Another one of Band-Maid's deep cut gems ... and one I happen to adore. They've got about 40 or 50 of these. Brother, I do not envy you the task you have set yourself!
Damn this is the Maids only a couple of years into their band journey, just blows my mind, nothing but total respect for these amazing women. Oh and I wonder how many hearts they melted strolling around town 👍🍻
Another underrated Band-Maid song. I stopped trying to rank them because I feel like I'm being disloyal to certain songs. Obviously everyone has favorites but I love so many of their songs and for different reasons that my top songs can vary day to day. I am enjoying watching you struggle to rank the songs though and I'll listen to almost anyone talk about my favorite band.
This song... every time I listen to it now and hear Saiki-san's voice, I feel my heart break a little even though I know that her vocal ability is now even better than it was.
K-Ross , This was the 1st time BAND-MAID was in the U S , it was March 2016 in Seattle WA they were at the Sakura-Con festival , the scenes out side were them touring around Seattle , at the time this was the largest audience they played in front of , apparently this is were the MISA MISA MISA chant started .
Fun MV for them as being touristy in America for the first time in Seattle. Great crowd, would have loved being there for that. Visually, Miku running through Tokyo or Saiki walking anywhere.... 🤘
This is the earliest of their songs where I can really feel the emotion (melancholy, as others have mentioned) projected through the music. And I love their mid-tempo stuff, so this ranks quite high for me, even out of all their songs.
I've always loved this song, it's really melancholic. I was stoked to witness them play it live twice last year. So far I have: 1. Real Existence 2. Freezer 3. Forward 4. Arcadia Girl 5. ORDER 6. Be OK 7. the non-fiction days 8. Don't Apply The Brake 9. LOOK AT ME 10. Before Yesterday 11. Knockin' on Your Heart 12. Don't Let Me Down 13. Ai to Jōnetsu no Matador 14. KEY 15. Shake That! 16. I am writing this before your ranking. This is one of the songs that introduced me to the band. I just love it and the fact it has a wonderful dated, melancholy feel to it. This would be in my top picks along with Rinne. But as Band Maid have yet to have song that wouldn't be in my top ten. The top ten is very crowded.
It's OK man. The whole reason that I won't try to make a list is that I won't ever be satisfied with it. My list changes frequently. Keep going. I love the process.
The show that solidify misa's place in the band as to being unsure that she wanted to continue as their bass player the audience let her know she was the one
K-Ross, as you travel through their early catalog, you can see that they are becoming more and more sophisticated in their sound. It is going to be increasingly more difficult to rank the songs.
I like how your whole astrix section is just because of one song really. We've all fallen for the Arcadia Girl trap, it's just so different that we're kinda taken aback but ...does it hold up. But I like your place of before yesterday.
Great reaction as always K-Ross. One more song on this album to go and then it's off to "Just Bring It." At that point, your ranking stress will greatly increase, LOL! The next song and last on this album is "Alone" which is the first song they did all by themselves. I so look forward to seeing you enjoy this breakout smash!
Feel the same, could have (and wish they did) extend out bridge and solo 1. Arcadia Girl 2. Freezer 3. Shake That! 4. Thrill 5. Real Existence 6. Forward 7. Yuragu 8. Before Yesterday 9. One of the songs that sounds least Band-Maid to me. I'm not a fan of the either the verse and especially the chorus melody which sounds to me like the opposite of the Band-Maid I love: Band-Maid songs, even the ballads, sparkle with life and I don't get much of that from this one. Also, Saiki's pre-surgery voice sounds exceptionally hoarse here. All of these things combine to put it in my bottom 5. the non-fiction days Yuragu Thrill Freezer Real Existence Shake That!! Key Arcadia Girl * Beauty and the Beast * Knockin' On Your Heart Freedom Don't Apply the Brake Price of Pride Be OK Forward Ai to Jonetsu no Matadoru Summer Drive Brand New Road Order Look at Me Don't Let Me Down NEW: Before Yesterday Yoake Mae Big Dad Show Them Evergreen
Fair ranking... but I would say that this is the sort of song I love to come back to from them as a contrast in emotional content to a lot of their other music. I prefer the upbeat stuff generally, but this is a great break from that, a good contrast.
Not one of my favorites. That guitar riff is too derivative of Don Henley's "Boys of Summer" for me. On the other hand this video was the first time I saw Saiki smile and that's always a good thing!
I have heard this show is where the MISA, MISA, MISA chant began! First time in America for Band-Maid for the ladies is where the footage is from.
The footage for the video was from their first North American appearance, the anime festival, Sakura-Con in Seattle.
Scenes from Sakuracon in Seattle in 2016, their first show in the US, being tourists.
Thanks for that 👍🍻
I really liked seeing MISA smile so much during this video! Fun song, top five to this day for me!
Another one of Band-Maid's deep cut gems ... and one I happen to adore. They've got about 40 or 50 of these. Brother, I do not envy you the task you have set yourself!
I love this song, I feel a level of nostalgia when I'm listening to it and it always makes me smile. Thanks for sharing your reaction.
Damn this is the Maids only a couple of years into their band journey, just blows my mind, nothing but total respect for these amazing women. Oh and I wonder how many hearts they melted strolling around town 👍🍻
I'm sure they at least turned heads!

This song and MV always make me feel nostalgic for some reason.

I think it's a shame to try to "order". The last heard always wants to be the "first"... :DD
Good placement. I agree 😎🤘

Wow. Before Yesterday is number 2 for me, after the non-fiction days, so far. Until the next one.
Nice intro video!
You forgot to put 11 other songs below Freezer.
Durn ... just missed the premier. Yeah, at least Freezer beat something :p .
