The amount of care and wisdom Lian's parents gave to him in that moment was so touching to me.

I have to give major kudos to Zee Pruk's acting skills. Seeing him cry is actual torture, I felt a knot in my stomach when he was trying to fight Yi to run after Kuea. The way he acted complete devastation mixed with heartbreak and the panic in his eyes was so amazing. I don't think I've ever watched another BL that was this well acted by everyone involved but especially Zee and Nunew. They really brought out the best in each other. Zee will forever be my favorite actor because of this series.

The fact that Nat is actually crying so hard in the BTS of this episode when Kuea reject Lian's proposal 😭 omg! Nat is such a baby! What his mother said to him is really powerful. Marriage, or any other partnership, is about trust and sharing your burdens, not just your success. Lian has had to shoulder so many problems all on his own from a young age and that it's all he's used to. He's never had to worry about including someone else, and it's taken a tragedy to make him realize that.

i really like how kuea's decision to say "no" despite of their basically-married state (that he said himself when lian asked him to be his boyfriend) is a significant growth/development in his character.
if the proposal happened earlier, he would have said "yes", because-let's face it-he's ice in lian's warm hands. kuea always paced relentlessly; he acts on impulse. from the marriage to breaking the engagement immediately after realizing that lian "doesn't" love him.
if anybody was looking forward to the marriage besides lian, it would be him. but here, we see our protagonist that acts on impulse most of the time, decides on waiting (turning the proposal down because there's so many things that they need to fix) for something that he's been wanting to happen.
he's grown. it feels like i've grown with him.
as for lian, this is the first time he seems bare. for years, he's been building himself up (to be the "worthy husband" in his definition), only to be let down by the very person he's built himself up for. it's just heart wrenching to say the least. the scene of him sobbing to run after kuea makes me want to cry in the corner.

Honestly, agree with everything you said. Especially this line, although it's also at the same time what makes this ending a bit upsetting to me. Kuea turns the proposal down because of so many things that need to be fixed, even though he wanted this to happen. This is something he knew from the very beginning, since being a child. Something he knew when he first decided to pretend to be a completely different person; something he knew when Lian said he didn't love him, didn't want a puppet; and something he knew when he got back into a relationship with Lian, when he was repeatedly told "I love you", and "I wanna marry you", and "my future with you". Going from this, the proposal and a future together was inevitable, so I think it's a bit unfair that he ignored the problem and waited with the trying to "fix it" (which in his mind apparently just was breaking up) up until a proposal. He had plenty time to do before so, and many opportunities.

both kuea and lian have their faults, especially the public proposal thing which puts pressure on the receiving end, because they both knew that there were things needed to be settled. however, plot-wise, i think still it's great that they decided to move this faster through the proposal.
i think, in a way, lian and kuea are stubborn (in a fair good and bad way). since lian should have just properly confronted kuea about certain things or brought the topic up in certain conversations despite his good intentions to "wait for kuea to bring it up himself"; kuea, too, should have just admitted to the lies since he was getting there anyway. it would have taken them so long to even get to that point, so to bring up a sort of ultimatum was a big help to get their relationship to move forward faster.
i understand how it might be jarring, considering the embarrassment lian had to go through with that public rejection. so, i don't have anything to go against in what you said!
Consent is really important in Cutie Pie
It’s absolutely heartbreaking the way Lian is fighting Yi to chase after Kuea, he’s crying and he is devastated but still everything he wants is to be with the boy he fell in love with and make it right for him, I love all of these scenes, also Diao running after Kuea with no hesitation and Yi trying to calm down Lian, I love everybody’s friendships here.
Also the acting is outstanding, Zee made a wonderful job expressing emotions with Lian you just feel like crying too and I really want to talk about Nunew’s acting because damn! This is his first series and look at him! He’s acting better than many others with years of experience, ahhh I love Cutie Pie so much

Man I cannot describe in words how phenomenal Zee's acting was here. He simply nailed the raw heartbreaking emotions, expressions, body language, voice tone, acting through eyes. Literally a 10/10 and a round of applause for him.
Lian struggling against Yi almost broke me man.
But even more, the things his parents said to him. Their soft gentle voices are so sweet and warm. Their words were so beautiful, such lovely and important things to say.
I felt so comforted by them.

domundi hit the jackpot with NuNew. he is a natural star. this much raw talent from an actor so young in an industry that is rather picky. & HIS VOICE. so excited to see NuNew grow and gain more experience. would love to see him in a BL that is rather serious like murder mystery or mafia.

