After hiking the different trails as well as going to Dewey Lake, what has been your favorite? Would you recommend the white pass at this price point? I feel like it is awfully expensive for a train ride.

The train through White Pass is very expensive and it maybe would be nice if it weren’t raining. We would never go again if the weather was bad. Although that’s difficult to predict in Alaska. One nice walk is straight up through town to the gold miner cemetery. It’s about one and a half miles from town. The hike to Dewey Lake is very nice except a little strenuous perhaps. We saw more kinds of mushrooms than we’ve ever seen. Very colorful. The last time we were in Skagway, we hiked to a place called Smugglers Cove. The video of that hike is posting on August 25 at 1 PM PDT. It’s a nice gentle hike of about a mile through forest.
Whatever you do, enjoy your day in Skagway. Thank you for your comments and thank you for subscribing to our channel.
