The evolving role of the today's Architect makes one think deeply of the flexiblity of the education that is required to operate as a responsible citizen of the world. The specialization of technical skills that are asked of the new graduate is mind blowing, however we all must have a basic foundational understanding of the contribution we can to make in this new 'social' space. Are we helping to bring people together...or isolating them? Are we promoting innovative learning enviroments...or creating a new class of separation? Layer all that, with the responsibility for 40% of greenhouse gas emissons...the architect is now challenged to find alternative materials and approaches to the construction method itself. There has never been a more critical time for 'the Architect' to clearly communicate their role in the necessary solution finding process. We must do things differently...to get the results we want. Thanks for bringing into focus some of the challenges of the education of an Architect.
Very nice episode! On the subject of videogames and architecture combining or overlapping... it is so true, I myself have been trying to find ways to mix architecture and office work with videogames, streaming and vtubing. Architecture really is very versatile and allows you to dwelve into various forms of media. Can't wait to see how architecture keeps evolving with today's and future tools. Keep up the good work!
