This reminds me of an event that took place in Spencer, North Carolina (US) called "Streamliners in Spencer" where some streamlined diesels gathered for a few days of photo shoots at the transportation museum located in that town. It's really cool that some of the streamlined diesels are still in service in Australia. The bean counters working at American railways are eager to scrap older equipment and a lot of ours were torched. Only four streamlined ALCO PA-1's are left in the world (no PB-1 booster units survived), only because those four units were sold to the National Railway of Mexico in the 70's. Two of them were wrecked and those two came back to the US around 2000. The other two have supposedly been declared national treasures by the Mexican government and are preserved at a museum.
JS317Productions oh wow, that’s nice. I’m not sooking at all I’m just admiring locomotives and being sad that one isn’t being preserved. It’s not going to affect me at all in the long run. Although, if I could by S306 I would.
@@PolarBear71169 That's Steamrails, home deport, if it's stored on broad-gauge there then maybe preservation is being considered. In any case cracked frames is how VR wrote most of them up when they got rid of them.

Brilliant what a bunch of gorgeous beasts.
Awesome, thanks for capturing this magi moment.
Railroads Australia on the Discovery Channel hid these on it's TV show.
Fantastic video, hopefully at some stage we see B65 & S302 reactivated. Great footage
A B class is the best looking diesel locomotive of all time and the colour scheme on this particular B is the best of all time.
wow show
Is GM 1 still in revenue service?
這種老的「狗頭車」還能碰碰叫的向前奔馳 實在令人讚嘆不已!……
Is the SSR loco an ex NSWGR 43 class ? Or Commonwealth Railways ?
Which SSR loco? S302, S312, S317 (If it was there), any of the GMs or B61????
Which SSR loco are you talking about? The S classes, B classes or the GMs
SCRX rAndoMGuY I know the S and the B were Victorian. I meant the one on the turntable. Where’s that loco originally from ?
@@fordlandauthat's a GM. GM1 to be exact. Australia's first streamliner.
SCRX rAndoMGuY yes. Commonwealth Railways. Early 1950s. One was called R G Menzies. Old classic !
Was S306 operational at the time?
JS317Productions 😢😢😢
JS317Productions Because it’s a PN loco and it means it will likely be scrapped soon as it’s been stored for a while now
@JS317Productions yeah cos I can't, im not exactly an adult nor do I have the funds or the qualifications to operate it.

JS317Productions oh gee you think. Why you so triggered at me?
Awesome video bwDVD :)
lol...I think the turntable needs a bit of tlc. 😄

@@PolarBear71169 it must be pretty bad around the pedestal and frame structure for it being out of service since about 2004.
@@PolarBear71169 before scrapping, laser scan the inside and outside of the locomotive to store a record if it.
@@PolarBear71169 i found the info on railpage- the SSR must have some excellent welders.
silver paint look horrific
