The treatment of the son in this story bothered me. I'm not referring to the FL's indifferent treatment in her 2nd life. I'm referring to Maxwell's hands-off attitude in both lives. He basically left the child rearing to the 2 women. In the 1st, it was the FL. In the 2nd, it started with the FL then transitioned to his new wife. Jack didn't understand how much he benefited from his mother's care and discipline originally. All of his achievements the 1st time around could be traced back to the foundation provided by his mother. His disrespect towards her came from how Maxwell treated and spoke of her as well as the overly kind, indulgent treatment Jack received from his father's beautiful, young mistress. Sienna could treat him with benevolence since she didn't live with him and had no responsibility for his upbringing. In the 2nd life, she became his stepmother. Her treatment of Jack quickly deteriorated with her seeing him as an impediment to her soon to be born child. Maxwell did nothing to protect Jack and ended up a single parent of Jack as his 2nd marriage imploded. His solution was reconciliation with the FL which proved unsuccessful. Jack's future is less than bright.

If her ex really loved her he should have cut off the relationship with his mistress when he wife assed for divorce and fight for his marriage. I don’t even feel sorry for her son because if he can be that heartless so young then it would be better to cut off the relationship!

Although it seems cruel to Jack, the moment you realize that a person will never appreciate you when you sacrifice so much for them, then the best thing for both parties is to stay separate from that person. Emily's relationship with Jack was bound to fail the moment Matthew, the father, was willing to abandon his wife. There is nothing Emily can do but let them go. Jack will always be under Matthew's shadow as his son. Also, the father's family has more assets and hence more sway in Jack's life and welfare in modern society, so even if Emily were to accept Jack, Matthew would have found a way to make Emily miserable. No one should have to suffer from that and Emily has suffered enough. The best thing Jack can do is try to mend his relationship with his mother when he is older and more mature. That way he can not only help Emily but also hopefully find a way to forgive himself with time.

Jack made his choice when he said that he wanted Sienna to be his mom; that itself is proof enough that FL is not wanted or needed anymore as a mom.

Nothing excuses the MC ignoring the blatant abuse her son is suffering.
The new wife attempted to KILL him by pushing him down the stairs. The child literally cried and begged for help and she didn't give a fuck.

      @Whooachannel I agree.
But, whether those who support FL's attitude towards his son, like it or not, in this life the child is innocent of the choices he made in the other, and even the words he said in this one are more the fault of the poisonous words of his father and grandmother, beyond the mother's ignoble submission to the whole situation. In this life, with your emotional center rebuilt, your self-love and career recovered, having a relationship with your own son would not be impossible as shown in the story... Which is contradictory at this point.
Hurt pride, ingratitude and injustice on the part of the son towards her is not a reason to end years of devoted love (which the mother showed to have for the son, in that life in that life).
How did all this love turn into indifference in an instant? Why did she no longer care about her son as soon as she woke up in the other life? I would expect anger and resentment, not absolute indifference. I would expect anger and resentment, not absolute indifference!

@@Whooachannel still not her problem. She isn't the only one involved in his birth. She already gave up life and happiness for them, why would she do it again ?. Is it because
1)you feel like being a doormat as a woman is Normal?
      2) women must always forgive what comes out (child) of their vagina?
      3) women must consider the feelings of society, your negative view on HER LIFE CHOICES and every other person's opinion , feelings and mental state but hers?
It's her life just as that child has his life, a woman isn't always in control of everything that happens in a child's life. The father and other relatives play a role in a child's character and opinion. Why should she solely be blamed or be held responsible. Is she a God?. If she aborts, you complain, if she gives birth to the child and chooses to give up custody to the people that want the child or are against abortion, you still complain. In other words, you just hate that she has control over her life again, you hate the fact she placed herself, her feeling, life, mental state and happiness first before a child who once caused her death.

She can't control what the father and his relatives show or teach the child. He's the father and has every right to see and spend time with his kid. She can only try within her capacity to teach the child the right thing but it still depends on what the child chooses to accept. If she can't change the child, she has to put herself first and LEAVE everyone behind including the child. I can understand why she was cold to her son in this life. She lived a miserable life just so that he could live well and be successful, in return for him publicly humiliating her on his wedding day. He’s even indirectly responsible for her death. I don’t any adults who wouldn’t have appreciated a mom like the FL in her first life. There are kids with shitty moms that wouldn’t easily want to switch to a new mom. That speaks to his character as a person.

