I have so many good memories of this one, I heard it drop first time at Bagley's nightclub Kings Cross London on white label, DJ Aerial spinning his legendary 8 hour sets on a Saturday night. When you make a remix your never quite sure until you actually see people going nuts on the dance floor, that was such a moment for me, I was never quite sure about the sonic the hedge hog riff🤣 but luckily It was engrained into everyones psyche and wow, what a reaction. 🥳
Still the most insanely ridiculous trance classic of all. No other track makes me feel so much all at the same time. It's music like this that makes me grateful to be here.
I miss the days of finding vinyl in HMV especially when they were £2.99. I remember buying my first vinyl bag in HMV, it was a Hooj Choons bag. Loved that bag.
I was too young to remember and not born for most of it but in the 90’s and the early 2000’s HMV used to sell cool 12” singles with exotic remixes and it was more interesting than now. Better times. :(
Hooj was the best label period, closely followed by twisted/tribal, I got a vestax bag free in virgin megastore one Saturday morning in 98 Carl Cox was launching vestax PDX range
I met Matt Darey at the Sound Factory back in 97 or so. I was into hard house / tribal back then and didn’t start getting into trance until a year or 2 later. Didn’t even know who he was... I was sitting next to him in the lounge area and just struck up a convo with him and he told me his name and that it was his first time in a club in the states and told me to check out his stuff sometime. I didn’t pay it no mind until a few years later until I started seeing monsters like this come out and I’ve been hooked ever since.
I remember passing my driving test and my mate putting this on as I was driving. Searched for it for years and finally found it. So grateful to TH-cam keeping these songs available. If not they would be lost for many people
Same dude. Remember hearing it on Radio 1 when Oakey dropped it at Creamfields. Still one of my most cherished vinyls, for sentimental reasons rather than rarity. Wouldn't mind a second copy as mine is well played.
This time is epic!!! DJs Johnny Fraser & Mark Stuart from The Ice Factory in Perth (Scotland) used to drop this at the end of the night back in the day. Great times!!!
What a TITAN of a song - haven't heard it for decades and I've got goosebumps and grinning like a loon. Respect to all who danced, smiling and loved up to this throughout the years.
With Three N' One - Pearl River (Vocal Mix) , Lange - Follow Me, SIgnum - Coming On Strong and Lost Tribe - Gamemaster toghether this jewel, are my top 5 nostalgia TRANCE THEMES,, thanks Trance Classics your channel is EXCELLENT
No other track propels me back to the start of the best years of my life like this one. Happiness to last a lifetime meeting more people in all my clubbing years, than I could ever count
Grace - not over yet (matt darey remix) does it for me. So does Gabrielle - Rise (Matt Darey Remix). Dude had so many bangers during this period. What a legend.
Matt this one is. Supper Mario sickside dome loud and now quality pure BADDASS TRACK IT'S YOUR"S CONGRATULATIONS .FROM DJ PERFECT PERFECTION DISCO CAT MEXICAN AMERICAN. APRIL 5 2023
Another great trance classic:)) Master of day's back ago Please, take me back for one of those clubbing nights again, to feel it again with heart and soul🥳🤗
Always get aching butterfly feelings deep down with a deep sense of loss everytime i go back to this track. So sad now, and i dont know why (feels like a massive opportunity in a chapter of my life has not been recognised...i dunno so..... haunting. 10/10
Love this track, like a chain reaction for me. any time i get my retro phase of gaming i play sonic 2 the moment i hear that boss music i get goosebumps and go looking for this track again.... (yes i just played sonic 2)
Man i think i love you. y head this track when i have 9 years old. This track change mi life. others.. v one dead cities... voco me flim flam remix. etc. Man. good times.
I remember Graham Gold playing this on his Kiss FM friday night show and being "WTF is this?!". It absolutely blew my mind, I was a fan of Lost tribe Gamesmaster and it had some similarities. So much atmosphere and uplift in one track.❤
Had a raverkid run up to me in 1999, asking if I'd ever heard this record that the deejay was spinning before. Just days to millennium New Year's Eve and everyone was at the height of apocalypse paranoia with Y2K. I shook my head and he insisted we hold hands while I heard it - No. Scratch that. I LIVED that record that night. The amazing breakdown and buildup nearer the end told the story perfectly: the world may very well end tomorrow, but even if we saw a meteor break through the sky, we were dancing until the last moment. I ended up being so affected I drew blood with my nails in the palm of his hand and neither of us had any idea until the deejay mixed into the next track. Unreal.
Love a bit of Westbam. I know its Matt's mix but Its not often you see Westbam on here. Celebration Generation is one of my GOATs. So is this mix tbf. Love it Dazza.
Okay, so I grew up playing the Sonic games as a kid, and when I first heard this in 99 (Matt's Euphoria album to be exact) it never dawned on me it was the main Sonic boss music. It wasn't until just a few years ago actually that I looked up the original Westbam version, that it hit me. Matt totally reworked into something beautiful and uplifting, while still being structurally similar to the original. I'm not sure that many people have this type of talent. No wonder he was THE REMIX guy back then. And in retrospect, probably even greater than Ferry, mainly because Ferry's remixes while great, almost all had the same formula of modulated melodic bassline, then supersaw riff formula that worked better in some tracks and not as well on others. Anyways both are about as good as gets. And while I love his more deeper, slower Nocturnal stuff, I hope he graces us with another 5 year or so stint of pure unaltered Trance bliss, before venturing into other musical genres again.
@ TranceClassics, Hey been gone awhile, glad to see your still going strong. So went out to a good Wi-Fi connection to say hello & hear this classic 98 mix on this my old account im on now.

