      If I get this right with Vulcan and Best Partner you get a free Marksman, which can also spawn Fangs if you get Shooting Squad on the Marksman as well so for 1 Vulcan you get a free Marksman and then 5 free Fangs, which I feel can snowball things pretty darn quickly. However you don't want tt place that Vulcan on the frontline because that'll prevent those free units to not... spawn.
      That could work well with Fortress spawning Fangs too ^^

    Gonna argue for AA missiles over Launcher Overload for the fortress. There's plenty of units who can put out high damage. But the the AA ability is the only one I can think of that lets you target air units independently of whatever its main agro is locked on. It's so good for countering a late-game wasp/phoenix switch when you can't trust your mustangs to get the job done. It won't counter overlords well on its own, but it can help out snipers/phoenix and clear summoned wasps.

      I agree, it can deff take out overlords if they are busy taking out small units. The one thing i don't get is that launcher overload says that it DECREASES attack & range... so why would anyone pick that?

    • @danrou7668
      @danrou7668 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It decreases attack interval, so it shoots faster but with less damage

  • @LordSaric
    @LordSaric 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +9

    I think you're sleeping on ignite for Wasps, not so much for the Wasp itself, they tend to die to fast for that dot to pay off, but if you're setting an *Overlord* to spawn them then you're getting that dot out at least every 28 seconds. Against other Overlords, Melting Points, or Fortress spam that damage can really add up.

    Armor-Piercing also negates Armor Enhancement allowing the unit to pierce through armor.

      for real ? If thats true that NEEDs to be in the tooltip

    • @opposed2logic
      @opposed2logic 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@IIIJG52it isnt true. armor piercing adds damage, as it says, it has no interaction with armor enhancement which reduces damage taken by a set number + increase max hp. for example mustang with armor piercing will still struggle vs armor enhancement on something, lets say arclights.

    You don't go for acidic on crawlers because they will be duying on your frontline leaving acid for your units to walk on unless you place them specifically to avoid that

  • @opposed2logic
    @opposed2logic 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    armor enhancement is nice on arclights as it makes them immune to stuff like fangs and mustangs

    Completely agree with the Energy Diffraction on Melting point. Loved it at first but i've grown out of it as with many things :D interesting how a lot of strategies have changed drastically throughout the time i've played xD used to hate stormcallers thought they were useless but now i can't live without it D:

    For Fang spam having Vulcan with Best Partner together with Marksman with Shooting Squad seems like a gift that keeps on giving.

    Feels like the range enhancement is OP. It's the best tech on pretty much every unit, right?

  • @DragonuFear

    I disagree hard on pheonixes. Charge shot or launcher overload add insane damage to help them chunk giants down. Id never stack them as that would make the range a bog problem, but one or the other can really help them turn into your premiere single target damage dealers as long as you play smart with the rest of your army to keep the marksmen occupied.

    • @justMeJustBri
      @justMeJustBri 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I used to have one at all times but after playing more with Phoenix I've switched to Range + Elite Marks without charged/overload.
      The damage+range just shreds giants

    Wow, this video is so old you don't even have War Factory in here! You should consider a new version of this video. How have tech picks changed in the last 7 months? Thoughts on picks for new units (Factory, Wraith, Scorp)?
    For instance Mustang missile defense must have been nerfed, or just countered by the meta?

    Damage sharing is hilarious it actually just nerfs your units into the ground. Instead of countering damage sharing with EMP just start buying Melting points and watch the entire unit explode instead of 1 model at time.

    Hey Cobrak, how would you go about countering Fang + Hacker spam? I've encountered it a few times now and I've lost every time. Tried overlords, but then the opponent adds snipers or phoenixes. I've not found a way of dealing with it yet, so was wondering if you had any good strategies for it.

      Depending on positioning, I find Stormcallers to be very effective. Put fodder up front with some layers.

      As Andrew suggested, my go-to would be Stormcallers, 100%, and grabbing Mustangs of your own soon after so you have an anti-air answer to protect those Storms! Hard to say more than that outside of seeing the full game :) GLHF though man!

  • @opposed2logic

    imo you almost only play hacker into steel ball and when enemy have so strong steelballs you need to go hacker you benefit a lot from full healing them because they keep their tech etc. multiple control is useless and is what you should be skipping. hacker is super situational either way but the situation where multiple control is worth is almost none. one of the sleeper mods on hacker that makes the unit a bit interesting in my book is that its the cheapest shield option out there.

    I have a really weird build for my storms I have launcher overload to counter missile intercept, High explosive to kill swarms of tier 2 units like sledges also one volley is guaranteed to kill a fang unit or any small single unit thing like a arclight, i have emp cause of the aoe slow and tech removal, and I have armor piercing ammo to basically invalidate any shield and any giant, I have no range because generally your storms will never move in a match and I don’t have fire because I always have crawlers and the fire will hurt me as well

  • @jaegergames7042

    L.O. on the Fort is sorta mid. The small Range stack with the Range Tech is nice, but the extra Range allows that Damage increase to be negated by firing earlier, and taking either AA Barrage or Rocket Fists is a better way to clear up any hard Chaff- Air or Ground.
    The Fists absolutely are a bit of a meme, but with every level the Fort gets, thats an exta 15k Dmg per Fist.
    As for AAB, the spread on the Missiles allows them to wipe Wasps quite well, and 'Nixes as well. It may be garbage against Ovy's especially with Levels or Tech, but it does negate Wasp Spawns. And, it is one of 3 units in the ENTIRE game that can fire on Air and Ground AT the same time.
    (Fort AAB, Ovy Ground Cannon and Split Beams on the Melty.)

      No, it cannot.
      It can attack Air, and it can attack Ground, but it can't engage both targets at the same time. That's what I meant with my above statement- sorry if that wasn't super clear, man.

    What's 25% damage against wasp or phoenix really?

      It's the range that is important

    • @TekGriffon
      @TekGriffon 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah, it's the range you want. Oftentimes you already have chaff clear taken care of, but it's a sudden air switch that's giving you problems. The extra range vs air makes it easier for the stangs to focus on the threat and not get distracted.

    • @lightknightgames
      @lightknightgames 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@scooldrood Not really, the range is only an argument if you're buying both, but then there are 2 scenarios.
      The air units are behind their frontline and shields, in which case raw damage will kill air first. Or you are getting flanked with air units, in which case, you are permanently in range.
      The only fringe beneficial scenario is vs like, chaff crawlers phoenix stormcaller, you'll have range on the air first, but then, mustangs into callers. Then we're getting into just get fangs which I don't want to go over.
      The end point when you think about all these scenarios is, when am I getting a second slot range upgrade vs a first slot damage upgrade. And I get 1st slot damage way more than second slot range.

    Double missles tech on Vulcan is actually insane.
    Pair it with phoenix/overlord, and even acid crawlers to make the ground absolute hell for your opponent.
