AK-101 and 103 have always been my go to when i want to take a good AK into a raid. Also folks don't skip the charging handle + the recoil pad for that cheap extra ergo!
About to comment this! Why would I use a gun that I have to put more effort into maybe getting kills when I can use the 101 with my 42-46 depending on how I build it and have it actually be good out the gate. But if those want to play with the other guns let them have fun. I'm not here to tell anyone how to play the game
it's a shame they nerf the gun so much just because of the .300 AAC round. But if you'd ask me, what they should do is make the m4 handguards interchangeable with the MCX's just like in real world. Just add a different barrel to accommodate this option.
@Gigabeef the reason .300blk isnt compatable with 5.56 is just bullet diameter. Its a 7.62 bullet shoved into a 5.56 case. hence why there is a M62 tracer in the .300blk ammo. Alot of the suppressors in game are multicaliber so they can be used on from anything it max internal diameter or smaller. which most of them in game are .308/7.62mm some are .338/8.6mm or even .45/11.43mm (DT hybrid). But you could shoot anything threw it as long as its smaller than the max internal diameter of the suppressor. Sig is also just an asshole and use a propiratary taper system on their barrels so you have to buy a seperate mount to mount any other suppressor that would fit it. There are other caviaots IRL that come into effect like the amount of pressure the muzzle flash and the volume of gas the rounds has etc that allow a suppressor to do it job properly. You cant put a 9mm ospry can on a .338 lapua jsut because the bullet will fit down it, it would not hold up to the pressure. there is also a difference between rifle rated and magnum rated as well as full auto rated suppressors. Not all suppressors in game are full auto rated so they will start to cause malfunctions to even break/pop from all the extra pressure & heat IRL when shot full auto. While normal rifle rated suppressors wont handle magnum calibers like .338 lapua mag even though they would fit and work perfectly fine bullet size wise. Magnums typically have a much larger powder load or general volume of gunpowder which make higher pressure which causes increased wear and tear on a suppressor. IRL you will get suppressor with a "up too (x)caliber" rating where you can shoot that caliber jsut fine and never have to worry about issues. that "up to caliber" is typically the most commonly/easlily compabile caliber. IRL its normally the typical magnum calibers like .300 win mag/PRC/NORMA mag or .338 win mag/lapua mag/NORMA mag or jsut .50BMG.
The mcx is incompatible with 556 muzzle devices because .300 blackout bullets have a bigger diameter, not to mention the difference in thread pitches between said devices and the barrel
I would imagine the reason you can't use most 5.56 suppressors with a .300blk is that they're different diameter bullets, the .300blk is basically a 7.62mm bullet (the actual bullet itself), stuffed into a 5.56 case (look at the neck of the case in game, it barely has one) - it was designed to give good "stopping power" at short to medium ranges and be suppressed, all while being able to use a standard AR-15/M4 lower/magazines and only have to swap the upper. Cool caliber, but AFAIK that's why you can't use dedicated 5.56 suppressors, they're literally not big enough. If I'm correct that's really good attention to detail on the part of BSG... if I'm wrong... well, I'm used to that :)
Yep 300blk is a 7.62nato/.308 bullet in a necked up 5.56nato case. Should take standard AR10(7.62 Nato) muzzle devices. Basically American 7.62x39 Warsaw lol. Nearly identical performances.
I think one of the most slept on weapons is the AK-102. With the aggressor handguard, RVG (foregrip), RRD (muzzle break), 6G15U butt-pad you can get something like 60 ergo and 45 recoil. Although sometimes the aggressor is hard to get a hold of, I like how short it is. Works well in tight spaces like factory or inside the resort of shoreline.
Giga does not care much for the 102 vs the 101 but your point is mostly valid. Best in class handguard for the 102 can be had on the flee market which is not the case for the 101 and both are usually cheaper.
For the last build I believe there is a keymod foregrip that gives no recoil benefits but adds 10 ergo, might also be a consideration for extra ergo an is pretty cheap if I remember correctly
Yeahhhhhh now with the 101 having 11 dispersion its going to be ridiculous. Its really unfortunate there's not a high capacity mag available, but that would pretty much make it a no-brainer I suppose. Thanks for the video!
.300blk vs 5.56(.223) is one way compatible. You can shoot 5.56 down a .30 cal suppressor but not the other way round. You can also chamber an AR15 in .300blk and I'm hoping they eventually add multiple barrels and calibers ala the mutant. At least let us put the MCX upper on an AR lower.
So the 300BLK is 30 caliber in diameter, or in metric 7.62mm in diameter. The 5.56mm diameter is 5.56. The hole/bore for the 5.56 suppressors is too small for the 7.62mm and would cuase a malfunction/ bullet would strike the suppressor if it were fired. However you may use a 7.62 suppressor on any caliber/MM sized bullet that is smaller (with in reason accounting for pressure differences) so like you can use a 7.62 Suppressor for 5.56mm gun. Caliber specific Suppressors typically make the gun quieter and suppress the flash better than a suppressor that's sized up.
My only complaint now about the MCX is that you can't use it loud. Of course if you really wanted to you could, but it is much worse without the suppressor and it is one of the best sounding guns loud. Otherwise, I've been loving the changes BSG has been making.
@@demgainz2216 the projectile is the same diameter across 7.62x51, 54, 39 and 35. It's just the cartridge length that is different ie the bit the bullet sits in filled with gunpowder if that helps.
Seeing that awesome ak-101 build and keeping the AKMN in mind I wish there was a muzzle break/silencer combo for 5.45 AK’s other than reactor/wafflemaker. Would be awesome to have something middle of the road on the way to the meta silencer build, running silencer on 5.45 AK’s doesn’t feel worth it til then.
Even mid range m4's feel so good now, that's all I have been running. Mcx is awesome on factory for pmc kills. Scar feels even better than it did last wipe. Hard to use the Aug or the g36 over any of those
to be honest I still rather run a good adar over m4.. yes m4 is easy kill up close but there is something about tapping people instead of spraying. 150k adar ftw
5.45 just suffers with low damage, that's always the issue. You can get just as good if not better performance from 5.56 so I tend to stick to that once I get M856A1
The mcx can’t use regular 5.56 muzzle devices because the bullet is way thicker than 5.56, if you load blackout into a weapon that fires 5.56, you’ll have a good chance of it exploding your barrel.
I really wish BSG would nerf first shot recoil on a lot of guns. I understand their auto-recoil system is supposed to replicate real life, but any trained shooter knows that the first shot in a string of automatic fire doesn't kick THAT much, especially with intermediate cartridges like 5.56 and 5.45.
So glad they made these changes. Used the shorty g36 and decked SCAR last wipe and had okay success but they were overall just not that good even though I was enjoying them. Now I can use really cool guns and they will actually compete in price to performance! If you want something with better recoil for the G36 you can run the longer 480mm barrel, the bipod, and the saker ASR which has really solid recoil

