for me, binders are enough already. you just need to buy refills for lower prices, instead buying notebooks. binders are more convenient and easy to use bc you can put all of your notes in a one place. sooner or later you might not use those indiv notebooks. it is more practical for me to use binders. it's just me and my opinion bc im in college already but no problems with notebooks.
I personally don't love binders because of how easy it is to tear the pages caused by merely flipping them. I like your stance though, to one their own.
