The untimely death of Pandit ji was very unfortunate bringing a career of very versatile singer to a sudden end.For the sake of Hindustani classical music,Pandit ji should have been alive for a long period....

He was a top class classical music singer on par with pt Bhimsenji Joshi . He died too early .
Nowhere close to Bhimsen Joshi in Khyal. But, a superlative singer in his own right.

I do not think they record it- that is always part of the announcement.
Violin accompaniment was almost always his nephew, D.K.Datar.Tabla, cannot say.
@@ambindia met Mr. Datar 3/4 times but never asked him about accompanying DVP....thanks for the information.....

He seems ro be singing Nabi key darbar? Nabi in this case refers to the Muhammad? Interestingly old muhammad was against music especially that of kafir Hindus. Anyway, chalo, abh kya karein.
