Hello again , thank you for being here. If you have any comments or questions about these or other air purifiers , leave me a comment ⬇, and we will answer them. Thanks again
I just bought 2 Levoit core 300- p series. I still have them in the box have not set them up yet what do you think of that model each or four small bedrooms
I almost bought the mini, great point about operating costs. I’ll get the 100s or maybe even 200s instead. Appreciate the honesty in not just making this a big advertisement for Levoit and pointing out the truth either any brand - there are better and worse models within the brand!
Glad you found it useful, and no company is perfect so its all about finding the devices that worth it. Let me know how you get on with your new air purifier - as I always say in the video I would go to the 200S if you can get it.
I have 3 of the newer 300s in different rooms. It has many types of filter options, including a smoke remover with a removal prefilter with 2 extra prefilters with every filter. With wild fires, this was a game changer so I could breath. I have not seen this filter available with other models.
You can use the filters for the 300s for the older 300 but will see weaker performance. The difference in filters is mainly carbon amounts and if you wanted more carbon you could also look at the 400s that also has smoke filters but higher price and running cost. But glad to hear your 300s with smoke has been working well for you.
@HouseFresh Difference was incredible ... wildfire smoke slowly creeped inside over days, the regular filter had the reading up at 9, when I used the smoke remover filter (which does everything), the reading came down quickly to 1 .... cannot recall how long but it was less than 30 minutes, it came down to 5 very quickly, and then continued to go down. I did need to keep it running at med and sometimes high to keep this level of 1. Where I usually keep them on low setting. That sold me on these filters.
Thanks for providing us with detailed information on the sleep mode now. Hopefully, in the future, we will also have the data for how quickly it will clean the room using sleep mode!😊
@HouseFresh *Thank you so much!* Your videos are quite informative. I'm considering the EverestAir since it's $100.00 off on US Amazon right now plus my Utility Co. is offering another $100.00 off. Does the EverestAir do well with Pets that shed a ton or which other brand & model should I consider? Much appreciated!
The removable pre-filter works well to keep on top of pet hair that will end up here. Be sure to keep this clean to keep performance level high. Be aware its big but I much prefer bigger and running them on lower fan speeds for lower sound. Sounds like a great price to get $200 off.
@@HouseFresh Thx! I saw another vid that disputes the CADR ratings on any product because they are only tested for 20 mins. so not actual figures. Can you explain if the CADR ratings are reliable?
CADR isn’t perfect but still a good indicator of overall performance. Higher CADR always matches up with units that are quicker to clean out test room.
So is any of those filters TrueHEPA? Amazon still lists all of them (Levoit) as HEPA filters. I need a unit specifically for filtering mold spores. I ordered the Vital 200s but if it's not a TrueHEPA filter it won't catch the spores or?
Looking at Levoit.com they don't mention HEPA on their marketing materials anymore which would make me think they don't have HEPA grade filters. But even non-HEPA grade filters will be able to remove spores as the grade of the HEPA is just passed on a single pass of air, but air purifiers will pass the air through the filters many times. So whilst its a bad look for Levoit the company, the Vital 200S is still a good air purifier at removing even the smallest of particles in a room.
Great video! I'm planning to buy a new unit. We have a small room, can I buy a Vital 200s instead of the 100s? Is there any negative effect because I'm buying a bigger unit for smaller room. Thank you very much!
It wouldn't matter if it's HEPA or not HEPA grade as it seems the ones Levoit uses. Non-HEPA grade would actually be quicker at removing tiny particles from a wood burning stove
I would focus on those with a removable pre-filter for pet hair, as this will build up more with all the pet hair/dander. So avoid the cylindrical units like the Levoit Core series and go with the Vital series instead.
One of the team had one but I haven't personally tested but I believe it's just a Levoit Core 300 in grey, with a slightly different designed control panel and a pet filter as standard. Similar to the Core 300 it might be too underpowered for your space, what size room do you want to use it in?
Hi, I watched a few of your review videos and decided on the Levoit 200s, however, in the UK they only have the 100s. I purchased the Levoit 100s, I have been using it for about 2 weeks but I have noticed it gives me migraines immediately if I turn it on and also gives both me and my partner sore throats. Do you have any idea why this could be? P.S it 100% is the air purifier because as soon as I turn it off my migraine subsists and if we sleep without it on we do not have any sore throats in the morning. I hope you can help me. Thanks 🙏🏻
I am sorry to hear that! I would normally say it might be ionization that causes it but the Vital 100S has only mechanical filters. Maybe there is some allergy to the carbon used? You could look at an air purifier that just uses HEPA with no carbon and see if that still gives you issues - but sorry to hear you had a negative experience.
Google says you have better airflow since you filter larger particles only, which increases purifying speed. But it depends on your requirement. If you want bacteria, viruses and mold spores to be filtered, you won't be happy with the airflow advantage of a non-hepa filter which would for example only collect bigger particles like dust or pollen.
As what@@dinowuffwuff said, lower grade of HEPA will allow more airflow. The grading is based on a single pass of air so whilst a lower grade will collect less in one pass, each time the air passes the filter more particles will be collected even the smallest of particles like bacteria and viruses. A good article on this topic is here: itsairborne.com/hepa-filters-are-not-needed-67e952792481 Let me know need more detail and thank you Dinowuffwuff for helping to answer!
Thanks for the info! I believe it will filter out all the particles in the following passes if the filter is of high quality (at least near MERV 12 or 13), has this property, and can maintain these properties for a long time.
@@shamilbasayev99 yes try and find the fastest speed that won’t bother you. I do wish more devices would have more aggressive auto modes and many don’t kick in fully unless the air is really really bad .

I am hoping to get this review live in September but it's a very good unit especially for those in the UK who can't access the Winix 5500-2. Will look at getting the Zero pro but I also expect it's good but with extra CADR.
I do not understand if HEPA filters are necessary ro remove 2.5PM or not. What I care is just the removal of paricles especially the smallest one. I have Xiaomi without hepa and true hepa amazon basic, they are quite good but I need one better.
HEPA isn't necessary and many tests show that lower grade filters can clean quicker than HEPA grade. Even MERV 13 HVAC filters can remove the tiniest of particles. The main thing to look at is CADR as this will help you get the right size for your room and make sure there are a good number of air changes per hour.
@@HouseFresh Thank you for the answer, the best options for a third machine probably are the Winix 5300-2 as the 5500 is not available and I do not care connection to the phone, and the Levoit 400s which is more expensive mainly because of the connection. Is the winix 5300 ok?