Remember being in Argentina late 90s and Ariel done a 12 hour set unreal
Ate you really my man Matt.... please don't blah I love trance and your music if is you ......
Huh? Where's the sonic the hedgehog riff?
Matt Darey, literally the top architect of amazing trance tracks. Been a fan since Heaven's Earth!
This tune is responsible for my now poor hearing aged 41. And ya know what, I'd do it all over again. Absolute banger
Still the most insanely ridiculous trance classic of all. No other track makes me feel so much all at the same time. It's music like this that makes me grateful to be here.
I still love this track as much as a 37yr old as i did as a 16yr old in 98. Beautiful

Feeling a bit down today, dark gloomy January day, lockdown . blast of uplifting tunes always blows the cobwebs away
Absolute monster of a tune. A rollercoaster of emotions. A true classic 🙂

In my opinion. The best trance track of all time.
The weekend has landed! Choon!!
Greatest trance track ever made!
I'm 59 and only just found this track after 25 years of searching. I have the vinly coming next week. One of the best tracks ever produced.
I remember passing my driving test and my mate putting this on as I was driving. Searched for it for years and finally found it. So grateful to TH-cam keeping these songs available. If not they would be lost for many people
Another addition to the Golden Age of Matt Darey remixes.
i was around 14 or 15 at the time and this spoke to me like no other track did. truly epic.
Same dude. Remember hearing it on Radio 1 when Oakey dropped it at Creamfields. Still one of my most cherished vinyls, for sentimental reasons rather than rarity. Wouldn't mind a second copy as mine is well played.
I own a copy of this and I could never let it go, still gives me the same feeling when I was younger listening to it

This track basically defines the late 90's of raving for me. Its a nostalgic rush and and emotional ride hearing it every single time.
Matt Carey produced some of the most iconic Trance tracks of the era. This is probably his finest, although Gamemaster is also incredible.
Grace - not over yet (matt darey remix) does it for me. So does Gabrielle - Rise (Matt Darey Remix). Dude had so many bangers during this period. What a legend.
I agree 100%, but up there with the best is Point Zero under his Li Kwan alias.
Those who know, know this is the best trance track of all time
I always remember this from Sunny side up at the SW1 Club London, Victoria
Absolute definition of a trance classic! Simply amazzzzzzzzing!
Reminds me of the Metro and The Arches in Scotland. Good times

Loop 64 bars at 07:09 6 times over, and you have the greatest 3 minute trance loop ever. Just pure euphoria in every sense of the word.
Legendary and ahead of it's time. Still fresh!
Makes me feel young again
