This is how I would have liked to see the season go as opposed to how it actually went down. My personal opinion based on my favorites and preferences, and who I thought deserved to win.
My personal re-write: (based on skill level/overall thoughts in my opinion 16. Jason and Peta: very forgettable couple 15. Teresa and Pasha: not a good dancer 14. Cheryl and Louis: had some good moments but overall not impressed 13. Sam and Cheryl: loved the energy he brought, but had a lot of technical errors 12. Jessie and Alan: she had one good dance, but she was OK 11. Vinny and Koko: loved his personality, but not a very good dancer 10. Selma and Sasha: they could have been really good 9. Heidi and Artem: I liked her, but she didn't stick out to me 8. Joseph and Daniella: he could have had so much potential, he was eliminated far too soon 7. Jordin and Brandon: she was really good, so sad when she got eliminated bc she was really improving 6. Trevor and Emma: he wins most improved BY FAR this season 5. Daniel and Britt: I love him, you could tell how much more confident he got with Britt throughout the season 4. Shangela and Gleb: I love her energy and attention to detail 3. Gabby and Val: she was really good, but some of her routines i thought were overscored 2. Wayne and Witney: love him, but i don't understand why the judges got so hard on him all of a sudden 1. Charli and Mark: literally had some of the best dances i've seen on the show.

I changed mine because 3 reasons: 1. Gabby and Val's performance has been great, and they were my 2nd favorite couple! But after her freestyle, I was disappointed in it, because I felt like Val didn't put enough thought and soul in that dance. It was good though, but after that dance, 4th was good for her in my opinion. 2. Shangela is my 4th favorite contestant. 4th place was far too low. Considering -Gleb's- Natasha's iconic drag transformation, how could I not put her in 3rd?? Charli deserved that win. 3. I put Wayne in 2nd, because he was the most dedicated performer, and he was seriously balancing out his busy schedule and dance practice. And it still peeves me that he was constantly underscored by the judges, I mean come on, what else do you want from this dude??? Once again, Charli deserved that win, so 2nd place is all I can put him in.
No way that anyone could beat Charli. I think I am not sure I agree with the other rankings but it’s a fair representation. I liked Whitney and Wayne for 3rd place. Shangela for 2nd. Gabby for 4th. The rest I’m onboard with. In my humble opinion, Wayne worked very hard and deserved a higher ranking as did Shangela (I’m very sorry if I’m misspelling this it’s not on purpose). Gabby is a good dancer but the other two were better.

I was just a die hard fan of Gabby, and love her so much, and I am a Bachelorette fan. And Trevor, I mean if you look at my name, kinda obvious, plus he danced to so many of my favorite songs, I was just so captivated by him week after week. Charli was kinda predictable, but I'm glad she went back to loving dance. Daniel was underrated, and also he had great rhythm for being deaf (His Tango was amazing). Shangela was a fire queen, but I liked others a little more than her. Wayne was to me overrated, and he lacked the pazzaz that gets me. Jordin was a queen, and I loved her. Heidi was boring at times, but she wasn't bad. Joseph was so much better than I though he'd be, and I loved him a lot. Vinny was fun to watch even if he wasn't great at dancing. Jessie was just plain boring and mediocre. Selma was elegant and fun to watch, but she was placed this low due to withdraw, but other than that, she would have been placed higher up the list. Sam was cute, may not have been good at dancing, but he sure gave a show even if he was super stiff. Teresa did better than I thought, and I wish Pasha could have a partner with a great fan base and great skill. Cheryl was okay, but not a big wow for me. Jason is just bad at dancing, even though I thought Vinny should have gone first at the beginning, I now am glad Jason was first, cause he'd probably be boring to watch.

Daniel Durant- he so underrated and I wish I can move him up. I would rather have in the finals than Wayne. 6. Jordin Sparks- she was my favorite going into this season. She was underrated and underscored. There were few times she should have gotten 10s. 7. Wayne Brady-he was a favorite going into the season and he started off good but he something about him became too overrated for me half way though the season. I still love him as an actor. 8. Trevor Donovan- I just love that he started be scared of dancing but end up loving it. 9. Heidi D'Amelio- her dances was boring and her daughter is a much better dancer. 10. Vinny Guadagnino- my family favorite because they are a huge fans of Jeresy Shore, I am not. I thought I was going to hate him but he was so much fun. He wasn’t a good dancer though. 11. Jessie James Decker- forgettable and she shouldn’t have won prom Queen 12. Joseph Baena- just wasn’t good 13. Cheryl Ladd- I actually like her in the premiere episode and wanted her to stay another week before she had to leave. 14. Sam Champion- he was fun but a horrible dancer 15. Teresa Giudice- she was awful 16. Jason Lewis- he was awful
If you disqualify Charli and Wayne because they were already professional dancers, then it would leave Gleb/Shangela in 1st, Gabby/Val in 2nd, Heidi/Artem in 3rd place. Then I would totally agree with the results.
I mean, all five of those contestants have danced in their lives. You can’t just pick and choose what person with fan dance experience gets disqualified.

i agree completely! no clue why wayne was critiqued so hard especially in the semis!
I think they went hard on Wayne because that dance on Michael Buble night he messed up badly and the judges started to go harder on him
