Malta 1978

This is my Mum & Dad's 1978 Malta holiday. It's from an old cine film that I found in the loft and I've only just had it restored to a digital format. If you keep watching till the end, there is also a few minutes of one of my school sports days where you'll see about 4 seconds of 6 year old me with my stripey shirt on.

i was 11 year old and my dad was in the R.A.F we live in Brizebbugia in 1970/72 i when to The Royal Naval School Tal Handaq .great memory.

Ah yes! It reminds me of how Malta was in the 70s:
Most of the cars were British, there was construction going on everywhere with many half-completed building sites and rubble strewn all over the place. The old Bedford buses were still plying their trade and drinks and ice creams cost just a few pence.
It was all rather chaotic and very, very charming. I loved it.

That was brilliant to watch!! YOur video caught my eye becuse I too have a video of my parents on holiday in malta in 1978! I found it on some cine film after my mumpassed away so I had it transferred so I could watch it.. I am on the cine film with them and although I was very young, I actually still remmebr that holiday and being there, the atmosphere, the smells... the heat .... I put mine on my channel a couple of years ago so its there somewhere incase youd liek to see it ..I have no idea where abouts in Malta we stayed, but Id love to know and actually go back to the exact place ....liek a before and after and see what it is like now ...Thanks for uploading yours, i really enjoyed it!😍Sonique

Amazing to watch that ❤ My parents always took me to malta mellehia bay hotel age 7ish in the late 70s 80s beautiful place.
Not much diversity in your school sports day before the elites started destroying our culture 😢

I was there recently and wouldn't go back it's a mess now traffic everywhere far too many people loads of asylum seekers hanging around.i wish I'd seen it years ago
