Man set. Nice
i do love the Chinese sets. I picked up the other two new Chinese sets and did pick this up but put it back as I really wouldn’t use it as it is. I’ll wait and see what MOCS come then I might pick it up.
Your idea of using the counter as a sub counter is good but would it be seen on top of the building? Numbers are rather small
Yeah I thing the Chinese new year sets are usually really great.
I have had the same concerns about visibility. I guess we will see how the moc turns out.
That dial system could be used in so many different ways. I'm seeing it as a scoreboard.
Yep, really any to track any four digit number
I debated so hard… whether to get this or not. Still thinking about it.
Well, I would tell you to keep it in mind. It is a great set. It’s a good one to have in your back pocket when you’re like $20- $25 away from that gift with purchase threshold.
I cannot believe this set is already on backorder!
That is very interesting to me that this is the only Chinese new year set on back order
@@jasonsbricksin5 I think genuinely it makes for a good desk ornament. I want to get one for my friend, Mary. Since she's always checking her phone for the date while at work.