The utter heartbreak on Zee's face, just shows that he could feel the emotion of this scene. Even when he bodily fought against Yi to follow Kuea and Diao, the heart break is just so... well... heartbreaking. Such wonderful acting for such a heart wrenching moment.

The devastation on Lian’s face was too much…I literally had to pause for a while cause it felt like something I shouldn’t see. Like whenever I see someone break down in front of me I always have an impulse to look away before I break too and this is what I felt here. Zee can act!

They were both lying and hiding themselves to fit a mold and appease the other. But in all relationships you have to compromise and work. Love isn’t the only thing that keeps relationships afloat. People divorce and break up everyday still in love with the other. Either you are a team as a couple or alone as a single.

Zee acting here is just top notch. Watching Lian crying, running after Kuea in the rain devastated is just torture. Lian’s parents give wisest advice to their son in the midst of this mess. They really bring up Lian well and it just show how good parents they are.
I am not lying cutiepie is my fav bl this year. This series has filled my weekend with happiness 😊. Gonna miss this series so 😞 bab. Thanks to the staff and actors for giving us this amazing series.

¿Podrías hacer un mini resumen de lo que dijo cuando lo rechazó? Directamente me salté esa parte porque no quería terminar llorando, así que no entiendo qué diablos estaba pensando ni cual fue su razón para rechazarlo (sé que es una serie, pero si mi pareja me pide que me case con él delante de toda su familia y yo, por la razón que sea, no quiero, en ese momento aceptaría y al llegar a casa hablaría con él y le daría mis razones. Solamente lo rechazaría delante de todo el mundo si la cosa entre los dos lleva un tiempo mal y lo hace como maniobra intimidatoria para que no lo rechace.)

I love how considerate Hia Lian's parents are.💗💗 Kudos to Zee Pruk and Nunew their acting is top notch, espeacially seeing Hia Lian cry is like torture, the fact that he run after Kuea, the way he acted with his mixed emotion of heartbreak, panic and devastated, ypu can really see in his eyes. This series is well acted by everyone involved but especially Zee and Nunew. They really brought out the best in each other. I can't imagine this series if ZeeNunew are not the main lead. This series deserve a 10 out of 10 rating or even 11
I can see in his eyes that he loves kuea very much even if he did a wrong that will end up hurting kueas feelings he still love kuea with all of his heart...this series has alot of message portraying, communication is the most important thing in this series...I'm happy that they already patch things up

Every Saturday of the week is the happiest day since Feb 16. The await for Saturday the whole week was terrible. Finally made it to the end. Lian's parents, I LOVE THEM!!! These best friends, I LOVE THEM! On a serious note, this part is just breaking my heart. So many emotions and the actors portrayed them well. The acting is good in this series.
Lian's problem is that he never asked what NuKuea what he wanted, he simply assumed things would be better.
The worst thing a person could do in a relationship is make decisions for the other without having tried to gain their partner's opinions and consent about the decision.
Lian's Sin is that of Assuming that his decisions didn't need NuKuea's consent... Even though those decisions would have a significant impact on his life.
Maybe if it was simply a restaurant choice for a date, it wouldn't be as impactful... But this isn't about what restaurant to go to, it's his family's business and property, millions if not billions of Bhat are involved with this deal.
This is a significant financial decision to make. Maybe if NuKuea was a child, it would make sense, but he's an adult, he has a right to know about these things, even if he isn't ready for that knowledge.
The pain of being left in the dark about such life altering decisions is painful.
If anything, it's more painful because it feels like those making the decision distrust your capacity to comprehend their decisions. It makes you feel like you are not a human being in their eyes. It hurts more when those around you treat you like you aren't capable of rational thoughts, it especially hurts when that person is someone you love and admire.
Why?
Because your idea of being equally invested in the relationship is destroyed. You're disillusioned and left exposed with the realization that you aren't considered as you wished to be. Your role in the relationship isn't what you thought it was. You aren't really part of the relationship because you aren't seen as you wished to be seen.
It makes it feel like everything is a lie, because you are not really the person they're seeing.