i got a few friends who would love to go back and trade FL for their mother... for damn good reason... abusive drunks/drug addicts/mental cases just shouldnt be around kids... this story shows that pretty well...
and i have 2 friends who have kids they have no feeling for anymore after the crap they said and did... kids are still just gobsmacked their parents wants nothing to do with them and has no feeling for them.. just... none...
only thing i have seen melt the ice a bit was new kids causing both parents to become a bit more forgiving... and the ability to torture the older kid with... children... tammy admits her daughter will never hold that place in her heart she once did, but... their relationships different but good, that girl earned he new relationship.. she changed so-fing-many-diapers.. also got her dad and step mom sent to prison for neglect and abuse... the cig burns on her arms and legs... that dad pretended to not know were from his wife... yeah... the ones on her back.. she wrecked them in court, leaving only mom to take her and the sibling in... and her husband, my old buddy, just told her, they couldnt let the kids endup like her brother and his couisns who ended up in the system... the other kid was the idiots who went to prisons spawn.. BUT, seems genetics didnt impact him in a bad way, kids so polite and respectful it sort of hurts... most of the time anyway... get him into something or playing with the other kids in the woods... and hes roudy AF... was all worried he was gonna get beat or ground or some shit... took the other kids, buddies and the ones from the are just "what the fck" reactions and assurances that shite wasnt normal or how they reacted... just dont hurt yourself or anybody else being stupid or intentionally... follow the rules and... nobody is gonna get mad at you... the kid actually asked to be adopted and the state granted it, his 1/2 sister.....Tasha... became close with stepdad pretty fast... and again changed sooo many diapers... they had twins... she got the grandmas to teach her to cook since her mom can cook but prefers not to.. LOL... (shes funny, can cook amazing food but only dose it during vacations... too burnt from working..same as our boomer parents were...
and i have also seen people cling to a horrific narcisist of a parent(mostly mothers...mostly) till the finely realized the parent didnt care about them, they cared about themselves..
one gal i know nearly went to prison for shit her mom did and was going to try and pin on her daughter, luckly mom got pass out drunk and...her phone had no code or print to scan... she setup an app to forward all sms, meager, etc to an old iphone... and gave the phone to he cops... turned out they found evidence going back over 7 years that she was involved with an s-load of home and business and job site robberies... moms still in prison... a prison psycheward... if she ever gets out it will be because she escaped... :/

Unpopular opinion: you don’t get to decide you don’t want to be a parent anymore just because you don’t feel like it. Jack was a little asswipe (shocker, most kids that age are) but that’s still her child. She didn’t even consider the fact that he was manipulated into feeling that way about her by his dad and his mistress and just decided to cut off all ties. The real villain is the husband, and the son is unfortunate to be caught up in the aftermath of his selfish choices. That being said however, I don’t blame her for cutting ties. At the end of the day, forgiveness is not up to the one giving the apology, no matter how elaborate or well thought of it may be. I hope she will never come to regret her decision down the line (whether or not she does we will never know anyway lol)

Yes you can decide to stop being a parent. Many Men do it all the time, leaving their pregnant gf and kids behind when relationship ends. Many girls don’t, even the ones who were forced or persuaded to give birth after an unwanted pregnancy bc of society pressuring. But, in the end, just like men, women too came to realisation that financial obligation is the only lawful requirement one has until kid is adult.

Our culture is not the same . Child is own flesh and blood , you can change your husband 10x but your child can’t . We’re talking here a 10 year old kid , do u think he is matured in that age ?? You know what , she should discipline her son , she lack of it , she should fight her son here and leave the husband and start a new life .

Just because he came from her uterus does not make him entitled to eternal forgiveness especially when his mistakes lead to her death. If I was in her shoes believe me I would not leave him with the dad but make him feel as miserable and helpless as me.. damn the blood relationship, anyone who causes my dirth directly or indirectly will pay the price , that include the ones related by blood, went into me and came out of me.From age 5, we can tell right from wrong. So age 9-10 is a very emotionally and mentally stable age for a child to know the right way to act.. the child only does bad if you excuse their behavior with the stupid notion that he's JUST a kid.. damn the KID ISN'T BRAINLESS. Didn't you go to school or know anything about neurology.

When she started talking about her sacrifises I wanted to slap her: hasn't she agreed to that unconditionally? People play with you by the rules you set. If you do what she did you basically say "step on me I am ready to sacrifies and be sacrificed". Did she ever set a condition? A time limit? Nope. So she basically taugh t everyone to treat her like trash🙄

When that child, at his age insults his mother, he deserves to be treated like that..what a brat, his father should have stepped in and set him straight. I have 7 children and the day they act and treat me this way is the day I will give up on them too. Parenting should be shouldered by both mom and dad. If the dad gives up, why can't the mom give up too. I have always been the major breadwinner in my home and my kids know better than to treat me with disrespect!!! Im only 5'4, and my kids are all over 5'11 even my girls, but I will not allow any of that attitude!!!

