I got a 2024 Ultimate and it is a stunning SUV being smooth and peppy when your floor it. Lots bells and whistle and no complaints after 5 weeks of ownership. Very happy overall.
I just bought a 2024 Tucson Hybrid with Ultimate trim in Canada. I traded in my 2022 Ioniq 5 EV with Ultimate trim. Both vehicles are similar ride quality and overall size. The Ioniq 5 has slightly more advanced tech but the Tucson hybrid is still a fantastic vehicle. Although both have panoramic roofs, only the Tucson can actually open (which I miss) to let fresh air in, let hot air out, etc. In Canada, the wait times for a Toyota RAV4 hybrid are 12 months, the Honda CR-V Hybrids are in stock but the most expensive and why i got the Tucson hybrid over the competition.
I bought the N Line in January and I love it. I get 40 mpg on the dot in Washington state and it’s quite fast with that hybrid engine and shift’s between the engine and hybrid better than any other car that I test drove. Very impressed with these newer hybrid Hyundai’s
We just got one about a month ago. I know a refresh is coming out for 2025 but we looked at the pictures and neither my wife and I like the "tablet sticking out of the dash" look so we decided we liked the current interior better and didn't to wait plus a dealership near us had a limited AWD demo with just over 1k on the odometer they were selling for almost 5k off MSRP. The features of the limited like the huge sunroof, all the customization with the infotainment, the front and rear sensors, and the 360 degree camera make it feel like a premium vehicle. In eco or smart mode if you don't have a heavy foot it drives very nice but if you want to go fast, put it in sport and put your foot down and it will go. The backseats being able to tilt back give it plenty of space even for larger adults. My one complaint is the auto setting on the wipers seems too sensitive to changes and will go from slow to fast and back to slow just from the spray of a vehicle in front of you so I usually keep it off auto. I can't figure out how to get it to show a tachometer either but I think it can. Also it has no fog lights but the lights are plenty bright.
Thanks for the review man. Subaru finally figured out what was wrong with my Remote Start. The ENTIRE computer, electrical system and the Fob had to be reconfigured and reset. But they still don’t know why the oil Biden light flickers when the engine is cold and you hit a pothole or speed bump, nor can they figure out why the “service tires soon” light comes on when it is first started. Nor can they figure out why turning Left, my Lemon 🍋 tells you to keep your eyes on the road. Nor can they figure out why it’s getting only 20mpg, the car randomly unlocks itself or why the hatch opens up on its own. I’ll be SOO Glad when I can get rid of my 🍋 and go back to Toyota.
Of course, thanks for regularly watching! I’m glad they figured out one of the issues. But that’s so wild how your Forester experience went so south. 😕
@@AutomotiveAnonymous208 Yes it is. I truly believed that my Forester would be the last vehicle that I’d ever have to buy. But in 26, some “lucky” buyer can enjoy the pleasure of owning my Forester, 🤣
An awesome vehicle rated better cx50 and just as fast in the hybrid version(6.8 vs6.6) nearly a tie with much better mpg it’s a winner with a near luxury interior too In limited an Nline
Ohhh, haha sorry about my confusion. I think that’s just how my camera with its frames per second setting/shutter speed type settings picked it up. It doesn’t do that to the naked eye. Sorry to disappoint lol. 😅
Love everything about the car…except the engine. A 1.6L engine turbocharged engine is quite small and the turbo adds an additional layer of complexity. Why are they adding a turbo so the car will perform like a 2.0L engine, instead of adding a 2.0L engine itself? It’s a great car, but definitely requires proper maintenance/care to make the most out of the car in the long run.
Yeah, that’s a great point! It took me a bit of looking into this powertrain to confirm it was turbo’d because that complexity also didn’t make much sense to me.
@@paulpesce3732 Yes, a 1.6L is more fuel efficient, but also, generally needs to work harder. This can lead to higher revs and potentially more wear over time, but modern engines are quite capable. If you still have questions, then I would discuss with a mechanic (outside of the dealer).
I dunno, why not ask Nissan? They use ONLY a 1.5L 3-cylinder turbo engine on the Rogue which is the same sized vehicle as the Tucson, which has a 1.6L 4-cylinder AND an Electric engine additionally to move the same sized vehicle. I'm sure your Masters degree in Engineering and years studying proper propulsion for Compact SUVs far outweighs the experience and knowledge of the engineering design teams at both Hyundai and Nissan, so im sure your concerns carry far more weight and couldn't possibly be based on old wives tales that were based on much older engines from decades ago,so glad you're enlightening us all with your degree in automotive engineering.
@@wolfshanze5980 Good input, and I spoke with two mechanics about this. We asked a lot of questions, and the engine was certainly a deciding factor. Think about it this way: a smaller engine gives you better "economy," but it also has to do more RPMs to keep up with a larger engine. More RPMs mean more usage, and more usage means a shorter life. It's a simple principle. The turbo is an extra component, and while it can last with good care, it inherently adds more complexity to the vehicle. Good luck!
Great review. A buddy of mine has this exact model in the same color and he loves it. My wife has a 2022 gas powered one and she also loves it. I still think Subarus overall are a better product but Hyundai has definitely become a great choice as long as you do not plan to go off roading.
Thanks! After having owned the non hybrid for a while, are you guys happy with that decision compared to the hybrid like your buddy has? I was pretty surprised how well this system all worked together! But I haven’t driven a non hybrid to compare the experience (yet).
@@AutomotiveAnonymous208 my wife is very happy with it! Despite what I have read about the gasoline version being underpowered I think it’s fine. Although my preference would still be an Outback XT!
What do you mean 'as long as you don't go offroad"? The Tucson HTrac AWD system passed every test the Subaru Forester did when the Aussies tested it in a series of tough off road tests! Google the TH-cam video: "Best SUVs off-road: Top 12 medium SUVs compared - some fail to make it!" Only 4 of the 12 SUVs passed every test and the Tucson was one of the 4, so I think you might want to take back that statement of yours.
They never made a turbo? Who is they? The 1.6L Turbo from Hyundai has been around for quite some time and is one of their most successful engine designs, it has been used in multiple vehicles across both Hyundai and KIA autos, and for me personally, this is the SECOND time I bought a Hyundai with the 1.6L Turbo engine... I never had a single problem with my previous Hyundai Turbo, and I love it even more in my Hybrid Tucson. It's BOTH the Turbo AND the Electric engine that gives the Hybrid great acceleration. The ICE Tucson only has a weak 2.5L NA engine. What did you mean by "they never made a Turbo"?

The warranty coupled with a pleasant dealership to work with is hard to beat.
