    I'm very new to all of this. Had the market moved the opposite direction once you placed the lay order as it was reaching the back order, would you have taken the small loss or waited in case the price went up again pre the off?

    • @michaelbainbridge9230
      @michaelbainbridge9230 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm new to this too but if I have understood correctly you would not lose anything because that far out the money will not be matched so you can always cancel it. However, as the price gets close to this order you place an order on the other side of the ladder.

    It could have easily not gone as high as 3.5 then starting dropping down and ended up in loss. How did you know it was going to continue up and match you at 3.5? And in fact as soon as it did it started back down again... how did you know?

    • @Daniel.Romaniuc
      @Daniel.Romaniuc 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Trading is about probabilities. What Peter shows you is a tactic that increases your chances of both orders being matched when you do scalping.

    • @betangeltv
      @betangeltv  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @Daneil Thank you for stepping in on that. I always get a bit frustrated when people point out what could go wrong, that's not the point! So it's nice to see people understand exactly what I'm trying to do.

  • @johnristheanswer
    @johnristheanswer 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Problem I see is we're advised to not " chase " the price . Using this idea that's exactly what you're doing. Entering a stake 5 ticks away from the current price means you've got to enter as the price rises up to your order ( chasing ) . It could easily just touch it then reverse again. Because you've now got the other order matched , it's a loser. Advice appreciated if I'm wrong.

    • @betangeltv
      @betangeltv  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You are just looking for positions where there isn't much money. This means you can get matched quickly on both sides. That's the essense of this trade and how it reduces your risk.

  • @lewiscray9052
    @lewiscray9052 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Great video thanks. Why do you set the traded volume to a percentage with this technique?

    • @betangeltv
      @betangeltv  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I prefer that as it gives a better visual aid than just the amounts matched.

  • @gazzie12000
    @gazzie12000 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Hi Peter, I enjoy your videos but as a beginner it's assumed we all know what you are doing to get in and out, and place trades - but it moves so fast I can't fathom what you doing! It would really help novice traders if you explain what exactly is going on.
    For example you put a Back order in @ 3.5, and a Lay @ 2.98 which I understand. But once the 3.5 was matched, and as the odds immediately started to fall towards 2.98 (was that just luck?) you the said that once the lay was matched @ 2.98 you would hover the mouse and place an immediate Back order @ 3.0. I totally do not understand why? Surely with a Back @ 3.5 and a Lay @ 2.98 you have then made the profit and hedge out? What does the additional back @ 3.0 do? To me you now have an extra Back bet that needs matching with a lower Lay bet?
    So the video ended up rather confusing me, but if Peter or someone else who is experienced can explain to a beginner what exactly happened here I'd appreciate it!

    • @betangeltv
      @betangeltv  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      All I'm doing here is putting my closing trade in before my opening trade. Then as the price approaches that closing position I put my opening position in. That way I get matched quickly and don't need to guess direction very much.

    • @tomtyler16
      @tomtyler16 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Peter just a random suggestion to maybe consider upgrading video quality to at least 1080p (HD) instead of 720p to make things less blurry. I think something like ladder recordings should be at 1080p minimum like your older videos were, or 1440p optimum, while 4k is overkill.
