The double door lock is useful to prevent being carjacked or mugged. You only unlock one door and avoid some theif getting in the car from the other side pointing a gun or knife in you face ! As an owner of 3 range rovers in Morocco, believe me that’s very useful.

I use the iPod connectivity/interface. If you look on Amazon, they're $100 from Jag/Land Rover. Don't pay that. I have one I bought for $10 plus $4 for a lightning adapter from Amazon, and it's worked flawlessly. I don't think bluetooth audio was introduced until 2013 in the L405 - I think. It's probably just the supercharger. The timing chain is more of a *tick tick tick tick* noise. I get it haha. We're all paranoid about them!
Usually around 80k miles, you'll need to look into doing the timing chain service. Obviously, it varies from car to car, but that's a safe number. Some do start causing misfires and engine knocking as early as 70k miles, though, and will immediately need to be repaired. If left without service, you're usually looking at engine replacement. I've had people comment in the past saying they were looking at $20k for parts and labor, but I can't confirm that. The $4k to $6k it would cost to do the timing chain service would be much cheaper. It is truly the achilles heel of the 5.0 L Jaguar V8.

I wasn't able to find a warranty that would cover it, as it was about to roll over to 100,000 miles. No warranty company wanted to touch it. None that were worth the money, at least. USAA (according to some subscribers) has a great warranty for the L322 with lower miles. My timing chain was done before I bought it. I'm moving halfway across the country in a few months, and once I settle in, I'm planning on taking it in for another major service - timing chain, diff, gearbox, etc. But that's honestly just preventative maintenance at this point. For me, I'd just take it to a dealer or authorized service center/mechanic. I'd mess something up horribly if I tried digging around the engine bay, so it's cheaper long term for me to pay someone to do it who backs their work up with a warranty. But I've seen a lot of people save the money DIY. I'm not suited for that, though. 😂😂
