People, _this_ video is a perfect example of what the fire alarm system in the World Trade Center sounded like when activated: just a whoop tone, no message (unlike what I've seen some people claim). It's nice that this mall still has & still uses its MXL-V though: they're becoming rarer & rarer these days (I like the tones & messages on it too).
Can you believe that nobody's taking the alarm seriously & just continuing to walk around as if nothing's happening, even though their very life could be at stake?

I will take your word on WTC as for this system it may have never had a message or maybe he or she just missed it. Two of the buildings my dad managed at his old job had old Simplex 2001 panels with voice evac and the system did the pre-4100u slow whoop twice then it would play the default message three times then just whoop until silenced.

@@GaryBeltz I believe people have found footage of the WTC's system sounding & all you hear is a whoop tone, no message.

Pretty much all NYC Class E Systems (Highrises) have no automatic messages because they have a "Fire Safety Director" person at all times to do live page if needed, in rare cases if they do then they will have to be approved by FDNY to have automatic messages

Let's face it, it's more boring without the message of a speaker strobe, like if their isn't gonna be a voice, why can't they just use a horn/strobe instead

Looks that the strobes are not synced in some places, and Audible Silence is not turned off or they just shut the speakers off.

Depending on where they are, it may not be required by code yet. In my state, we just adopted the 2012 version of the NFPA code. So audible silence is still legal in my area.

    Fire alarm strobes flashing, smell
Of something burnt, and police and fighter fighters, but I’m gonna still walk in the building. 🤦‍♂️

Was there a mechanical error to make the fire alarm go off or did someone pulled it?

Sometimes duct or smoke detectors sense stuff like smoke or carbon and send it into an alarm and will continue until the area is cleared of the smell or is fixed

So that’s why they have to use tge eat sound one now days because people don’t mind or take the whoop seriously which I like the whoop and speaker sounds way better than the alarms that keep beeping eat they are louder , more annoying and could make some deaf.

@California CC toilets I don’t think those were speaker strobes I think those were regular horn strobes in the pictures but most of the building probably had the speaker strobes
