According to me the writer had full control to write a happy, realistic ending. I mean this made no sense tbh. Her dying like that in the forest, her brother behaving that way suddenly. The writer at this point just purposefully made it put this way because of the whole background being tragic, bittersweet,sad. Like I'm sorry but they could have had made this out way better. They knew that killing the lead would make the whole fandom cry and raise this show to a higher pedestal becauase sad endings still get more people attached than normal ones. I couldn't feel this part, im sorry. Like it seemed madeup tragic just because it had to. There wasn't enough build up or reason at all. Plus him not knowing at all?! Without trying more?!! Yeah, no. It felt like a melodramatic endings they give usual sad shows or soap operas. Other than this bit, the entire show was perfect. If inly they had a better crafted last part. Smh.

my heart hurts for myunghee. she has been sacrificing for her whole life and this is how her life ends - alone, not knowing if her loved ones are safe. at least she got a taste of happiness with heetae but definitely not enough compared to the hardship she had been through. but at least she got to let go of her hatred for her father in the end. heetae found the love of his life, only to lose her in the same month. i cannot imagine going for 41 years not knowing the fate of my loved ones. hope can be a cure and a poison. im glad he finally got his closure. swim hard and safely! poor myungsoo. i pray that jungtae did a good job resolving his trauma and anxiety. i cant even imagine losing 2 of my family members in the same way within 2 days. he lost his father and sister, but he gained a brother and a friend.
I completely agree! But I think after Myung-Hee’s death, Hee tae wouldn’t have been so close to anyone not even Myung soo. He himself was trapped in his fears and sadness. Though at the end, it was shown that he is in touch with his Gwangju people but I think he wouldn’t have bothered to go back in there again or even have tried talking to them himself. He had people for him still he had no one, like he said that if he’ll lose Myung-Hee shi, he’d have no one left in this world and the fact that it came out to be true ;(
It's kinda irony how in Sweet Home, it was Lee do Hyun who's died but now it's the other way around.. It's just hurt that the fact this really happen in real life😢😢😢
this is definitely the saddest k-drama i've watched so far. it really hurts knowing it will not end happily because it's based on true events, but i didn't expect to be heartbroken this much. i really hope Go Minsi & Lee Do Hyun will work as a main couple again but this time with a happy ending please 💗
I knew the ending at the first episode when they found the body. It was then that I told myself one on the main characters is going to die. I dropped it immediately.

One thing thing that pissed me off about the drama was all the stupid decisions the characters kept making. They had so many opportunities to leave. Plus so many traumatizing things kept happening to them but they insisted on making stupid decisions like constantly separating!! And the brother... wth? Your father just died in the woods but you run into the woods to go get your mom and grandma!? Smh

The Female Lead`s body was left out in the open, with time and the elements plus wild animals the bones would be scattered, how then was she found buried plus an intact skeleton? And the Male Lead didn`t even bother to look later in the woods to find her? Plus her younger brother could have taken him back to the area where he last saw his sister.

I don't understand why he couldn't find her body. He knew where they parted ways. Everything happend in under 10 minutes. How big is that forest? After things calmed down why didn't they go look for her body? Did no one really think to search the forest really well? Her brother is alive. He could have pointed to the place where they were last together. Also how come in 40 years no one walked through the forest and find the remains? She wasn't cover with soil, they just let her there. So I assume her body got coverd gradually in time. I really loved the drama but they could have done a better job at the ending. If she disappeared and died alone without anyone having an idea where she went or what happend I could understand. If she died along other people, like a surprise attack in a group and then somehow the bodies were dumped in a hole somewhere like it happend during the Holocaust it would make more senese that they couldn't find the body. No actually he had no clue at that point of time what happened to her ...after 41 years of this incidence he got to know about what actually happened to her 😭..till that he was searching for her
@@Man-ou3vn omg ... 😢 Tbh if they had to kill her off , they should've atleast let him know at the very moment so the years after , he could just try to get over her atleast ... It showed that he still had some hope in his heart for 41 years ... 😔💥
@@maryamnaveed671 It’s incredibly heartbreaking but I think they did that because a lot families are still searching for the missing bodies of their loved ones who presumably died during the uprising. May is incredibly tough month to live though for Gwangju residents 😞

I don't understand why he couldn't find her body. He knew where they parted ways. Everything happend in under 10 minutes. How big is that forest? After things calmed down why didn't they go look for her body? Did no one really think to search the forest really well? Her brother is alive. He could have pointed to the place where they were last together. Also how come in 40 years no one walked through the forest and find the remains? She wasn't cover with soil, they just let her there. So I assume her body got coverd gradually in time.
I really loved the drama but they could have done a better job at the ending. If she disappeared and died alone without anyone having an idea where she went or what happend I could understand. If she died along other people, like a surprise attack in a group and then somehow the bodies were dumped in a hole somewhere like it happend during the Holocaust it would make more senese that they couldn't find the body. But she was in the forest! 3 people knew about it and 1 knew exactly where she was (the soldier). G was HT friend. He should have told him then, not after 41 years.
