- Some tones from a nitro Charvel into a Marshall Major that was modded by Michael Audette. I used an Arcane/Luxxbucker Old School bridge pickup for this clip. Celestion Blackback speaker was mic'd up with an SM57 and a Royer R-121. I'm plugged straight into the amp. A bit of reverb added in post.
Well done, great playing and excellent tone. Takes me back! Damn, that must have been insanely loud.
One of the best Marshall tones I've ever heard, though I'm sure the peak Celestion speakers play a huge part too
That's some vintage tones there....killer
Thanks man.
Superb playing, superb tone, superb everything & that guitar is gorgeous.
Everything about this video is insanely good
Thanks.
You have such an awesome tone. I wish I had somewhere to crank an amp like that, enjoy.🤘
sounds killer
Gorgeous guitar, lovely playing and amazing tone. That's the stuff right there.
Iconic!!
Definitely earned a sub from me! Man, that tone is killer and those riffs are outstanding! Cheers!
Outstanding! Amazing tone and effortless playing. I do hope you're not just a hobbyist that has gotten that good. Surely you've been in several bands and/or are a session player? 🤣
The 'Lay it Down' riff was my favorite part. PERFECT tone.
Sounds great!!
Great sound!
Sounds great
thats the perfect combo....basketweave/marshall/charvel
Killer
Sounds great! What is that plugged into the top of input 2? Do you have the inputs jumpered?
Coooool guitar & riffs! 😎... tuned in Drop D ??
Thanks. For this clip, I'm tuned half a step down, and then the low E string is a full step down from there.
Where did you find that gorgeous nitro Charvel?!
The Music Zoo. AFAIK, they're the only US dealer that gets Charvels with relic'd nitro finishes. Prices have gone up on these recently, but if you keep an eye on their website, used ones show up every now and then.
I hear a little bit of an SLO vibe with that modded Marshall Major
Can you tell me the name of the song at 0:54?
The two riffs after Lay It Down aren't from any songs that I'm aware of... just some drop d riffs I came up with that are fun to play.
@@beloud1914 they sound great! Awesome ideas. Love the tone too
Thank you. @@petercriss116
R/T mod?
Do you know how high you set your pickups?
I don't use gauges or anything. I just kind of eyeball it at maybe 3mm as a starting point and then adjust a bit from there. I tend to prefer them set pretty low.
👍
Wow
Nice and chewy!
