    good question. it actually doesn't matter which variable is on the top and which is on the bottom, just as long as it's the same in both cases. for example, 4/2 = 2/1, and i can flip both and say 2/4 = 1/2. so you can write it as V1/n1 = V2/n2, or n1/V1 = n2/V2, whichever you like better.

      In calculating a sample problem I got two different answers when the variables were flipped. Everywhere I look V is on top, n on the bottom. Can you help in explaining why it doesn’t matter? Thank you very much.

    Sir, thank you for your hard work. I'm new to the channel and never really looked up teaching videos on you-tube. You are my first and have helped me better understand chemistry. I have been struggling a'lot in lecture, i find this video where i can go back and look over your work and hear your words again a great advantage to completely learning this subject. again thank you and keep up the work.

    Hi Tyler,
    You didn't need to convert mass to mole then back. Equation works as mass and number of moles are proportional (linear relationship) to each other.

      Don't underestimate what Mr Khan does because of what he doesn't teach, estimate him withe the teaching potential he has.

      Agree, but I must say I haven't seen anything beat the math courses on Khan Academy. They're incredibly intuitive.

    I love this guy so much, he explained everything so easy. If the answer should be in grams and is not necessarily show working, you don’t have to convert to grams. It would give you same answer.

      I can't actually read a school text book due to a little problem i have... e_e
      But this guy's video is saving me from so much suffering. I really don't know what I'd do in my last few years of school without this kind of help. Amazing explanation, relatively straight forward and portrays it in a simple way to make it look easy and not intimidate students.