m856a1 is really what you need--need to either get down peacekeeper's quest line to The Cult Pt 1 and he sells at LL2, or you can craft it pretty reasonably at Workbench 2
At the start of the wipe with old recoil I only played Snipers. Recently found a video that's perfect for me rn by a small TH-camr. For two guns each under ₽100k to ₽130k. Get a SAG-AK Short with the PWS CQB muzzle from the Flea, get another AK in that realm, like a AK-105, put the PWS onto it and Slightly mod it. The Sag honestly only needs a Surpressor (PBS-4 often the cheapest from AKS-74UB) and Scope (I like the Monstrum 2x). If you know the video/youtuber, comment it under me. I just yesterday snacked two LVL40's as Solo against their UMP and Mosin. They also had a fully modded SV-98. There was also a Air Drop. 50kg, 7k Exp through Scavs. Got 600k in Loot. I love Woods. Never get out of there with less than ₽300k
Remember the NT-4 supressor! Raiders and Rogues spawn with that one all the time so it's always between 20-30k on the flea, super good, super cheap and better than the mini monster
The reason the MCX can't take 5.56 suppressors is because 300BLK has a much larger projectile diameter than 5.56. If the suppressor would even fit, then the bullet would destroy the suppressor.
It's physically impossible for the MCX to be compatible with 5.56 suppressors. The MCX is chambered in .300 blackout. The dimensions of the round are 7.62x35mm, and a 7.62mm projectile will not fit down a 5.56mm bore.
.300 blackout is of course .3 of an inch, while 5.56 is .223 of an inch so if they wanted to add more suppressors to the mcx they would need to use 7.62 suppressors and a muzzle adaptor as 7.62 is .308

