Last night, I secretly met with The Pir, The Light of the Path,
and begged him never to keep life's mysteries hidden from me.
He whispered ever so softly in my ear,
"It must be experienced, it cannot be told, so hush!"

با پیرِ خِرَد نَهُفتِه می گُفتم دوشْ کَزْ مَنْ سُخَنِ سِرِّ جَهان هیچْ مَپوشْ
نَرمَک نَرمَک مَرا هَمی گُفت بِه گوشْ کینْ دیدَنی است، گُفتَنی نیست، خَموش
Why do you find silence dull and boring?
Get used to silence, because it is one of the essentials.
What is real silence? That which you call ‘silence’
Is a hundred joyful shouts and cries, messages and messengers.

دَر خاموشی چِرا شَوی کُنْد و مَلول؟ خو کُن به خَموشی، که اُصول است، اُصول
خود کو خَمُشی؟ آن کِه خَمُش می خوانی صَد بانگْ و غَریو است و پَیام است و رَسول
The Beloved is like a King who knows everything you keep hidden;
He is aware of your deepest cries even before you open your mouth.
Everyone gets the intention of a flattering talker,
but I am a devoted admirer of the one who understands silence.
