I know y'all aren't magicians but God as a nurse I love y'all. Once a social worker offered to stay with my patient in my place to make sure he got to his ride home ok since the cab was covered by a hospital voucher and the driver was late and I needed to go back to the floor. She even gave him cash to buy lunch from the cafeteria since he only had change and had go count them out and when he tried to pay her back she was like don't you dare worry about it. I love our social workers ❤

We had a social worker on our ward and she was an absolute gem. Unfortunately she moved away so doesn’t work with us anymore. God she was so incredible. The way she advocated for our patients and her coworkers was amazing. Anyone that works with her in the future is so lucky to have her and they don’t even know it yet

I worked in health care for 15 years
before I came down with meningitis. I started in dietary and went to activity assistant then assistant director and also got my CNA. I loved, loved my job as an activity dir. I worked not only at home but worked for work at home lol. It broke my heart when I had to stop working. Yes it wasn't always a bed of roses. Social workers in my eyes are also works in activities. They work so hard !! They do it all. God blessed very special people for this blessing. God blessed special people for health care. God bless you all. ❤

Hey, fellow Montreal health care worker, some English translation for you:
PAB = PSWs (personal support worker)
Stage = clinical internship (stage is a stage… the thing you perform on)
    Clinical supervisor: clinical preceptor
That’s all I can think of for now. Love this podcast! 😊😊

Love this interview. I'm a social worker working with the disability community. I supported many who are aging or medically needy. I can relate so much to this guest!

37:38 ugh you guys, thank you, thank you, thank you! The guilt and frustration is so, so real! Even in the billing portion of healthcare is really taxing, so thank you both so much for sharing and pointing to that ❤❤❤

I'm so glad I happen to keep coming across TH-camrs etc that talk about Healthy Boundaries! Because I've in the past year or 2 decided to have that for my life & my relationships and I feel so much better about my life. Thank you for promoting healthy boundaries ❤

I take care of my 87 year old mom, and she gets up at 3 a.m., seeing people in the room hall, etc. I really don't sleep well and understand about the dementia clients you take care of and how you go through. 😂

I haven’t finished the episode yet, but as a social worker, the title made me cry

I was a travel ICU nurse and worked nights to deliberately not interact with the loco social workers. They're crazier than the nurses@😅

That’s how I started too. I wanted to help people. I got my associates degree and was told several times I was too quiet (honestly didn’t know that was a problem until I started college) but I wasn’t treated negatively. I loved the program. Went for my Bachelor’s and I wish I didn’t. I was told that I wouldn’t make a good social worker and I had no idea what I was doing to be honest. I wanted initially to do CPS work but realized I didn’t want to go into that anymore. I was treated so negatively during my time getting my bachelors that I didn’t end up going for my Masters, I am still kinda of stuck. I had something personal happen and since then I’ve wanted to work within the medical field.

Oh oh oh. I'm sorry but I got to stop watching right now. Yes yes yes when others think you don't know a thing. I was more than just a bingo lady. Love y'all. Thank you.

Do you say that you're married to a woman because they're trans? It doesn't add up for me! Just curious since you keep on mentioning wifey.
