    A wonderful invention. Do you use it from kayak? Does it work well in low speed?

      PACO RAMOS KURRICAN hi. Thanks. No only from a power or sail boat. Never tried from kayak. I assume it would work though.

    I have seen a few of these DIY troll Pros and I love the idea, and can't wait to try it. I do have a question...my tiny brain tells me that by making the housing a little longer it will travel in the water a little more stable (less side to side movement). But I feel like i am wrong since all the ones I have seen, including the one being sold are this size. I will be building one this same size since it is proven but has anybody tried any longer sizes?

    Many thanks for a really detailed and informative tutorial.
    I am working on something similar for surveying the ocean bottom i.e. structure. My unit will be controlled via a wired coaxial system that will process the gopro video being taken real time directly to your cell phone for viewing while underway. This will allow you to confirm what I am seeing on my chart plotter with down scan and side scan imaging. This should be very helpful in locating good fishing spots along shipping channels and associated structure nearby. Also could be use to verify structure and fish on artificial reefs. This procedure will allow you to mark waypoints of possible good fishing spots to be used in the future as the video is played real time.

      @@bobbygfl Did you ever take any video with your design? I would love to see it as it would help me in my design. Many thanks for any information you can supply.

    Nice work. I can't find this kind of sink here (France), well when I Google teardrop sink I only get sink for bathrooms 😂 would you have an Idea of a website I could get it from ? Cheers

      @@bobbygfl great thanks. Found it ! Would you recommand 300g or 800g ?

    • @bobbygfl
      @bobbygfl  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Guitoucaz depends on how deep you need it to go. We were trolling from a sail boat. So I needed very little weight. Bigger the weight faster you’ll need to troll.

  • @laingej
    @laingej 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Can you put the weight inside? Make be m going to try some fins on ot to make it dive deep.thanks for the video bro very nice

    • @bobbygfl
      @bobbygfl  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’d attach a down rigger weight to it to get it to dive deeper rather than put weight in it. At about 10 mph it’ll run about 2-3 feet under water as build.

    Cool video. Wondering why you didn't just use purple primer and pvc glue that stuff never comes apart. Also you could have run a nut all the way on the eye bolt then put a small washer inside with a lock nut before you glued it together. No need for epoxy.