Hey Gigabeef, it is nice and dandy showing of and nerding about stuff. Just a shame no casual player can’t run them. We are forced to use Boltaction in the 30ish mids to get the stupid sniper skill and if not boltaction then it hase to be a ADRA, AKM, AKSU, Shotgun etc. all the stupid dressup tasks. I don’t know, maybe I’m just frustrated. I have decided weeks ago, that this will be my last wipe. I will play until march and help a friend, then I’m leaving and probably not returning. This game is so flawed on so many levels from my casual perspective. This particular wipe shows it best. Even one podcast episode can’t summerise it. My prepared “I’m leaving tarkov” letter has already over 5 pages.
@@Shadowdoctor117 Arm stam drain is determined by weight factored by ergo, as is weapon inertia. When I said weight is a minor factor I meant that you aren't going to notice a difference between two builds that have 500g difference between them, even 1kg is barely discernible.
@@Gigabeef fair enough I recall incorrectly, so 500g is about 1.5 seconds, all else being equal. A property called ergonomic weight is used to determine it, iirc the ergo delta is applied to the weight. So if the starting ergo and current ergo is identical, but the weight is different, you will notice the difference once you get above 500g in weight difference. However, ergo would play a bigger role weight being equal. Also means that two different guns with the same weight and ergo will have different aim stam drain if base ergo is different
I feel that the akm now is trash. The other guns improved greatly compared to it. 5.56 feels loads better we have access to a1 after cultists or whatever from peace keeper. It's a great round. All I've been using is the akm for mid wipe and I'm switching over to mdar/adar. It's strange. It appears there's a timeline coming together that makes the 5.56 platform viable in tarkov. M80 and BP changes are another reason I'm falling into 5.56. I can run decent a1 ammo. I can't run anything but ps in 7.62 which is a decent round but I'll take that a1 at this point in the wipe. I really am surprised to see this though. Never thought I'd go 7.62 to 5.56 and most likely back to 7.62 when I get BP in a wipe. It's been 7.62 only for a while for me.
It's definitely not trash at all. BP is arguably the best ammo in the game. The other guns needed major changes to be able to compete with it with their lower damage ammo. This is the most balanced the guns have been in a long time. Multiple calibers actually feel viable as opposed to nothing but 7.62x39 and 7.62x51
@@meandab saddly m80 is too hard to get. I think 5.56 is the strongest ammo in the game an I appreciate they buffed the cool guns that use them. 5.45 is strong because how easy it is to get decent ammo for it. Honestly that 5.56nato ak should be the meta. Ak74 low recoil stats with great ammo. I think they buffed the AKS_74Us its not hard to get them with high ergo and really low recoil currently

I really haven't played with bp in the akm this wipe so I can't speak to it but if the recoil is not much different from ps than I'll be running bp akm late wipe I was on the ps akm train then the recoil and ammo changes are making me want to run 5.56. What I was saying is that comparing what ammo you can run out of 5.56 mid wipe compared to 7.62 and the recoil changes makes the 5.56 more viable to me. Higher pen and RPM with the A1 compared to PS. I'm not pleased with how the akm feels compared to even an m4 now as well. Other weapons had their recoil improved a lot more than the AKM's. But the MDR is very nice imo. Peacekeeper is my boy apparently.
@@Teajam 5.45 platforms also feels really really good. Significant improvement on the U. Might be my new go to for factory. It is actually worth collecting and using the BP and BT you find. I have like 700 BP (woods) or so I was waiting till I had 1000 to sell but I'll probably burn em.

