- Last week, I posted a video where I surprised my friends with a hanami (cherry blossom picnic) in America. But, making the cherry blossom tree for this event was a bit of a process. I thought that I'd share it with you in case you wanted to create your own cherry blossom tree or a different kind of fake flowered tree in general.

Many people have been inquiring about where I purchased my cherry blossoms for the tree. I used alibaba.com to purchase in bulk, however, only ended up using about half of the 100 pieces I ordered. For those of you looking to create smaller trees or indoor tree options, you will probably not need to buy in bulk. I have linked other cherry blossom options that are sold by Amazon in the description as well as the wire I used to adhere the cherry blossoms to the tree!

The exact flowers that I used aren't on the market anymore, but there are very similar ones that are still being sold on Alibaba! If you are buying in bulk, you can ask for samples before making a large purchase, but you honestly don't need 100 units to make a tree similar to mine, I still had 50ish units left after I finished my tree so you can do fine with 50 or less

I love it!!! I want to make a tree center piece!!! We has cherry blossoms here where I live.... Bees hang out in them and it's scary to be underneath them because you hear all the buzzing and see all the bees. So your tree is bee safe lol and in full blossom all year round!!! I love it!!! I got some branches for my center piece already..... Thank u for your ideas
No problem! Bees can still be attracted at first because of the color, but they will usually leave it alone after they figure out it's fake! And with a nice centerpiece you can move it indoors during the winter to prevent wear and then leave it out in the summers!

Like you, I've had a hard time finding how to do this very thing. I finally found you! How do you think the flowers will weather in time?
Excellent video. I think we're a rare breed making our own outdoor trees.
The flowers surprisingly hold up really well outside. The biggest issue is if you live in a very dusty area with more wind or have a lot of other trees around that drop sap, pollen, etc, the silk flowers are gonna show that dirt or discoloration. Will still look good from a distance but if you get close up youll be able to see the dirt and it's very difficult to clean. Otherwise I haven't run into any other issues

First off I wanted to say how beautiful this turned out to be! It’s inspired me to a piece for my wife on her birthday. I was wondering though, how long does the real tree branch stay in the shape that it is? Do they typically decay after a while? Cheers mate!
As long as you're not dealing with wood rot, it should last a long time. Make sure that you're not using freshly cut trees or wood, you need to dry them out for a few weeks in order to prevent rot. Using a resin to waterproof the wood also definitely helps! My tree is still going strong outside and I think it's past the 2 year mark!

Hi, this looks great! Can you tell me how long these blossoms last? will it stay nice for several months?
If you keep them inside, they will last forever as long as you dust them from time to time. If this is for outside use, depending on weather they will not last as long, but because they are silk flowers instead of paper, they won't disintegrate from rain or other wetness. They can get dirty outside though and it's really hard to clean them, so indoor use is the best!

I had a lot left over but probably used about 60% of them. Didn't know how much i would need since it was my first time, but i would say better to have extra than have your tree looking sad 😅

I bought mine from alibaba.com; they have a bunch of listings for cherry blossom flowers! Once you start searching for what you want on the site, you'll have wholesellers contacting you directly with offers as well, so you might get better deals talking directly with wholesellers! You usually need to buy in bulk tho
There are affordable cherry blossom branches on Amazon
Amazon's an option too, it just depends on how many you need! If you're looking to buy 100+ units then it might be better to buy wholesale
@@MATOKA That makes sense, but I only want to buy about 100 pieces and a 10 piece only cost $14.99 on Amazon with free shipping on orders over $25 and I get them within 7 days. Total comes to about $150 a little over.

I ordered 100 pieces and used a little over half, so I would say you don't need as many as I ordered, but I wanted to make sure the tree would look full of flowers, so it's always good to over-order a bit if you can, just in case you make mistakes or need more!

I got the flowers on alibaba! ~$300USD for 100 stems. they have a lot of options on their site if you look up cherry blossoms!
You can also purchase through amazon or other craft sites, however they may cost a bit more and you won't be able to buy in bulk. For a full tree like mine, I didn't use all of the flowers that I purchased, so you don't need as many to make your tree!

The flowers are fabric but the stems are plastic covered wire! The base is a branch from a real tree, so it is all wood.
As flores são de tecido, mas as hastes são de arame revestido de plástico! A base é um galho de uma árvore real, então é toda de madeira.

they actually contacted me directly through the alibaba messaging app so that we could make the deal, but I bought my flowers from this company and they have a few different options for cherry blossom flowers. To get the best deal possible, I would have them msg you as well and they can send you more sample photos of the flowers liek they did for me

Id try hanging them in a shower hot and steaming .. and just wear a latex glove and finger paint those stems quick after I’ve assembled it
