It's that everyone loves this game mode so much, that everyone makes levels in it and they end up trash. While older gamemodes are more fun for technical players who make tricky levels rather than are hyped by omg this stuff is new that makes it amazing. I think honestly that 3D world poses lots of challenges for technical level builders, except the gamemode gets flooded with levels made by unskilled builders with no apparent goal and terrible intents.
I think it's not about how they "love the gamemode". It's about the fact that this is the latest gamemode. Novices and clueless people will certainly make level in it, because "who the hell even want that 90s outdated garbage?!". "New" always have major influx of amateurs and young, and "old" is usually the home of old veterans that like the feeling of nostalgia, or just general "good old times".

That there's a stereotype or something that seems more apparent doesn't make the thing just for that audience. Mario audience is very wide, yes kids play it, but it has existed for a long time, people who used to be kids at that time are now grown ups, many many adults play mario, the amount of TH-camrs alone that are playing mario, they're adults.

I don't know why...but the best time watching Ryu is when he is lost in the level and there's like a million ways to go and he gets killed at random intervals. I love watching the process of elimination. When the path is obvious and he just dies at the same spot 50 times...that gets super boring...or if he just zips through the level, OR if its a puzzle...I hate puzzles!
That last level was lame, what the hell does the creator think when he does these things, that someone is really going to go through that pile of enemy? Of the two one, or the person will look for an obvious dev block like Ryu did or just go boo and leave, it doesn't make any sense, it could only be a Brazilian of course
About that one "Nano Perfect Level", I think the key to that level was, to start with a forward somersault or roll or whatever you call it. That way you accelerate faster than with a long jump at the beginning.

Ryu, that "tenta a sorte" is a brasilian one, "tenta a sorte" its like "try the luck" on the literal translate, but it means like on a fray or a figth, saying "do u wanna try ur luck on me?" because u r supose to lose and u would win if u had luck (sorry for my bad english)

Not sure if you tried something like this yet but, do an endless expert/super expert using only the starting lives. if expert, you can only use 15 live, 30 with super expert. If you get any 1 ups, you have to suicide the amount you get on the next stage, and see how far you can get with just starting lives, basically your playing high risk no reward. It's sort of like the 1 life start challenge, except instead of 1, you get full starting lives, but you can't get 1 ups to add to your life count. It would be interesting to see if you can get 1 life per stage for each mode, ex being if you do expert, try to get to stage 15, and maybe count that as a "you deserve a medal", then super expert version being "damn, why can't everyone play that well?". ill also include a normal / titan difficulty (know what game that's from? :p), normal mode means you can skip levels, but titan difficulty means it's no skip.

There is two guys playing it on TH-cam, which are Ryu himself (Check the link) and the guy who has the world record. Actually it’s how I got to know Ryu. 👌
Just why do so many people think really long snake block rides where absolutely nothing happens are a good idea? Like if there was any kind of dodging or platforming challenge to stay on, sure, but why emptiness with a slow snake block? Best answer I can think of is either to add artificial difficulty by making you wait before a hard section, or kids that think it's funny.
I have watched RYUKahr since SMM and I still don’t own the game. I went a bought a Switch however and bought SMM2 and made my first level/stage. Have the first clear: PP3-2QD-6XG Red coins are for secret ending and are not required but make the level more difficult, if it’s not already.