Didn't Kuea essentially do the same thing though, to Lian? On an even more personal basis? Kuea never asked Lian if he wanted the perfect, polite and pretentious fiancée, he just went ahead and changed himself, thinking it would make their relationship better. He made that decision himself without talking to Lian about it.
And that decision, too, would have an incredibly big impact on Lian's life: Either he actually loves the fake personality of Kuea, and gets heartbroken when the lies come out, or (like was the case), he loved the actual Kuea and got hurt by having to deal with a shallow Kuea.
Because we can't ignore the fact that Kuea - especially in the beginning - wanted nothing more than for Lian to fall in love with someone he wasn't, and to marry that person, while being lied to.

However, given the context of his upbringing, it's actually pretty logical.
Unless you missed it, his mother seemed to place a heavy emphasis on the public image, on top of which there's the pressure to "prove" that his and Lian's Love is just as valid as that of any cisgender heterosexual couple.
They both were pressed to conform at least a little bit to gain wider acceptance, and avoid the far more toxic elements of society.
They were lucky that the families in question knew not to try and dissuade them, but there's also their age difference...which while minor, does have an impact.
Yes, NuKuea made a mistake, but Lian who is supposed to be the more mature one. Also failed to recognize how he too was unintentionally pressuring NuKuea with his own efforts to be the Model CEO of a rising corporation.
There's an inherent inferiority complex they're both suffering as a result of their position within society.
Lian as he felt he needed to grow beyond his role as NuKuea's main Childhood companion, and make himself "Worthy" of NuKuea & his own family's high position.
Which places NuKuea in a fragile position when he not only has the emotional blow of his grandfather passing, but also his companion and betrothed seemingly skyrocketing to a far more brilliant role within society.
There's more to unpack, but this is why I don't judge people's actions, I provide observations, and they're not intended as judgements.
They're simply an effort on my part to refine my abilities to assess things accurately, and if my observations irritate or assist is purely a side effect of that process. 💁🏼♂️

I love Zee, his acting is excellent. When i first saw him in Why R U, i was like damn this man can really act! And here too he really expressed all that he is feeling on his facial expression when Nunew rejected him. He is not just a cute face, ( and a fabulous body🙈), he is the best in BL so far. I will forever be his fan.💜💜💜

I was genuinely putting off watching this last episode but episode but I couldn't, and I am going to miss the show tremendously; everything was perfect. From the acting, the emotion, the chemistry, the camera work, the soundtrack, oh what a beautiful soundtrack, it was just so perfect.

Hurts! i felt how broken heart Nu'Kuea and Hia Lian were (kudos for ZeeNunew acting and all those involved) i cried..starting from Hia Lian who felt devastated and desperate fight Hia Yi who's trying to stop him..then ran in the middle of rain to chase his love, the value of friendship that Nu'Kuea-Kon Diao and Hia Lian-Hia Yi have, Nu'Kuea crying alone equipped with beautiful song and lyrics that portrayed his feelings and words he want to conveyed..but, what makes me bawling my eyes out is that despite the shame, dignity at stake and their ruined event..Hia Lian's parents continue to support, advise and give immense love for their son 😢😭 it's so touching.

Sadly, I don't think there will be a 2nd season of Cutie Pie, they have told most of the story in the novel (only a little bit of the ending is missing: Kuea finishes his university, he earns his own money through youtube and they really marry overseas). But there will be very likely a special episode, maybe by the end of this year. The company is now filming 'Middleman's Love' and 'Bed Friends', Zee will play a small role there. From the same author of Cutie Pie, there's a 2nd novel called 'Naughty Boy' which tells the story of Yi and Diao. And the author said if this 2nd novel will ever be filmed she wants the same actors to play Yi and Diao, and maybe Lian and Kuea will have small roles then. So, there is hope. Also good news: Domundi is Zee's and Nunew's acting agency and they're known to create pairs who work together for a long time and often in different series together. So, if everything goes well, Zee and Nunew might play together again in a drama in the future.
My heart omg. Hearing nunews song playing in acoustics and the flashes to kuea just crying alone while you see lian basically be like…eff it, I’m not waiting any longer, I’m going to go to my man. This episode starts so heavy and I didn’t start crying till kuea leaves and you just see how badly lian wants to go after him. I like how kuea got to say his piece and how for him, it was never resolved while lian tries to explain his love is good for the both of them but did he really look at himself and say i got you. I trust you where else all the trust has been placed in him from his family, kueas family and even kuea at a young age. I also love how the mother imparts some wisdom and says marriage is bout going through both hardships and happiness which was always one sided for the first part.
