Same thing with Kanye West it's sad because you have authoritarian like mothers and they're insufferable and they sometimes genuinely do mean well and they project their anxiety in themselves onto their kids hence why they make sneaky sons or it's the mother that loves them too much but doesn't have boundaries as a black single mom of one child/ son I've learned from my mom growing up to never be like that and in therapy smand self aware and luckily not creating the same generational curses that women in my family have made

Thoughts on men who’ve experienced maternal absence/ abandonment? Clingy?

Could you also talk about ladies with daddy issues?. In my case I had an overbearing father who pushed me to excel in academics which kind of warped my sense of worth beyond my “productivity “

My ex mom was a recovering heroin addict and although he only smoked weed, he was resentful of her actions. So ladies, listen to your intuition and let him divulge his past to you before getting too attached to a possible sociopath.

Yes!!! This is how narcissists are created! Being raised without a father is a form of trauma. Even if it's considered minor. The spoiling part is what completes the creation of the narc

I've noticed too that the guys who I've dated who came from a poor background (even when their dads were in the picture) were the narcissists. They always yell at you when you get sick. Even my ex was rich, and he still did that.

    • @winxclubstellamusa

Absolutely not!! Don’t forget that most sons of narcissists come out narcissists as well because that’s the behavior that was modeled in front of them! Having a BAD FATHER in the house is a much worse trauma than having no father in the house. Don’t be obtuse. Most fatherless sons DO NOT become narcissists, while almost all sons of narcissists do.

Their mom raised them like a little girl.

What about women with mommy issues because our mom hated us? I know this is also a thing in the Black community, because my Black friends have similar mom stories to mine (either that or White people just don't talk about it). I think you might have touched on this before, but how badly did this mess me up? I try to not be the person I had to be to survive, but still...

Preach. And we're not allowed to talk about it in the black community. We're aggressively encouraged to gaslight ourselves of our reality. They bring up God tells you to honor your parents but everyone forgets about loving your neighbor. Your neighbor is everyone outside of you. That includes your children 🙄

@gurlycash7394 I will say, the one time I got a LITERAL bootstraps lecture was from a Black elder (Boomer), after a personal tragedy. It was sad, though, to think that's how she probably handled it herself, and that therapy would probably really help her. But yeah, there's so much expectation on Black women to save the world and not crack under pressure. When I figured out I was struggling with illness, I learned that I get to be the lazy one, and other people can go out and prove themselves if they want to, and to not let other people's expectations get to me. I felt guilty about it at first, but my life got so much easier when I learned to let other people save the world. I'm still learning that lesson, too. You can't do anything about crummy parents, but you can be your own parent and keep yourself safe and comfortable.

It’s definitely a spectrum, but the ones with highly abusive or absent moms…forget about it. They can be ruthless and hyper dependent on the woman even despite their improper treatment of them ““People usually apply the term
“mommy issues” to men who display some of the following traits and behaviors: an expectation that romantic partners will provide more than a fair share of household labor or emotional support. trust issues or difficulty showing vulnerability.”
I swear these guys are just as bad as unhealed daddy issues girls

We as women create batterers.... Thats another reason for their fathers or uncles around to handle them.
