These are too cute for words! I'm wondering if using chopsticks or pencils in place of the dowel rods would work. If they're not wide enough, maybe wrap the pieces with cardstock before wrapping the paper around them. Thanks so much for creating the book spines for us, too! So cute, I just pinned this tutorial for other to see via Pinterest.

This is so fantastic. I am a librarian so anything having to do with books I totally adore! Thank you for the very helpful printout, you really intrigued me with this project, I wish I could make one right now. On my to do list since I don't have a printer or any of these materials. Nik I bought the same bezels on clearance lol. I wasn't sure what I would do with them but I can never pass up a good clearance deal. LOL Now I have a project for at least a couple of them. I really did have fun watching this cute idea. Plus I have plans on checking out the sea glass at the local stores. Today I took a beautiful book apart so that I could use the pages in a legacy journal. I was so nervous but as I went through the steps, I just tried to remember how you have done it. If you have to make paper "dowels," couldn’t you use a small paper clip at both ends to hold it instead of having to hold it for 15 minutes?

OMG! I hated Modge Podge coz I live in Malaysia and it is hella humid here. So glad to hear it's not tacky just because!! That tip with the clear enamel is going to be a lifesaver! 😲 Also...
