The lighters from 2016.... either way who gives a fuck. This is not a restoration on an antique. He barely did a good job, let alone lied to us big time.
So glad it wasn’t an actual old vintage zippo, sorry if I’m rude but the lighter would’ve been better off how it was...this restoration was bad.. plus I feel bad for the dude that paid $100
Ill have to look for one of those. This one is particularly interesting as the figure is that of Guan Yu. An important figure in Chinese culture. He was a general for the house of Shu, and one of the Five Tigers, and friend of Liu Bei. And was named the God of War. He fought in many wars during Han Dynasty. Don't mind me geeking out about Chinese history. I love it.
In my opinion, that is not considered as "antique." It is shown in the bottom that it was manufactured in the year 2016. Moreover, based on my research, you can consider a thing an antique when it's around 100 years old
Nice, but why did you hydrodip the inner workings? its just gonna scrape off. Been better off polishing. After you put fluid in it, it will break the paint down.
Agreed Scott, stupidity......not a fan of hydro dipping anything.....especially on an item that's pitted like the inner liner on this bad boy.....looks like crap and will only get worse. As well, the cocaine nails have to go!
how can u all say this man done a bad job on the lighter??? dont matter how old it is.. the thing was messed up and he fixed it..and it works great as he showed u...man ppl dont appreciate nothing nemore in this world...the 100 dollar price was to steap i agree but u gotta remember these guys use there on stuff to do this and im sure that cost money to buy...like the chemicals they use..and he did clean the lighter at the end so he was being safe and considerate...nice job man u did really go0d
・ The wick does not cut. ・ Do not paint inside. • Sand cleaning should be done slowly in a larger container to allow the sand inside to flow. ・ After soaking in acid, it should be washed with a larger amount of clean water. You should also wear gloves.
You said if there are any errors to let you know well you painted the insert, lighter fluid is naphtha, naphtha is also marketed as paint thinner. That combined with the friction of sliding in and out of the case that paint will not last very long and honestly it doesn’t look very good painted to begin with, it should be bare metal.
Very nice work!! If it was me, i would only fix the outer shell, then go to any Walmart, buy the cheapest Zippo you can find, and just remove the inner part, fits right in. New everything.
Collectors like matching inserts, however this is a 2016 lighter and for practical use, I very much agree with just replacing the insert. That said, I don’t smoke, so I guess you could put me in the collector category.
Right a 2016, older ones were stamped and not script along with tic mark's. Hydrochloric and sulfuric acid would have eaten that lighter am sure it was weak acid.
mình nói thiệt bạn đừng giận. bạn làm video cho người nước ngoài coi mà đồ nghệ dụng cụ và tay nghề nhìn nghiệp dư quá. mình thấy mấy comment toàn chê bai .Bạn nên tập trung làm chuyên nghiệp hơn đi.chúc bạn thành công
There is a European bloke who specialises in lighter restorations as well...you use similar methods to him including using the drill for the sand tumbling of the small parts...great job
Help me share the video. If there are any errors in the video please let us know. Thank you. I love you

Yes can
The casing isn’t that old, it was made in June (F) 2016 (16) as marked on the base of the brass shell
Sx 2015 mà gửi từ usa về à làm màu quá
INSERT IS FAKE , WHEEL FLINT ... IVEN IS OK, THAT'S 15-20 $ LIGHTER , NOT 100 $..AND IT'S ONLY 4 YEARS OLD ZIPPO . NOT ANTIQUE
"antique"...manufactured in 2016
exactly what I thought.
@Bautista BARTOLOMÉ I don’t think most of these restorations were in as bad shape as he shows us. I think he ages them and then cleans them up.
@Professor Y they don't restore finishes. They just repair it.
@@PenaceaID Such lighters can be bought very cheaply in Vietnam. I bought such a fake myself for $ 5

Very Nice Restoration
-2016 is not antique.
-The hole in the felt is not for filling.
-Gasoline is not fuel for a Zippo.
-Wear gloves.
-Kids, don't even think of trying this at home.
Exactly the only fuel you should ever use is the obm Zippo fuel or Ronsonol
Gasoline and other less flamable liquids will ruin the wick
And... Who wants coating on their insert?
Wow fantastic greetings from Indonesia
Back in action boss. Nice work. Time to cut those nails.
david brown was gona say that’s a nice coke pinky but all of them are absurdly long 😂
Somebody get him nail clippers and a file. Maybe he could restore a set and use them!!!

GREEEEEEEEAAAAAAAT JOB KID. WAAOOOO. YES SIRRRRRRERR
Wow what an amazing zippo restoration!
Nice lighter.
Great work now some needs to teach him to cut his nails lol
Jesus, thought I was the only one freaked out by that.
In some Asian countries it's a symbol of prosperity. I grow my finger nails also because of that same reason.
@@RaptorProducts1991 I was going to point out it's a cultural difference but having said that now I gotta go trim my nails, lol
Yeah I’m sure the man knows how to do all that, but can’t figure out how to cut his nails.
Some engineers that work with small parts all the time keep them long as "tweezers"

Antique lighter lol, Lighter was made june 2016.
Should be rusty lighter despite antique one
I checked and you are correct sir. I did not know that the date was on there like that . Thanks
Yep thought the same, must have been in the sea since new.
I really laughed, when I saw the stamped year, besides, gold doesn't rust or corrode, so it must be brass, and that thing ain't worth 100 bucks.
What tipped me off was how clean the spring was when he pulled it out.
Great job
Very nice job!

Restoration 7/10. You could have done it much better. (Awesome restorations)
To be honest, I didn't think there would be any metal left after the rust was removed. Surprise, surprise. Nicely done.

You are supposed to use the whole wick. Then wind it in between the rayon (cotton) back and forth with each piece
Think of letter Z or S
this is a FOUR YEAR OLD lighter...where in the world was it kept to get it into that condition?
It was most likely artificially degraded to catch views!
The spring is too new =)))

So who’s the genius who paid you $100 to repair their “antique” (2016) zippo? They could’ve sent it to zippo and they would’ve repaired it for free.

How the hell did a June 2016 Zippo land up in that condition. I am a collector and when i saw the date code, thought something was dodgy
They artificially age them for "restoration" videos. Complete lie.