Sadly AKM still the most efficient with PS ammo I feel. Still can’t afford spraying 40k worth of ammo per mag with a 150k gun. Still using RFB with m61 and 366ap and Sks with BP. Still half cheaper than any mega build atm. Also why is the RPK feel so good? Number is not good, but recoil and spread feel so good even barely modded.
Bullpups make zero sense in this game. They should have higher ergo in general to replicate the main reason why they exist in real life - much better mobility as a result of shorter overall length and the weight of the gun being balanced at the center vs on both ends. The draw back should be weight and otherwise it should be in line with recoil for those specific ammo types.

i saw someone testing the g36 The KV adjustable stock 6 recoil may not seem like much but in the shooting range it made a huge difference.
Same here while watching LVNDMARK. Tried it myself as well and yeah it's def a big change.
g36 is god tier budget pvp weapon but hopefully the playerbase never realizes it and it stays dirt cheap

You would be correct. Can't fire a .30 cal round through a .22 cal hole without causing some problems.

600 rpm instead of 650 makes the recoil feel even less aswell, makes it pretty shit in close range though compared to anything that fires faster

.300 blackout is a 7.62 bullet in a 5.56x45 case that has the throat opened up. That's why 5.56 attachments do not fit. It needs 7.62 attachments.

How has the recoil changes effected carbines not seen many vids on the after the change and not had chance to find out thanks to quests

At the start of the wipe with old recoil I only played Snipers.
Recently found a video that's perfect for me rn by a small TH-camr. For two guns each under ₽100k to ₽130k.
Get a SAG-AK Short with the PWS CQB muzzle from the Flea, get another AK in that realm, like a AK-105, put the PWS onto it and Slightly mod it. The Sag honestly only needs a Surpressor (PBS-4 often the cheapest from AKS-74UB) and Scope (I like the Monstrum 2x).

I just yesterday snacked two LVL40's as Solo against their UMP and Mosin. They also had a fully modded SV-98.
There was also a Air Drop. 50kg, 7k Exp through Scavs. Got 600k in Loot. I love Woods. Never get out of there with less than ₽300k
Remember the NT-4 supressor! Raiders and Rogues spawn with that one all the time so it's always between 20-30k on the flea, super good, super cheap and better than the mini monster
Not better for ergo though, which is why I end up using the mini all the time
Should use hera arms foregrip on mcx, for the stat it provides its dirt cheap since its picky on what stuff it can be put on to
The reason the MCX can't take 5.56 suppressors is because 300BLK has a much larger projectile diameter than 5.56. If the suppressor would even fit, then the bullet would destroy the suppressor.
It's physically impossible for the MCX to be compatible with 5.56 suppressors.
The MCX is chambered in .300 blackout. The dimensions of the round are 7.62x35mm, and a 7.62mm projectile will not fit down a 5.56mm bore.

.300 blackout is of course .3 of an inch, while 5.56 is .223 of an inch so if they wanted to add more suppressors to the mcx they would need to use 7.62 suppressors and a muzzle adaptor as 7.62 is .308
The reason .300 BLK barrels are not compatible with 5.56 muzzle devices is because .300 is a bigger caliber than 5.56

yes 556 suppressors dont work for 300blk. 300blk is a 7.62x51 projectile inside a 556 case.
Just so you know, if you had 50 vertical and 150 horizontal recoil two different weapons it would still be different overall values
I think with some of these changes many of these weapons are well worth it even into late wipe

There's like 5 different comments about this failed caliber already. We get it. 300 blackout is a .308 projectile in a slightly modified 5.56 case, still dumb and useless caliber
nope its 762x35 where as the bullet itself is 0.05mm less in diameter

Finally, they are tweaking the guns. Mdr still king but for bang for buck, 101 has always been better, easily dropping recoil to the low 40s. Glad to see people use it again
300BC is a 7.62 bullet in a 35mm case (7.62x35) . This is why you can t use 5.56 suppressors

MP9 is awesome, 9x19 ammo still underwhelming lol. Love MP9 in factory with AP6.3 and maybe PBP if I have some to have at the top of my mags.

it is nice and dandy showing of and nerding about stuff. Just a shame no casual player can’t run them. We are forced to use Boltaction in the 30ish mids to get the stupid sniper skill and if not boltaction then it hase to be a ADRA, AKM, AKSU, Shotgun etc. all the stupid dressup tasks. I don’t know, maybe I’m just frustrated. I have decided weeks ago, that this will be my last wipe. I will play until march and help a friend, then I’m leaving and probably not returning. This game is so flawed on so many levels from my casual perspective. This particular wipe shows it best. Even one podcast episode can’t summerise it. My prepared “I’m leaving tarkov” letter has already over 5 pages.

