Fun watching this particular video. I grew up in Homestead. My family were some of the original settlers of Key West. My grandmother was born there in 1896. She never went north of Homestead. I use to fish from East cape or Flamingo over to tavernier , key largo area. Where you were walking on the last board walk with the single egret. If you were to go due north of there about 12 miles we had a hunting camp there. While most of my friends were at parties on the weekend in high school I was either on a boat in the keys fishing or an airboat in the glades hunting and frogging. I miss it down there. But to many people there now. Thanks for the memories.
If you made it to Alligator Alley, you were close to me. Best day suggestion; sit on the beach in Lauderdale and watch the sun rise, vist for the day them head west across the Alley to Naples and sit on the beach to watch the sun set.
Nice job Tim, I recognized many of the roads you were on. US1 in the keys, I-75, Snake Road out to Billie Swamp. The gas station at the south end where it meets Alligator Alley is a common meet up location or rest area depending on where you're headed. The Keys are fun to visit as well. One road in and one road out. For there you take on that Margaritaville mind set and just relax. No hurry and no worry. The land of Jimmy Buffet and flip-flops. Next time you're near the Everglades park about 10 min from the entrance is a place called "Robert is Here". Amazing smoothies and shakes.
Glad you enjoyed my home state as there is so much to discover here. A few things: 1. You will see more gators in the spring as the water holes are smaller at the end of the dry winter season and they are trying to warm up more. 2. You came to Florida and didn’t get a hot pressed Cuban Sandwich with real Tampa Cuban Bread? You will have to return.
Hey Tim, glad you had a great time in Florida. "Weird noises" that pretty much sums up the everglades, lol. Thanks for the shout out. It was great to have you stay with us, and to ride and show you around my area. ✳️ Here is my video of this day: th-cam.com/video/vJLrYffBPEo/w-d-xo.html for those who want to see more of the ride & Tim & from a different perspective. I had no idea you and Bob also got video of us. Stay safe my friend.. Hope to see you back down here soon.✌
That was an great video, Tim, very scenic (great editing too--that's something that gets taken for granted by viewers often and doesn't get said enough) 😊✌
Great video, as always. I was wondering, would it be possible on future travel videos, to let us know some of the significant roads/highways you are on and showing us? Even if only listed in the notes below. It helps us get our bearings and is really useful should we want to visit the area, too. Just a thought. Thanks.
I spent about a month in Homestead. It wasn't very "pretty" then, as I was there with the military (82nd Airborne) for Hurricane Andrew relief. I did one R&R weekend in Key Largo. The water there is amazing. Prior to moving south into Homestead, I was part of a small detachment in Miami. I'll have to tell that story another time...
Lately I have been using the Jetboil Flash and I am happy with that. I also tried a regular camp stove with the Sea to Summit collapsible X-pots and dishware. Both good options.
One of my bucket list items is to ride my KLR down to the Keys. I've been there by car once, but it would be so much fun to ride around town, as well as on the Overseas Highway, on motorcycle. Was that Mallory Square where you filmed the sunset with all of this people? Did you stop by that famous Key Lime Pie Shoppe?
What were some of your favorite roads in South Florida? I have lived here my entire life and I think it's the most boring state in the world, I hate it. I am glad to see that you enjoyed your time here though! My favorite ride here in Florida is Sugarloaf Mountain that place is just awesome. Definitely not a mountain, but to me it definitely was!
Great video...I used to live near there in Sunrise, FL. So, you only saw 1 snake, but the real question is, how many snakes saw you? :) Great video...thanks for sharing.
I am hating you so much right now. I have wanted to do Key West for a long time, but it is so far from Tucson. Thanks for the video now I have to go. lol Be good man and keep the rubber side down.
@@FTAAdventures NICE!!!!!!! Dude I have to say the coolest part of multi day adventures is when you don't know or care what day of the week it is lol. I got back this week and I thought yesterday was tuesday roflmao! Can not wait for next one buddy, I may be editing this last trip until the day we meet up but it is all for the cause lol. I think i called you when you where in this place worried about snakes and alligators haha

LOL I am not a fan of snakes haha
We rode from Miami to key west a couple of years ago. Great ride.

Hey Tim, enjoyed the Everglades video. Have you done a segment on finding camping either free, low cost or just whatever is available?
Ahhh, the Everglades...I can’t help think about all the dead bodies as you wiz by on your bike 😂
I really like your new intro.
great vid, being in canada we only get to ride a few months a yr. till i retire
Thinking about doing this same trip in a month anything you’d suggest if going to tent. Cheers
A laid back episode with a great choice of music.
Loved the video 👍

Hey Tim, next time your in Florida we can go on a day ride. I'm in Tampa. BTW great vid.
Sounds great!
Beautiful.
Have a question, you had it on one of videos, but can't seem to find it about what cookware kit you recommended.
Lately I have been using the Jetboil Flash and I am happy with that. I also tried a regular camp stove with the Sea to Summit collapsible X-pots and dishware. Both good options.
Some cool shots. Been in the Everglades myself. Beautiful there. Good video, stay safe.
Thanks, will do!

That was the old navy pier where he was. They call it sunset pier now.

@@FTAAdventures can't wait to be able to get back on the road. Had a trip planned for june but not sure parks will be open yet.
I watched a 21 minute infomercial about fat burning protein shakes before watching this video. Crazy eh?

The commercial interruptions are a bit too many. I hope that is not the trend for your channel.