Don’t forgot she stayed with that child in her first life and he hated her! Also he’s in his fathers custody. He’s not alone and the mother still pays child support. She doesn’t hate him nor is she getting revenge against him she just doesn’t love him anymore. The father should be more responsible for his son and take better care of his for once.

😪I wish they would've remembered the past life, & how disgusting they both were to her in both lives. I normally don't like mothers leaving their kids, if the child is 1-6. When the kid isn't even old enough to CORRECTLY understand right from wrong. At that age, an "auntie" giving them sweets & spoiling them, is a SAVIOR. Specially when you have the father & both families filling the young child's mind with disrespect & venom against the mother. I'm old school & will use a spank here & there, like I was raised. Offcourse always making sure they understand WHY I did it, & that I do it because I love them & want the best for them. I show more love than, & reprimand when necessary. When sweet words aren't enough, & a firmer hand is needed. All the "trauma that Carrie's out until adulthood" BS that supposedly inflicts is mumbo-jumbo. The only trauma I & the countless generations before the "use encouragement not reprimand" movement , learned. Was RESPECT, working hard to be better (& not invoke the wrath of the 🩴, when I got a D-F or got in trouble😆), & the FEAR of CONSEQUENCES for MY wrongdoings. Something today's generations know very little about. Because they shield themselves with "I'm a minor you can't touch me, no matter how much of an asshole I am to you & society"😑.
    ANYWAY I DIGRESS😅:
💁🏻‍♀️ In this case, she STAYED thinking the arrogant child she nurtured with love & effort, would mature & understand the difference between being spoiled & being properly raised, as he grew up. But the kid stayed the same, no matter how much love she gave & sacrifices she made . So GOOD FOR HER FOR LEAVING👍🏼🙌🏼👏🏻👏🏻.
Both father & child were so heartless, selfish, & arrogant. That only by being rejected & no longer spoiled, would they see the Diamond they traded in for sewer scum.
SHE had the foresight that satans spawn wouldn't change. But in the case of FL's that are taken for granted & hurt by their 6-7yo. So they decide to leave, not knowing if the kid will realize their mistakes or not. Then it's ok to a certain point, depending on the age of the kid & how the FL treats the kid afterwards. It leaves a sour taste when the FL leaves a 3-6 year old. Not only because the child is acting out (along with the asshole father & Rey of the family), but because she holds resentment towards their kid for a difficult birth or postpartum difficulties
(it's the MOTHERS choice to birth the kid, so any difficulty incurred from THEIR decision, shouldn't be held accountable against the child😤). I dislike the FL more , if they decide to coldly disregard their kids suicide attempts, severe injuries (this Fl showed up), or physically kick or slap the injured 3-6 year old. Whose on bended knees, asking for mercy, shelter, FOOD, or forgiveness.
Or when the MOTHER knows their bio kid, (who has recognized their mistakes & begged for forgiveness. After growing up a bit more) is being abused, starved, or is left out in the cold streets.
THAT behavior from a mother is completely unacceptable & inexcusable. No matter how much the 4 year old hurt them, THAT behavior is down right nasty & PETTY.
At least in THIS story, the ML wasn't a total AHole to his son & actually raised him. But like I said, I wish they had both remembered the 🍆's they were to her in BOTH lives. Their regret would've been 10x's MORE satisfying😌.
Ok I'm done ranting, thanks for your time🙏🏼😅.

My co-worker left her son on the police doorstep when he acted up.
Part of the problem is the government is parenting the parents, and not allowing the parents to do their job: which is raising their children.
40 years ago my dad complained to me that he could not raise his son the way he raised his daughters. By the way there's a 16 year age gap between my brother and I.

@@lorrainelomotan1366 These kids think they are untouchable, & entitled to express themselves however they dam please. They know NOTHING of respect & don't know how to fear consequences, because the government, justice system, educational system, & over coddling parents move heaven & hell to deprive them of that fear.
My son has never pulled the "I'll call the cops, I'm a minor" crap, because he knows better. I always make sure he knows I love him, & that everything I do for him is for HIS future & safety. I'm raising him the same way my loving, but strict parents raised me. Despite being shamed by society & punished by the system, if I so much as touch a hair on his hair. But I'm not about to have him be a burden & a nuisance to himself & society. We have enough of that in these generations already😒. If that makes me a bad mother, we'll then I'm a TERRIBLE mother.
Obviously there's a limit to how strict or demanding a parent can be. A parents that goes old school for the sake of their child, KNOWS there's a line between educating & abusing. No parents have the right to cross that line, without suffering the consequences for THEIR abusive actions. As parents it's our job to love, protect, & provide for them. NOT to be petty & abuse our role to physically & mentally destroy them.