Weight is a very minor factor in EFT in terms of weapon handling, I wouldn't worry about it at all.
Makes a decent difference for arm stamina but the ads speed affect its v small I agree
It determines how long you can hold on ADS, so its more important than you think
@@Shadowdoctor117 Arm stam drain is determined by weight factored by ergo, as is weapon inertia. When I said weight is a minor factor I meant that you aren't going to notice a difference between two builds that have 500g difference between them, even 1kg is barely discernible.
Perhaps 1kg is around 3 seconds when I tested it last, so about 10% difference +/- as you add&remove it
@@Gigabeef fair enough I recall incorrectly, so 500g is about 1.5 seconds, all else being equal. A property called ergonomic weight is used to determine it, iirc the ergo delta is applied to the weight. So if the starting ergo and current ergo is identical, but the weight is different, you will notice the difference once you get above 500g in weight difference. However, ergo would play a bigger role weight being equal. Also means that two different guns with the same weight and ergo will have different aim stam drain if base ergo is different
300blk uses a 7.62mm bullet instead of 5.55 which is why you can't use those suppressors
I feel that the akm now is trash. The other guns improved greatly compared to it. 5.56 feels loads better we have access to a1 after cultists or whatever from peace keeper. It's a great round. All I've been using is the akm for mid wipe and I'm switching over to mdar/adar. It's strange. It appears there's a timeline coming together that makes the 5.56 platform viable in tarkov. M80 and BP changes are another reason I'm falling into 5.56. I can run decent a1 ammo. I can't run anything but ps in 7.62 which is a decent round but I'll take that a1 at this point in the wipe. I really am surprised to see this though. Never thought I'd go 7.62 to 5.56 and most likely back to 7.62 when I get BP in a wipe. It's been 7.62 only for a while for me.
It's definitely not trash at all. BP is arguably the best ammo in the game. The other guns needed major changes to be able to compete with it with their lower damage ammo. This is the most balanced the guns have been in a long time. Multiple calibers actually feel viable as opposed to nothing but 7.62x39 and 7.62x51
@@meandab saddly m80 is too hard to get. I think 5.56 is the strongest ammo in the game an I appreciate they buffed the cool guns that use them. 5.45 is strong because how easy it is to get decent ammo for it. Honestly that 5.56nato ak should be the meta. Ak74 low recoil stats with great ammo. I think they buffed the AKS_74Us its not hard to get them with high ergo and really low recoil currently
@@meandab No BP is meta. Not what I was saying at all. I really haven't played with bp in the akm this wipe so I can't speak to it but if the recoil is not much different from ps than I'll be running bp akm late wipe I was on the ps akm train then the recoil and ammo changes are making me want to run 5.56. What I was saying is that comparing what ammo you can run out of 5.56 mid wipe compared to 7.62 and the recoil changes makes the 5.56 more viable to me. Higher pen and RPM with the A1 compared to PS. I'm not pleased with how the akm feels compared to even an m4 now as well. Other weapons had their recoil improved a lot more than the AKM's. But the MDR is very nice imo. Peacekeeper is my boy apparently.
@@Teajam 5.45 platforms also feels really really good. Significant improvement on the U. Might be my new go to for factory. It is actually worth collecting and using the BP and BT you find. I have like 700 BP (woods) or so I was waiting till I had 1000 to sell but I'll probably burn em.

Sadly AKM still the most efficient with PS ammo I feel. Still can’t afford spraying 40k worth of ammo per mag with a 150k gun. Still using RFB with m61 and 366ap and Sks with BP. Still half cheaper than any mega build atm. Also why is the RPK feel so good? Number is not good, but recoil and spread feel so good even barely modded.
Finally the mdrs will drop in price. Thx❤

Bullpups make zero sense in this game. They should have higher ergo in general to replicate the main reason why they exist in real life - much better mobility as a result of shorter overall length and the weight of the gun being balanced at the center vs on both ends. The draw back should be weight and otherwise it should be in line with recoil for those specific ammo types.
