I have been researching and taking pictures for this video off and on for a year now. Though the video may look incomplete it is the best I could do. This is not like the Smith Wiggleworth video where I had a dozen or so books to rely on. George Clark Rankin wrote of the famous Cripple Creek campground, "I have never heard such singing and preaching and shouting anywhere else in my life." But when I tried to research this revival I found nothing. I have traveled Wythe County up and down this past year and nobody I talked to ever heard of the place. The old Methodist revivals were some of the glorious of the times, and the least written about in Christian history. Jess Carr, writer of the Saint of the Wilderness, wrote much on RS Sheffey, yet not a word on the Cripple Creek camp meeting where he likely met his first wife , Elizabeth. After much research into what should have been some happy, winning, and victorious times; my conclusion was that this was a glorious time in history that was allowed to totally disappear from history, in which I am disappointed.

In the 70's I was brought up that it was the eve of destruction. We were out there witnessing as kids trying to wake folks up, and souls were won, churches were coming OUT of religiosity. The 80's hit and it all changed to prosperity, get rich, get stuff, spend MORE, and no real conviction, but build a huge building. NO fire just sitting and expecting GOD to bless materially. Pastors stopped talking about the BLOOD, church was all about feeling good and blessings, water down the WORD, and get them in and build big churches that were all about flash. Flash glorifies flesh NOT holiness. Now we have had a wave of "prophets" totally MISSING the mark on EVERYTHING they are proclaiming. Very upsetting what they're doing. I grew up attending a meeting where the presence just FLOWED, and I was young teens, this preacher got it done. Well, fast forward all these years and he is trying to make a comeback in the spot light, and he is on YT, and he is proclaiming stuff, even trying tent meetings, but LOST it. I don't even recognize this guy-spiritually. He is older, but seems used up and trying to capture what came so naturally way back. I wonder if seeking a platform and audience is more important now. Disappointing. Back in his younger days, he didn't mind offending, he called folks OUT of sin, deliverance happened. There was anointing, but in a humble spirit. He brought the message, yet it was definitely the Holy Ghost at work. Now it is as if they are proclaiming more of who they are in Christendom, as a position of authority. More of them, LESS of the moving of the Holy Ghost. Just saddens me, and I can't watch it, it wars with my spirit.
Wow. This sermon surely brings back so thoughts, reminders, and memories. Because I remember hearing it live on radio much here in Boston back in the 1980's. I also remember reading you 'Power magazines with much enthusiasts. Yes, we have to keep our eyes on the prize, which is Jesus. Rest in peace, Rev. Schambach, you have finished the work, you have finished the race, and your reward is in glory.
my brother loved bro Schambach so much, I remember the day he introduced me to him, it was when he was announced that hes gone to be with the Lord and My brother was so sad..I can understand no one is here to fill the gap, revival! man of Faith
