  • Shalimar Woods is a forever student, learning and growing in her understanding of blackness and resiliency. Although born on the traditional territory of the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation, she identifies as a very proud Trinidadian women with African and Caribbean indigenous ancestral ties. Shalimar is passionate about producing spaces that offer healing justice within the Black community, specifically for women. It is her hope that through the methods of Black community art, culture and language, the African Diaspora can continue and excel during its journey of wellness and healing.
