  • This is my two months Muay Thai progress. Judge my form.
    A couple of months ago I woke up and randomly decided to take up MUAY THAI, It was always on the bucket list but for some reason or another, I've always found excuses not to do it. I've always wanted to LEARN HOW TO FIGHT, must be a guy thing. I'm pretty old so I suppose I came to the realization that if I don't do it now. I may never do it. So here we are. HOW MUCH MUAY THAI DID I LEARN in two months? Am I A BETTER FIGHTER ? IS MUAY THAI HARD . I suppose it's still too early to know but what I do know is that MUAY THAI IS FUN

    My girlfriend is Thai, but I don't know much about Muay Thai. It's great to share your passions, whatever they may be. Keep doing what makes you happy and satisfied. I use the ZVe 10, but I haven't tried the S Log3 profile yet because many recommend against it due to the 8-bit colorspace. I love the color grading and quality. I'm considering the FX30 as my next step. Feel free to share more about your color grading, especially from this vlog. I'm sure many people would love to learn from your skills. Did you use Phantom LUTs in this video?

    • @noisackda2564
      @noisackda2564  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Oh nice! Thai girlfriend :) She must be very kind. Thanks for the kind words. I've thought about doing a color tutorial for a while but I can't seem to get to it because I don't find them fun to do haha, but I can talk about it a bit in an up-and-coming video for sure. A lot of it has to do with exposure to be honest so it all starts there. If the exposure if off then sometimes even color correcting won't work.
      I've never used SLOG3 on my ZV-E10 TBH. I'm sure it would work fine you may just get a little banding in the gradients. I usually stick to cine2 for 8bit footage. I can get very close to the SLOG3 look with that. I am using the phantom lut here :)

    I've got so many comments!
    First, welcome back. Although I was hoping to see more tears and less mustache.
    Yet, seriously... Are you saying this your first two months kicking or hitting a bag!? Your form looks solid!
    I used to box (as a hobby) but it's been years, and I wanted to try Muy Thai, but was scared of looking like a fool trying to use my legs, but you may have inspired me to try it this time!
    I also used to spar (mostly going like 40% ish) but it's always the cardio that shocks me. Trying to handle all those adrenaline dumps was the steepest learning curve with it.
    Long story short, happy to see you back on here and looking bonafide zaddy (I think the kids are still using that term)...

      I'm always nervous when I see your name pop up I don't know what it is haha. Thanks for the warm welcome back. It's nice to post a video. I miss it.
      Yeah man I've been going to the gym at least 4-6 times a week. I'm obsessed. I think that's why I've taken to it so quickly. I get angry when my form is wrong. With that said, I'm not really starting from zero. I have a heavy bag at home and I've been wailing on that for the last four years. No proper form or anything but my hands have gotten pretty good. I've always known how to kick as well from watching Bruce Lee movies but my kicks were very straight up and down whereas Muay Thai kicks are more twisty from the sides. Way more crushing and practical IMO. You should totally do it man. It's so fun but you boxed so you know what's up.
      TBH I'm super worried about cardio. Mine sucks! Compounded by the fact that these guys are half my age and you have a recipe for disaster but I'm really excited to get in there to test myself because it's not enough to simply look like a zaddy, you have to be able to handle yourself like one.... I don't even know what I just said there but I said it! At any rate, thanks for the warm welcome back. You making any videos lately? Hold on let me go check :P

    • @BrianCatalano
      @BrianCatalano 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@noisackda2564 Regarding your solid form, I considered 2 possible options: 1. You are a natural athlete and/or dancer with good internal rhythm that picks up new sports super easy... OR... 2. You have some obsessive compulsive tendencies which don't allow you to do anything poorly nor post about any hobby you may have until you reached some level of mastery so as not to reveal your fumblings... so you go hard learning a new skill to bridge the divide between fool and master as fast as possible!
      If I am right with my observations and not just projecting, you probably have a little of 1 and a lot of 2 and don't know how to do anything casually.
      Regardless, its inspiring... I've been wanting a heavy bag for awhile at my place, I just haven't found a good place to hang it as I converted my garage to my lil youtube studio, so I'll have to sell some gear to make room for it. That'll be an intense internal match deciding which to get rid off for it...
      Keep the vlogs coming (if you want to keep making them)!

      @@BrianCatalano That felt like a therapy session. Where would you like the check sent? I am definitely obsessive-compulsive. I often tell myself that if I can't make a shot or a goal I will die the next day haha. It's sort of problematic. I am also a perfectionist. When I was younger I had to be the best. I've since let that part of me go thank God.
      You should 100% get a bag, but even better! Join a class again. It's probably the best decision I've made in a long time. Terrible if you are trying to build a TH-cam business but great for your mental well-being which I feel is way more important.

    • @BrianCatalano
      @BrianCatalano 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@noisackda2564 the observation was simply that I saw my compulsions reflected back at me... And also a running theory I have that a lot of people on TH-cam have similar traits, or I should say those that try to make good looking content consistently, do... And that drive must not just be born from an over-active conscientiousness but from many unfulfilled perfectionistic tendencies. This makes us good at a lot of stuff because we are terrified of being outwardly bad at anything--which we all are because we are normal humans with flaws, in spite of how hard we try to mask them.
      Ok, rant is officially done with... As you can tell, I have too much pent up energy that I probably should put the phone done and punch a heavy bag. Thanks again for the inspiration!!

    Dude, I would say your title is click bait :D :P
    Based on how you move and kick I would say you have trained martial arts before - or you are a natural :D Anyways the progress looks amazing man!
    Watching this really makes me miss my Taekwondo training. Trained over 10 years regulary and then my two daughters were born and my priority shifted. But I also have to admit my disciplin was just gone, got lazy regarding working out and gained weight aka dad bod :D
    Now I managed to at least sqeeze in a 20min work out into my day and focusing on basics and strength training and correcting my diet again.
    But I have to say watching you hitting and kicking the bag - I will try to throw a few kicks after this comment. Let's see how it will go :D
    And no worries regarding the shift in content. I like you as a person and the way you put your vlogs together + color grading is just a joy to watch ;)

      As far as my fighting skills I've always been good at kicking and punching. I learned it through watching movies TBH. I also bought myself a heavy bag around four years ago and decided to use it a year ago. My hands got pretty good from studying youtube haha. My kicks are new though but I've picked up on it super fast.

      @@noisackda2564I've been well man. Thanks for asking. Yeah I actually have made almost $300 so far from affiliate links. Still that's so little compared to the amount hours I put in. I still like it as a hobby and I'll still continue to make videos and have affiliate Links for items that I find to be amazing finds but I'm not sweating it too much. I also think the camera channels have slowed down in general because there haven't been very many interesting things here lately coming out. For me for right now if I'm able to upload one video a month I'm fine with that. It's also harder and harder actually because once you step up your game it's hard to just press record, do a super simple edit and be done with it. I see that you've tested a range of wide-angle lenses, including the Sony APS-C 11mm and 15mm, Sigma 17mm, and Viltrox 16mm. Is Viltrox your favorite for vlogs like this? I like your style and how this looks 👍🏻I have the 11mm and 24mm as my widest focal lengths but probably need something between 15 and 20😊

    • @noisackda2564

      Thanks for the kind words. For the APSC system to get a very similar look to this vlog I think the 15mm f1.4 would be good. The reason why the Viltrox works so well here is because it's the perfect distance away from the face for it to be wide enough to vlog and you still get a nice soft bokeh. If it was wider I wouldn't get the nice separation. Is there a place you can go to try out the Sony 15mm? I really like that lens but to be honest it's a little too close to the 11mm.
